my fav thing about prefect luminary is that even though he is... very different from the other alkaids, he is still Very Much So an alkaid. the innate traits are there, it's just that different ones are expressed because of his upbringing and environment.

pl cares about optimization and hates wasting time and resources. the same is seen with most other alkaids and their desire to learn new skills and achieve their goals in an almost perfectionistic way. this is especially seen with modern alkaid. there's an odd, reoccurring trend where pl seems to use this as an explanation as to why he doesn't just kill people or destroy planets for the hell of it or to prove a point. it's wasteful. of course, this doesn't always apply and the empire has messed him up immensely, but my own theory is that the innate kindness each alkaid has is mixed in here somewhere. that pl subconsciously uses resource management as a means to justify it. key word being subconsciously - pl does not strike me as being self aware in the SLIGHTEST.

speaking of an alkaid's innate kindness, pl is a very interesting case where he seems almost defensive if accused of showing kindness. and he always has an explanation. "this is just one exception" or "this is just to be resourceful"... the only way i can even try to describe it is like... he's almost, kinda tsundere? which makes sense. if you take an innately kind guy and put him in, well. the empire. that will likely be the outcome.

pl almost seems bored by his job - i often joke about this, but it's true. there seems to be a lack of fervor in his actions compared to the other empire boys. when stuck in the same position for years and years with no upward mobility - and with no personal passion for the job - you get an alkaid who lacks freedom. and when an alkaid lacks freedom, much of his personality is being restricted since that's a key component to who he is and what he stands for.

pl is sarcastic, blunt, and sassy. every other alkaid is as well, and i'd go as far to say this trait is the only one that perfectly aligns with the other alkaids since it's allowed to be expressed in the empire. though, with the other alkaids, it seems to be toned down with strangers or anyone he doesn't know too well. this is compared to pl who will straight up write sarcastic and blunt emails to coworkers and subordinates.

pl only feels real emotion when it comes to mc. this is pretty similar to modern alkaid. pl and modern alkaid have the most similarities in terms of emotional repression. both have been trained to repress who they are (because of the empire and tammy's organization respectively), and as a result, are deeply emotionally constipated individuals who see mc as the color that paints their monotone lives. the difference is that modern alkaid has a family who does genuinely care about him, a relatively normal society, and the freedom to pursue what he wants when he wants. so he's more well adjusted despite his issues. pl, on the other hand... lol.

i'm kinda curious to see how other innate alkaid traits get twisted with pl and the empire. specifically would be curious to see how an alkaid's tendency to overthink and to protect comes into play. very, very curious actually!

So what if furina anak sa labas ng isang 1% but she feels like she dont belong there. She knows how the system of elite works, the lifestyle, the chismis, the whos who (sarcastically ofc) but find it all so Boringgggg! I mean, why do i even botherrrrrrrr *insert furina's voice*. Decided to get out of the ultra rich lifestyle after her estranged father's death (who just took her in para masabing "maayos" yung fam nila) to pursue her passion which is film. Pero di nagbabasa ng last will and testament which states taht hindi niya makukuha yung trust fund niya until mag graduate siya ng college kaya naging starving artist "para sa sining" stereotype of a student. Ginusto niya yun kaso yung drastic change ng lifestyle makes her struggle a lottt which includes doing a lot of first times like magcommute, maghanap ng part time, mag process ng sariling govt id, maglinis ng cr etc.

One night, after her shift sa burgeran ni aling nena jk, nagising siya na nakasandal sa shoulders ni neuvi sa jeep na nakapark kasi tapos na yung byahe and neuv is nahihiya na manggising lol. It was awkward at first but nakita niya yung watch ni neuv and by her past extravagant lifestyle knowledge its was a real cosmograph daytona rolex 116509 which she finds cute as the color blue complements him. She deduced that he might be a new money guy(bcs noveu riche types tend to buy that brand) and for him to be wearing that on a jeep means hes a superclueless dumbass that doesnt know how the world works or he doesnt care and is just a walking charity for a magnanakaw (spoiler: both). She was puzzled kasi if ever na hes REALLY like superduper rich in this country she should know him or at least be familiar with but hindi which is very weird. Bumaba na siya ng siya ng jeep at maglakad pauwi kaso sinundan siya ni neuv like a lost which creeps her. Then narinig niya na hiniholdap si neuv sa likod na willingly binigay agad yung watch to furina's horror her body moved at hinabol yung magnanakaw and blurted out if meron mang makikinabang sa relo na yun it should be her and not the magnanakaw bcs she saw it first. Furina throw one of her shoes tapos natamaan sa ulo yung magnanakaw sa ulo na nanging dahilan para mabitawan yung relo papunta sa highway. Furina chases it but neuvi pulled her back before she was abt to be hit by a truck. Furina screamed in disdain when the watch was destroyed. Tapos nagaway sila ni neuv abt how that watch worth is nothing compared to someones life furina retorted not when it was her life etc angst angst until bakit ba sinusundan ni neuv si furina turns out makikihiram siya ng phone kasi his drad battery daw siya and nawala yung luggage niya sa airport like Icocontact lang niya fam niya abroad. In the end sinamahan ni furina si neuv sa money exchanger para magpapalit ng foreign money para may pangkain sila. They ate pares sa sidewalk at 4 am.

WWAHHAHAHAHA turns out neuv has some hotshot new money billionaire parent who got rich thru stockmarkets and is now a silicon valley tycoon na may asawang pinoy , him being their son, they wanted him to get in touch with her roots, and build connection here by studying law and econ etc so when the time comes na mageexpand sila sa ph, neuv will handle it. Hindi naman nagtaka si furina bcs her initial assessment sa kanya is correct lol. Insert neuvifuri mutual semi-codependency adventures abt them surviving and finding a place where they belong in this new living set-up which includes neuvilette a clueless puppy paying her to give him intel abt his classmates (like a background check and chismis) in pursuit of good connections and potential investors for the future, touring him around the metro and exposing him to how this country really works sprinkled with moral dilemma ng pagiging mayaman at mahirap. Until furina's past comes back haunting her lol

Maybe a tired-i-dunno-what-todo-but-i-need-to-survive-college-for-that-trust-fund furina and stoic-but-im-trying-to-understand-things-and-humanity-like-a-fish-out-of-water neuvilette dynamics with hepa lane and national museum dates to making a tierlist kung anong pinakamasarap na sardinas sa market.

ANON I LOVE THIS SO MUCH first saw this last week at ilang araw ko na siyang iniisip 😭 as a teleserye enjoyer patok na patok sa 'kin 'to fr 🙏

i can imagine this playing out a la 80s/90s pinoy college flicks (mga Rico Yan films ganun; saka Labs Kita Okey Ka Lang, Moral, etc), complete with the adventures the vibes and the college barkada 😅 considering Furina's personality i can't imagine her not having a lively friend group (tho she keeps her real social status from them)! and once Neuvi is in the picture, i imagine Furina would introduce him sa barkada as her "new friend", then the entire group shares knowing looks :3 but they welcome him to their group and they go to fun college stuff together!

feel ko considering that Neuvi is rich also there's no way he can't sense that Furi is not exactly the "starving artist" person she presents herself to be? like maybe he won't be able to pinpoint kung sino talaga siya ganun but he'd *sense* something "off" in her demeanor, her aura, in the way she's not quite like their other friends... and i think this is where the tension and the connection can come in... yeah they have their friend group but there are things abt each other that only they can understand. and even tho the friend group welcomed Neuvi, for some reason he's not quite at ease with them as he is with Furi, so ayun mas madalas tuloy silang dalawa lang ang magkasama.

'DI KO PA MAISIP HOW EXACTLY FURI'S PAST WILL COME TO THE PICTURE but you really really really got me at the Zhongli bit... LORD... LORD LORD... alam naman natin na ang political dynasties natin dito, ang ancestors ay mga landlords na ilang siglo nang namumuno sa bansa, so of course if Zhongli is a nepo baby politician, he knows who Furi is. i'm also considering what if Furi and Zhongli's families arranged them into marriage etc... sorry hilaw pa talaga ideas ko dito i'm just dumping playing around with concepts

Zhongli in canon is supportive of the idea of humans leading things their own way, so i think he'd be supportive naman of Furi's pursuits? like he won't be an antagonistic type of second-lead who'd be so controlling, who'd discourage her from her adventures. but he'd definitely disapprove of whatever-Nvfr-has-going-on LMAOO feel ko ano, since Neuvi is this clueless person who clings to Furi (in a way), Zhongli would perceive it as smth like, Neuvi-is-an-incompetent-person-who-holds-Furi-back? imagine kasi oh, imbis na Furi is focusing on herself and on doing what she wants, she also has to help Neuvi with stuff ganun. ta's maiisip ni Zhongli, "naku kung ako 'yan 'di kita gaganiyanin" EMZ but like Zhongli would think he can provide Furi stability, complete support, if ever she'd need it. he thinks he can be her rest, kumbaga— and this, he believes, is smth the "clueless incompetent" Neuvi can't give her.

F/F Neuvifuri, a little genderfuckery, modern school AU

When Furina asked Neuvillette of this, it was simply out of desperation. Her determination to ensure that their theater club's major project would be a success prompted her to try all methods possible— even if that included being shameless enough to ask Neuvillette to play the lead role of a male judge.

But really, Furina was not expecting a yes for an answer. After all, Neuvillette has already done her a huge favor simply by agreeing to be part of this club, during the start of the school year. All clubs need to reach a minimum number of members for them to be recognized by the school, and back then, the theater club was on the brink of being dissolved— until Neuvillette, Furina's ever-gracious best friend, came to the rescue.

"I know you don't like being in the spotlight," Furina noted, after expressing her gratitude, "so I assure you you don't have to be in one to contribute meaningfully to the club! The ones working behind the scenes are just as important as those onstage. So there's no need to worry; as your club president, I'll make sure that you'll only ever do things you're comfortable with!"

Well. That was still true, alright. Furina was perfectly capable of respecting Neuvillette's decision had she said no. All she planned to do was try; it would have been a waste not to, when Neuvillette is the most qualified member of the club for the role. Neuvillette was dedicated, diligent, and she had a temperament similar to the character— she would master the role in no time.

And another important aspect was Neuvillette's physique. She was tall, slender, had broad shoulders; she had always been the sort of lady to look better in button-ups than dresses. Apart from that, there was also this certain aura in the way she carries herself... and ever since Furina became hyper-aware of these, she could no longer shrug off the vision of Neuvillette playing the strong and mighty judge in their play.

And so, after a lot of hesitations, of stuttering from Furina's part when she asked Neuvillette the question— they now found themselves here.

One aspect to pay attention to in ensuring Neuvillette's effective portrayal of the role was her makeup and wardrobe. So this weekend, Furina decided to pay Neuvillette a visit in her home, and help her pick suitable clothes from the ones she already owned. Furina also brought her makeup kit, intending to teach Neuvillette the most fitting look for the role she will play.

The wardrobe part was easy enough. Neuvillette's clothes mostly consisted of suits and button-ups, which were definitely in-character of a judge. What was a little challenging, however, was the makeup part, for the art of painting faces was not something that Neuvillette frequently dabbled on. Furina had to teach her the basics, before they could proceed with the specifics.

And at some point, Furina's more experienced hands had to be the ones to put the makeup on Neuvillette's face.

"Like this, Neuvi..." Furina said as she applied the contour on Neuvillette's face. "This will make the bone structure of your face more prominent... more— hm... more traditionally masculine...?"

"Hm," Neuvillette said, attention full on Furina. One of her hands was on Furina's waist to help her balance. "Just like the thick eyebrows?"

"Yeah, I mean... there are definitely men with thinner eyebrows and softer facial features, but... well... there are some... standards to adhere to..." Furina trailed off, her focus wandering. "But you know what I think, honestly? Even without this makeup you can pass off as a man..."

Absentminded, Furina took a few moments to realize what she had just said, the possible offensiveness of it. So, nervously, she looked at Neuvillette, tried to gauge her reaction.

But Neuvillette only looked back at her, only continued drawing circles on Furina's waist.

Furina swallowed.

"Done." She stepped away, prompted Neuvillette to face the vanity mirror. "What do you think?"

Neuvillette stared at her reflection for a while.

Then, her face went through a myriad of emotions that Furina had never seen before.

Furina did not quite have the words to describe them. There was softness, and then there was disbelief, then wonder, fascination... Could the most meticulously-planned and scripted plays ever produced by the school's theater club pull on her heart, the way Neuvillette's rawest and realest expressions did so in this moment? Furina doubted it.

In fact, Furina doubted she could find a greater beauty anywhere else, than the one this woman now possessed.

Zhongli was clear enough, when they first met, that he was not a man for long-term commitments. He only seeks entertaining company, perhaps a little more than just a friend— and while he knows such relationships are not exactly conventional, he is certain of what he wants, what he needs.

It shouldn't have been surprising, then, when Zhongli decided to part ways with Furina the moment he sensed that she might be getting too deep. Well, it wasn't. Furina had seen the breakup coming, had anticipated it the moment she had agreed to their arrangement. What she didn't expect was the ache that came with it. The sudden gap in her heart, from the loss of the one constant thing she had in her life the past months.

Deep down, she wonders why what they had couldn't have been enough. Why couldn't the laughter, the stimulating conversations, the warmth and passion be powerful enough to change his mind? She had given so much of her heart for this arrangement, and with the devotion he had for her, she couldn't imagine him to have given any less. Is his heart so big, that he can afford giving its pieces thoughtlessly to anyone, without seeing a need to hold on?

Or is it simply a difference in character— between Zhongli's generosity and Furina's greed, his willingness to just indulge and her need to possess?

That was it, no? Furina is greedy, desperate to hold onto something she could call hers. Otherwise she wouldn't be here, trying to form a new connection with someone else, even though she knows she could never see them for who they are, could never see them as anything else than mere fillers to the gaps he left.

Queen Furina has been instructed by Queen Dowager Egeria, ever since her youth, that the marriage of a monarch is first and foremost a matter of duty. It is a diplomatic opportunity— a chance to secure an alliance with another significant power in the continent. And as the young, bright, and lovely monarch of the most prosperous territory in the region, everyone has known that Queen Furina is destined for a marriage that could bring their glory to greater heights.

Yet as the queen shines in the court dance, beautiful like the moonlight in the darkness of the night— she finds herself desperately praying that there was another path, another fate.

Count Neuvillette is not the most expressive in conversation, but he is emotive in dance, diligent in practicing the craft. As a man he is calculated, logical; but as a dancer the force of his heart shows. His movements were fluid as the oceans— but the ocean has its waves, and like so, the count sometimes ripples, sometimes surges.

Like so, the count, too, is always subservient to the pulls of the moon.

Who else, then, apart from him, is suitable enough to accompany the most celestial body of all? Who else can complement the queen's movements, match her pace, in every performance she has to make?

It is cruel for the queen to be deprived of such a harmony, simply because counts were never born otherworldly.

But this is not a heartbreak to be dwelt on today. Because right now, in this dance, they are not the queen and the count, but simply the moon and the waves. In this dance, they are not bound by the cruelty of fate—

on this stage, they can shape their own.

French Revolution AU. i literally still think about this constantly, and i don't think i'll recover soon. if you love historical fiction with GOOD attention to detail and/or love stories that will shatter your heart to pieces, this is the one. prepare tissues!!!!

a relationship study, which basically traces Nvfr's relationship from the beginning and how it developed over time, ft. codependency/soulbond. i love relationship studies and soulbonds, and this was written in the best way i could've asked those tropes to be written. ziasann's other Nvfr works are also super good i love all of them

A/B/O AU that i think about all the time. sexy, interesting, and full of feelings. i also love everything by Aisikae! they write the best D/s Neuvifuri, i love how their dom N is gentle but a little mean sometimes, and how their sub F is sweet but also bold and enthusiastic. their writing style is also a delight to read!!
