The reason this blog has been on hiatus for some times, is because of my work. I think I mentioned it in a post before, that I'm a designer in a watch company. If you think being a fashion/product designer is easy, think again. :D
Some might say that fashion is art, or try to do an artketing style, but to go to that level where everyone knows your brand knows your product, understand what the product is about, and put your ego first (the artist/designer) and not the company's is really challenging and needs a lot of time. Maybe in years.
It's not only we (the company and I) have different taste, but me and the lead designer is also different. Plus he still struggling to my existence at work. He keeps forgetting that there's another designer that can load the burden off of him, and let him do or research the things he wants. Even after 9 months. 😅
But, if you're passionate about your work, I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end.
And I'm not complaining about the work itself, it's just that because all of us needs to adapt to new situation where there's a new designer (me), it seems at first I'm the only one who needs to change to adapt to the woking environment, where in fact after a while, they started to feel like they also need to adapt to my existence, because funny thing is, this new GIRL (yes I'm the only girl in my division) have the ability to catch up to their work, and that my existence seems to bother them a bit. And as they're guys.. they don't talk much. 😅 So, yeah this is just my feelings, but I feel that they're started to treat me a little bit different. Not in a really bad way.. just that .. more cautious, I think.
So, I found this picture of Souma on my phone, and it made me think and reminisce a bit about the time that I've spend so freely and how there's a part of me that wants that free time but also grateful that I've given a chance to actually work as a designer in a company, so I don't want to waste it, hence this blog is still on hiatus. Though I still buy a magazine sometimes, so I probably still share scans some time in the future.
Thank god I don't need to work on Saturday :D, so I can use that time to read this Souma photobook.
