My name is Bilal. I am a 35-year-old father of four children 👨‍👧‍👦 from Gaza. I lived a simple life with my family. I worked hard every day to provide my children with a decent life and a better future.

But the war took everything from us… 💔

In a sudden bombing, my home was destroyed, and the place that once brought my family together became nothing but ruins. I lost several members of my family, and I, my wife, and my daughter were injured, leaving us with deep physical and emotional suffering.

After losing my home, my job, and my only source of income, I became unable to work because of my injuries. My responsibilities became greater than my ability to provide. Today, I live with my children in a small, worn-out tent ⛺ that does not protect us from the heat of the sun ☀️, the cold of winter ❄️, insects 🐜, or rats 🐭 that have become part of our daily struggle.

Even the little food we manage to get 🍞 does not remain safe for us, as the rats eat it, and my children cannot eat it afterward. We are living in extremely difficult conditions, trying only to survive through fear and hardship 💔.

The tent where we live is located near the yellow line, and we have nowhere else to go or a safe place to shelter. It breaks my heart to see my children suffering while I cannot provide what they need 😢.

I ask kind-hearted people ❤️ to stand with me and help us provide medical treatment for my wife and daughter 🏥, secure the basic needs for my children, and help us overcome these unbearable circumstances after losing everything.

Because of the war in Gaza, I lost everything — my home 🏚️ and my work in law, as I am a law graduate ⚖️. My wife and my daughter Malak suff

few updates you guys need to know about what's happening as an aftermath of 20th july & still the continued protest-

• they've started detaining students liberally. if you're going to the protest or coming from it they're very likely to detain you (the police has spread it check points all across central delhi). you'll be denied entry by auto or even walk, they'll either try to scare you away or detain you. if you're coming from other state especially by railway you'll be asked what are you here for & be asked to prove it.

• the government has blocked 17 metro stations surrounding jantar mantar. for some reason they're also covering up janpath & other nearby metro stations. all entrances to jantar mantar have been closed off & a complete internet shutdown near jantar mantar.

• they are denying lawyers contact with their clients. they've also been denied entry in police station to speak to their clients, that inspector has apologized qa of now & an internal investigation for his behaviour is said to have started.

• they're also making sure that the protesters have no access to food, water or electricity. last night electricity supply to janpath was cut off ++ the police are now stopping delivery men at check points & seizing food ordered by supporters from all across the country (don't worry they have enough food).

• cafes & shops in connaught place have been given a legal notice to shut down by 6 (since many of them were providing free water & washroom services to protesters). even nearby hotels have denied room booking to doctors.

• many creators have been offered money to speak against the protest & start a hate campaign.

• we are under complete state surveillance. the police is using meta ai glasses to record the protesters, and is later running a facial recognition check on them.

anyways if you're still planning to go this weekend because no more office & let's be honest none of us will stop showing our support no matter how much they try to scare us, here are few things you should remember.

there’s a notion I’ve seen people spread that I don’t like when it comes to deltarune human designs ( I don’t think it’s wrong to see the monsters as white bc I sure do for a few of them ). but when people hc characters as black ( say specifically Noelle + berdly ) people jump to “oh! Well Noelle can’t be black, she’s a corny preppy rich girl!” “Berdly can’t be black, he’s and annoying nerd.” What makes you think black people cant act like this 😭

Do you think being rich and living in the suburbs + being nerdy and corny is white exclusive traits 😭 do you think being silly or geeky or dainty and soft are traits black people cant have 😭 like it really shows that people think of certain personalities as “white default” and if a black person acts that way its unrealistic . I think you need to unpack what you think a black person should behave like for you to think this way 😭😭😭😭

The thing is I was so pleasantly surprised that it was such a widely accepted hc to think of tenna as black!!! I was genuinely so happy about that!! ( esp tenna being so layered and complicated and not being that great a person all the time) we get happy seeing people treating black people as actual human beings!!! The bare minimum!!!

But I think it just holds a conversation about the way people push black people / characters in the box all the time. Like we’re not allowed to flawed/imperfect/be annoying/ get upset or angry be short tempered like other characters or they’re seen as “aggressive” “unreasonable” or a racist depiction bc they dare show a human emotion . But if they have no flaws / relatively sweet, geeky and silly, animated or bubbly but people say they “aren’t interesting” or find them “boring. “Too much” “I care about the other characters more”.

I don’t think there should be a justification or “a reason” for characters can be black . They’re just people, but the way talk about this makes it feel like there needs to be a reason. You just don’t see them as human enough to coexist with everyone else.

Especially with blue being introduced in this newest chapter ( THE MOST EXPLICITLY BLACK CODED DELTARUNE CHARACTER BTW ) who is a kind, gentle and feminine gender non conforming black man people have truly just don’t know how to behave.

( denying his blackness in the first place bc of how he acts. “he’s blue, not black”) whitewashing him by straightening his hair ( he literally has locs in his sprite) or finding some excuse to not care about him at all. like we know exactly the type of people you are if this is how you react to the very explictly black coded character in general 😭

Trying to keep this short, but I have several surgeries coming up, and a PET scan which will tell me if i have cancer. They're thinking i have lymphoma. sometimes it’ll be inconvenient. sometimes you will have to sit through a movie you don’t enjoy and still say, “it was nice!” sometimes you’ll have to forgive them for things, and sometimes you’ll have to have tough conversations. human connection is often about learning how and why and what and when to care about another person. at least the one’s that are worth it. it might cost a couple more emotional dollars, and the shipping is a couple business days more, but it’s worth it.

I know exactly who needs to hear this but you need to talk to black people offline. You need to talk to black people who are nothing like you AND! You need to purposefully expose yourself to minorities you disagree with, not as the best of friends but so you can handle the fact that they exist and that its still not your fucking right to try to control them.

I am Jaafar from Gaza. I am currently in northern Gaza, and we have not yet been displaced to the south. Things are very difficult here — the cost of moving to the south is $1,000, and a single tent also costs $1,000, if we can even find a place in southern Gaza. The south is overcrowded, and renting a plot of land costs $1,000 per month, or even more depending on the area. 🙂😢
