Airachnid was empoyed by the senate as a biologist. Mainly tasked with patching tarn together after torture sessions, she learned how to make prosthetics for him. This led her to create Airachnid industries, the biggest prosthetics company in the world.
But that didn't satiate her needs for knowledge. She looks at tarn and ponders the limits of man. How much can the body and mind go through before they break, and more importantly, how do you push a body past its break point.
Of course, capturing people to experiment on isn't easy. A lot of red tape, and questions from the senate. So what does she do? She makes them. A batch of test subjects made from her own; ans other tangled dna. These children only had numbers, but eventually picked their own names when they wers taken from airachnids care

Each of the animal minicons, such as laserbeak, are created too, but she considers them to be failed creations.
Each of these children was created to defy death on one way or another, vigorous mental and physical tests. Until, eventually, the autobots raid the facility.
Optimus reaches out to soundwave in the decepticons; wanting to disperse the children evenly among the sides. Soundwave gets their usual casetters, and blaster takes rewind. The terrans are given to a veteran and a history teacher in neutral territory. The maltos.
Airachnid continues her research, using cameras in each facility, as well as hacking into the feed of soundwave's prosthetic eyes to study the children, and learn how they adapt after such strain. Soundwave and blaster die in the war at different points, and most of the children are taken in by Prowl and Orin [knockout]. Both men lost their respective soulmates and have found a small level of solice in eachothers company. Around this time, Airachnid is pronounced dead.
Rewind and prowl are in a bookshop one day, and she feels eyes. Like shes being watched. She turns, and finds her mothers eyes staring at her through the store. A book. Airachnid published a book. Six months after her death.
The book details their lives, and traumas for the world to read. Frenzy and rumble learn that cicuta was watching them through soundwaves eyes, and any semblence of safety they felt has been shattered
The book also details her own body modifications. Metal spider limbs in her back to help her traverse the long tunnels faster, the 6 extra eyes full of hundreds of tiny cameras, and her manually slowed heartbeat to steady her hands.
She used the book to discuss ways to enhance man. To fix fatal flaws of our biology to proceed in evolution. The book is hailed as a marvel of science, despite its unethical beginings.
And now Orin and Prowl have to pick up the pieces of these childrens lives.
