not wanting to look at him, and for the first time, he is seeing himself and kamukura as equals

hes coming to terms with it. "always" all the way back to before kiboubirthday

here he is literally talking to kamukura

"How do you feel about novels like that?" hes telling hajime "hey you are the villain here!" while letting kamukura see how much he is hurting

he says that last line with such hate, not just because he hates talentlessness(?) but because he feels deeply betrayed. he spent years with kamukura, worshipping him and loving him, and this is how he finds out that hes reserve course. not from his own mouth, but from *monokuma* aka *junko*!!! junko is longgg dead and he knows this. he knows that logically she has no more hold on him. but even after her death, after despair era- after kamukura chose to move towards hope, junko is the one to crush his world *again*

this line is crazy. "even though you aren't who i thought you were and i hate you for that, my apparent feelings are not just for who you are anymore as an ultimate. theyre for you"

komaeda loved kamukura because of his talents, because hes the ultimate hope, but after that vision is destroyed, he still feels *something* besides hate

this is literally him saying "i love you"

and then this is him being awkward about it

now that he knows kamukura was just a member of the reserve course he is throwing and doesnt care about keeping up any of his acts anymore

komaeda hates mikan tsumiki, he takes every chance he gets to bash on her and make her uncomfortable. this is not due to her personality, but because of his projection onto her. She is everything that he hates about himself, clingy, annoying, subservient, a pushover, and most importantly~ a loyalist to junko. While he says he hates junko, he only truly hates her incessant control over him, even in her death and as much as he says he hates her. She still dictates his every move, he tried to take the power back by stealing her hand but that only fuelled his obsession more.

komaeda is to Kamukura as mikan is to junko. but komaeda will never admit that because it would be admitting junkos plan of making kamukura a parallel to her worked. It did work, even though kamukura didnt do much- certainly not to junkos extent- he still carried on her legacy. Its only when kamukura takes the reins and chooses his own fate as 'taking back hajimes livelyhood' did he stop being junkos toy

Only at the end of 2.5 when Hajime (Kamukura) chose to save komaeda and everyone else and *move on* towards the future did he escape his abusers hold on him

i think hes being honest here, thinking abut junko again and needing to talk to them about it

i feel like he had to catch himself here though with the "...For reasons that are unknown."

this is him purposely inciting conspiracy again,he already knows who it is but wants them to doubt hajime more, he wants him isolated (control freak)

i believe he's trying to get her to reveal it to see how much shes lost of herself, by her not revealing it this confirms that shes just as gone as he already assumed (which is completely)

"that story" he not only is reminiscing but phrases his words in a way that can be interpreted as him referencing the past info told to them

he really hates her

this last part is just him being snarky towards her again and *desperately* trying to change the subject by using his perceived insanity so they wouldn't begin theorizing themselves

komaeda nearly revealing himself from his shock "not only from despair..." before being interrupted. even though he could tell she was despair ridden before this in the hospital im sure he was unaware of how bad it had gotten due to his own delirium.

komaeda theorizing that her condition was the same as his *being self aware* while also bashing on her again in the process 'you've always been this messed up haven't you!'

the future foundation would end "their world" that world of theirs being of course the remnants of despair

"claiming the world for themselves" would be true from her perspective

oh my god actually diving into a fandom space and seeing the things casual fans talk about is so crazy like what do you mean you dont think all of sdr2 is from kamukuras first person view and you are playing as him and komaeda is self aware the entire game

i finally have a free weekend so im going to try and actually finish this before i lose my mind

i love love lov elove kamukoma when its inbetween despair and udg, like that phase where they were just barely living

its post-apocalyptic, theyre just traveling from city to city alive by the skin of their teeth, staying in the abandoned suburbs, junkos been dead for god knows how long

my favorite part about it is definitely how its not touched by the main canon and its only vaguely referenced that they were staying together

i like to imagine that a lot of those days were so long and uneventful that the only good part of the day is when they finally get to sleep, not that kamukura ever falls asleep for longer than short bursts at a time, but just the dead silence of it all, komaeda silently waking up to force kamukura to sleep and take over watching out the window for possible approaching survivors or even future foundation vans, its so dark and so silent and theyre both so exhausted that neither of them feel the need to mask anything, its sopoeticccahh
