So, I’m in pretty desperate need, which is why I finally decided to make one of these types of posts.
A little about me, so you know who you would be helping… My name’s Andrew, but I also go by Andes online. I’m a 24 year-old disabled Trans dude with no income and no insurance. I am currently in the beginning process of applying for Disability, so hopefully I’ll have income by 2020! But, right now, I rely on my younger brother to buy me food and pay for therapy on top of his own bills.
TW for talk of teeth below!
My teeth have been an issue for well over a year, now. It started with what I assume was a bad cavity that caused me so much pain, I was unable to brush my teeth or use mouthwash. Because I had to stop taking care of my teeth, they’ve understandably only gotten worse.
I’ve always been in pain off and on because of my teeth deteriorating, but it wasn’t until recently that the pain started being constant. The whole left side of my face is in awful, sharp pain and has even spread to behind my eye. I’m worried about infection.
I’m desperate. I need to go to the dentist. There’s a “community free dental clinic” that I’m going to see first and foremost, to see if they can at least tell me what’s wrong and maybe they can extract the problem teeth. The thing is, it’s not actually going to be completely free. Since I have no insurance and I’ll need actual extractions, it could cost upwards of $300 or more, depending on how many teeth need extracting. And that’s not even counting the cost of removing my wisdom teeth. This is why I need help…
TW end!
Please, please consider donating even just a dollar. I don’t want to be in pain anymore and I don’t want the added stress of a dental bill that I can’t pay.
My PayPal is [email protected] (it uses my dead name, so please try and disregard that). Or, you can type paypal.me/Andes in your address bar.
Reblogs are EXTREMELY appreciated, as well! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and reblog!
So, I went to the clinic today.
The exam costed $40, which my brother was able to just barely pay. They did an x-ray and prescribed me some antibiotic and a special mouthwash for me to use up until my appointment with the surgeon on June 12th.
I called and asked about costs for surgery and… It’s so much more than I anticipated. They, for some reason, say they’ll have to examine me even though I already got an exam and that’s going to cost $100. Then, if I were to get all 6 of my teeth removed, it would cost $2,060. We absolutely cannot afford that, so I’m only going to be getting the two most critical teeth removed, which brings it down to $1,050. That’s still a lot, and we can’t really afford it, but it’s the best we can do.
PLEASE consider helping me out… Literally anything will mean more to me than you can imagine. I feel terrible that I’m basically causing my brother to empty his bank account.
Thank you SO much to everyone that’s donated so far!!!! I don’t know what I would do without y’all… So much stuff has been happening unrelated to my dental stuff and this means more than you could ever know.
$94.12 / $1,150
