Ha I'm on four Discords and rarely post but when i do, a great silence falls and no one responds. After a day or so, normal conversation resumes, ignoring the speed bump that is my post. Yeah. Kisses tho. Really.

Adios Meta
Pulled the plug on Meta/Facebook today, deleting my account because imma not helping anyone who collaborates with the neo-Nazi's currently defying our Constitution and shredding our system of checks and balances. Also switched from Goog to Perplexity.ai search engine and will switch my email from G to Proton. I'm but a lowly citizen but I do have one superpower, the Power of No.

As Demi Vollering leaves SD Worx-Protime for FDJ-Suez (yes, it's official now) let's look back at the single greatest moment of teamwork Vollering enjoyed during her tenure at SD Worx.
Iserbyt stomping on Kamp's bike WELCOME BACK CYCLOCROSS SEASON 😭😭😭
Fall what Fall it's 103 degrees (40°C) here
All these comfy cozy images of fireplaces and blankets and streaming mugs of hot cocoa ARE TOTALLY UNFAIR, it's so hot here in California where I live. I'm still drinking iced tea and eating watermelon to keep cool. Maybe by January we will have a day below 80 degrees haha.
Random Thought
why is cat bugging normalized these days. Like I get cuddling cats, kissing them on their little heads etc but I’ve gotten sick of seeing videos where someone is holding their cat down and kissing it and the cats either pissed/uncomfy or the cat is pulling away and the owner won’t let the cat go or those videos where people put their cats head in their mouthes. Like yes you can love your pet but ugh dont do that stuff . Also another problem is if the cat scratches or bites people will say “oh cats hate love”which yes I’ve seen those comments.
meanwhile the cat would only hurt you due to being uncomfortable or being annoyed and keep in mind a dog would do the same. Oh and that too why do people understand stuff like “ Don’t hug dogs they get anxious” which is useful info but people don’t understand not to hold their cats down and harass them
All of my friends that work at wildlife rehab centers have had to untangle animals from this stuff, or had animals brought in that died in it. This is especially nasty for small owl species.
So it looks like NaNoWriMo are happy to have AI as part of their community. Miss me with that bullshit. Generative artificial intelligence is an active threat to creativity and the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people in creative fields.
Please signal boost this so writers can make an informed choice about whether to continue to take part in such a community.

Stop the Army Corps from Draining Thousands of Acres of Wetlands
Yet again, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has resurrected a destructive project in Mississippi's South Delta that would damage at least 90,000 acres of wetlands that support more than 450 species of birds and wildlife. Their “preferred alternative” for the Yazoo Backwater Area Water Management Project is slated to include a massive pump that will drain and damage hemispherically important wetlands.
Urge the Army Corps to abandon this project once and for all. The deadline to comment is August 27.
Note: Your letter will be sent directly to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of a public comment period and will become part of the public record.
