Assuming your world is anything like the OG, I have a few tips.
If you see any metal animal looking things, break 'em open.

GET ALL THE EMERALDS JUST TO BE SAFE. They are all powerful gemstones that can and will allow whoever they deem worthy to obtain god levels of power. Or, if Eggman gets a hold of 'em, he can supercharge his machines. Once again, future problem.
Sometimes you need to get to one of Eggman's signposts with 50 or more rings, sometimes it's with Checkpoints, sometimes the rings are hidden around a area, yada yada yada. You just gotta have 1 in order to make something to track the rest though, as they all use this spiffy thing called Chaos Energy.

Well, they're actually called Badniks, and they usually are made to look like bugs and the like, plus some aquatic creatures such as crabs. I can't really say much more, considering how anon already is risking disruption of this AU's timeline a bit with their tips.
Oh! One more thing! The Emeralds' power, aside from a couple specific circumstances, can't be harnessed by living beings unless all 7 are in one place. You'll see what said circumstances are when you get to them.

About the pool party thing, I can't really blame him. Just about every version of Sonic can't swim without external aid, for some reason.
So, it honestly makes sense that he wouldn't want to go to a pool party...
I mean, itās not like I canāt touch water at all. Like, whenever I get to the deeper levels, I justā¦feel like Iād sink to the bottom and not be able to come back up.
