hi there!!! I answered this same question before but it was a while back, so i dont mind answering again for my newer followers haha. essentially: to my knowledge, the #safefurby tag was established in response to some controversies in the furby fandom around the 2017-2019 era, during which a few blogs had posted pictures of their furbys alongside things that are not necessarily "safe for work" (specifically, lots of pictures of furbys smoking cigs, joints, bongs, etc. and a singular particularly controversial instance of somebody posting a photo of their furby with their collection of their porn DVDs ???) and so the tag was created with the intention of being a furby fandom tag for contents that are "safe" for people of all ages (no drugs/sex/other potentially 'adult' or upsetting contents) + another contibuting factor was the unfortunate fact that furby hate is very widespread and some people crosstag furby hate/furby destruction (like the people who set them on fire for fun because they're 'demonic') with the same tags used by the furby fandoms/furby lovers :(

keep in mind this is just my understanding and my own memory of events, and i've been in the furby fandom since 2017, so it's been a long time since these events conspired!!! and honestly i hadn't even thought to check if #safefurby was even still a commonly used/relevant tag nowadays, or if there are any new furby fandom tags that i'm unaware of (if there are any, please feel free to let me know!!)
