Well well well, look who is crawling back.
I've not been here since 2017 and in that time many changes have taken place, I can now grow a beard, I've completely lost all hope that was once there. That said many things have stayed the same, I'm still broke, I still draw dumb stuff and most of it has no utility. I still have a Patreon and Instagram. I've completely given up on Twitter as anything butt a place I go when I've been feeling ok and I need to have my day ruined. That's basically a quick catch up, if you ever followed me here and you weren't removed in the great pornge, then hey how are ya, say hi maybe? Last time I was here, it was basically an abyss, nothing I posted seemed to resonate with anyone, which is fair I am awful. Someone told me that Tumblr has settled down and is kind of chill, which seems oddly comforting. I'm sure I'll find a way to use it incorrectly, to not benefit me in anyway and become yet one more time suck. Instagram has become a dumpster fire where you can't see anything and nobody can see you and you have to pay them to even have a chance, but really they just want you to TikTok and call it Reels. Suppose what I'm saying is, I'm looking to diversify my time suck portfolio.
Why I’m somewhere else.
The short answer is tumblr is a dumpster fire and I don’t know how to use it and nobody gave a shit when I did. Longer answer is, I’m still on Instagram, I just seem to be able to navigate it better, so if you want art updates that’s the place to visit. I post something almost everyday, unless I don’t.
I also now have a fancy Patreon. Go here https://www.patreon.com/ugis if you would like to support me in a small, but meaningful way. I thought for a long time that just posting shit for free to entertain random people who accidentally stumbled across my shit would someday pay off, it never did and so I guess this is an attempt to at least let those that can/want to support me, without me having to create more landfill. Patreon is also where I currently post blogs, I’ve even done some videos, so if you want to hear the dumb way I speak, it’s the place for that. Maybe the one of you that followed me here will find your way over there or maybe not. I’m doing some shit and I suppose if it’s super important and I want that one extra eye on it, I will post it here. Ok bye bye.
My Top 33 Songs of 2016
Here are my favorite 33 songs released in 2016 and some anecdotal quips attempting to trick you into giving them a chance. The songs are presented in alphabetical order by artist, because number ones are for toilets. Click play!
Animals As Leaders – The Brain Dance Theoretically instrumental progressive music is right up my alley, but as a whole album this is like trying to read Infinite Jest while also listening to an audiobook of The Three-Body Problem. Point being it’s probably brilliant, but also overwhelming. There are great flourishes and very heavy energetic moments, all interspersed with what sound like Eastern European news show opening themes, far more intricate than what is to follow. The Brain Dance is one of the few songs that I enjoyed all the way through and out of the context of the album gains some genuine emotion.
ANOHNI – Marrow The solo effort from the singer of Antony and the Johnsons which is a band that never really worked for me. In a way this album was a pleasant surprise. Obviously if you don’t like the vocals you won’t like this, the electronic instrumentals on this are by Hudson Mohawke and Oneohtrix Point Never which was what got me to check it out. I think overall the whole album is worth a listen, though I can’t blame anyone for thinking it’s a bit cringy and on the nose. If you enjoy Marrow I suggest trying Why Did You Separate Me from the Earth? which gives you a good range of the sound of the album.
BADBADNOTGOOD - Confessions Pt II (featuring Colin Stetson) & In Your Eyes (feat Charlotte Day Wilson) Not sure how to describe it, perhaps Confessions Pt II is heavy cyclical jazz and In Your Eyes is a soul throwback. From the very first album where BBNG did covers of James Blake electronic/trip hoppy wanderings, I’ve been intrigued. On their third album they almost sounded like a stripped down Tortoise with the track CS60. It’s difficult to explain why they appeal to me, but they continue to use simple materials to produce interesting diverse results. This was also the first time I heard Charlotte Day Wilson, possibly the best vocalist without an album of her own.
case/lang/veirs – Atomic Number Neko Case, K.D. Lang, and Laura Veirs, coming together to make one of my favorite albums of the year and this was the first song I heard and sold me instantly. The album also has great replay value and is something you can put on during a casual dinner with rich friends in your million dollar bungalow by the ocean.
Charlotte Day Wilson – Work She didn’t release a full album, but she did put out a digital EP and collaborated with several other artists, like froyo ma, IGLOOGHOST, and BBNG. This is a fairly simple trip hop track, it basically rests on her voice and melody both of which are superb and invite me to put it on repeat. I will give anything she does a listen.
David Bowie – Girl Loves Me Bowie put out one of my instant favorite albums of the year and then days later died, this song is stuck in my head, because he specifically sings; “ Where the fuck did Monday go?” Monday was the day he died or at least the day I found out he did. It really was a gut punch at the very beginning of the year. I actually wasn’t able to listen to the album for well about a year after that or any of his music. I finally at the very end got my dad the album and then re-listened to it, this song still makes me emotionally compromised. I think it’s that he didn’t put out that sad folk album that many older musicians are expected to produce, he put out an aggressive progressive electronic melodic monster. For those that do enjoy the album, they just put out an EP that has three bonus songs, one of which is maybe heavier than anything on Blackstar.
Devin Townsend – Time Overload (demo) This track appears on the bonus CD of Devin’s album Transcendence, it’s all supposed demos, though his standards are so high that how can you possibly tell. Although the actual album has great tracks on it, this demo stuck out to me as just about the catchiest pop metal track I’ve heard in a long time. There is a kind of almost industrial edge to it, but it’s basically a sing along pop song, that also scares the elderly.
DJ Shadow Feat RunTheJewels – Nobody Speak I’ve heard about RTJ for a while and obviously Killer Mike’s endorsement of Bernie was yet another highlight of the year, but somehow I hadn’t heard their music. This was the first exposure, in this case produced by DJ Shadow in a reworked take of Ol’ Man River by Caterina Valente. The video is glorious and cathartic and the lyrics are pure poetry: “Flame your crew quicker than Trump fucks his youngest” Overall it’s just a fun bouncy rap track.
Flume - Take a Chance (feat. Little Dragon) I’ve made mixes previously of just Little Dragon contributing vocals to other artists. I will give anything Little Dragon does a chance. In this case this is an almost dub stepy electro pop track, it’s a great contrast as she brings the coldness of the instrumental back to melody.
Goblin Cock – Bothered Rob Crow came back with an vengeance in 2016, he dropped a Goblin Cock album plus EP that I have yet to hear and then two Anal Trump releases with 40 songs totaling 3:36min. I just wish I’d gotten the chance to see them live, maybe next year I will be less destitute. They also get the award for the best album title, Necronomidonkeykongimicon. EDIT I totally forgot that Rob Crow also released You’re Doomed. Be Nice. as Rob Crow's Gloomy Place. That bastard is a prolific monster that makes the rest of us look like lazy sods.
hyphyskazerbox - Not As Punk Rock Electronic wonderment, I really don’t know anything else about the artist here, just that the album is sometimes difficult and sometimes engaging and worth a listen if you like electronic wizardry.
James Blake - I Need A Forest Fire (feat. Bon Iver) I really wanted to like the album, but it just felt unfocused and often too brittle even for me. There were however some very strong highlights. There is a great EP in this album, that’s what I would say. Overgrown was a way more satisfying listening experience overall, so if you’re new to James, I’d start there.
Kaada/Patton – Papillon Mike Patton puts out so much material it’s impossible to listen to all of it, but when I get a chance there is always something worth my time. This collaboration with Kaada produced a track that belongs on a soundtrack if it isn’t already.
Kaytranada - WEIGHT OFF (feat. BADBADNOTGOOD) Yes BBNG is back again, this time in a collaboration with a producer, who also on the same album collaborates with Little Dragon. It’s a short and simple groove with textures, that’s all it is just a catchy bit of analog drum n bass, but it got a whole lotta play in 2016.
M83 – Time Wind (featuring Beck) This song got me looking deeper into Becks catalog, I don’t know how I even came across this song. It’s basically 80’s electro pop, which isn’t a search I’ve ever done.
Maggie Rogers – Alaska I’m guessing I wasn’t the only person that saw her play this track for Pharrell Williams while she was still in music school. I was just as intrigued or perhaps it’s the hope that the next crop of pop artists will be more interesting and not insipid marketing hype.
Melt Yourself Down – Jump the Fire Kushal Gaya’s vocals are mesmerizing, whether it’s in Melt Yourself Down or in Zun Zun Egui, there is an energy that I highly appreciate. Whatever the style and the styles are varied, there is a frenetic force always keeping me interested. There is also a kind of punk sensibility to what they do, if you see a live performance, they basically seem like super energetic street musicians.
Metá Metá - Toque Certeiro Ever since I did a deep dive into the Jorge Ben discography I’ve been coming across more Brazilian musicians that speak to me, even if I don’t understand what they are saying. In this case when I heard this track I realized I already knew the singer Juçara Marçal, having fallen hard for her track Candombe, where she collaborates with Cadu Tenório. Also I’d already heard some of her solo album Encarnado, which has a distinct punky math rocky edge, but without drums, instead other instruments and her voice doing interesting noodly gymnastics. Metá Metá however is a heavier Brazilian jazz fusion band at least on their third album. Mick Jenkins ft. BADBADNOTGOOD – Drowning Yes BBNG is my MVP of the year. They did the music to this eerie song that I can’t listen to without seeing the police kill Eric Garner. I’m not sure if the song is directly referencing that, but that’s what I get from it and on top of that it’s a good song.
Moniker – Ricky Runs I will find music wherever I can, in this case I saw the movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople in a tiny theater in Montgomery, AL and found my self captivated by the soundtrack. This song reminds me of the post rock band 35007 or at least the drumming does. The movie is also very good, Rhys Darby cosplays about the most convincing bush I’ve ever seen.
Opeth - Will O The Wisp I think Mikael has been listening to lots of Jethro Tull. I’ve tried to enjoy the whole album, but I continue to fail, it’s actually similar in some ways to the James Blake album, in that I think there is a great EP here. I’m sure I will be excited and look out for whatever he does next, but this just didn’t hit me the way I wished, it may just take some time to grow on me as a whole. Also very oddly one of my favorite tracks called The Ward ended up as a bonus track, why Mikael, why?
Oranssi Pazuzu - Vasemman Käden Hierarkia This might be my favorite black metal album in a long time, I’m not sure I can even call it black metal, but unlike others that tread that line it’s not folk either. I would say this album is more progressive and possibly doomy at times. This track is actually the most traditionally black metal, with a really sexy repeating riff grooving along. As a bonus it comes back near the end slower and heavier and it’s highly satisfying, like taking a journey. Just in general it’s less trebly and more crushing in a warm bassy way.
Radiohead - Burn The Witch Well the bastards did it again, put out an excellent album, and this one is very approachable while still pushing sound combinations and bringing it all together in a satisfying way. This album also feels more organic than some recent things they have been playing with.
Reza Safinia - The Train Another soundtrack song, this one from a movie called The Trust about a caper of sorts, bonus being that Nic Cage screams in Frodos face. Actually a good soundtrack, that isn’t just a variation on John Williams or Harry Gregson-Williams or Hans Zimmer or whoever we’re supposed to pretend is oh so very good.
Run The Jewels - A Report To The Shareholders : Kill Your Masters Just before the year ended RTJ pushed out their third album and it’s a monster. The second half starting at Don't Get Captured really takes off into some political and deeper thoughts that speak to me. This particular track ends the album and really it’s two tracks, oh and then at the very end Zack shows up and brings the anger. I highly appreciate the sentiments and I’m glad there is a band with this much exposure that is stepping into these subjects.
Swans - When Will I Return? I didn’t even hear the rest of the album, but I have a feeling this was probably the most upbeat, poppy of the lot. I will get to it eventually, but for now this enough to remind me of that mood that SGM & Art Bears would deliver.
Sylvan Esso – Radio They were on the radar already, I’d heard some tracks from their eponymous album. There was an interesting track called Dress that stuck with me, possibly because it reminded me a bit of Harriet Ohlsson of Oh, Harry And Hellsongs. Anyhow the point is that Radio is another example of what Pop music could be if only there were some discerning brave purveyors of popular consumable media.
Tor – Myth Pretty sure the intro guitar bit is taken from the Motorcycle Diaries soundtrack. It’s just chill relaxing groovy stuff that will no doubt end up on Coffee Shop Grooves Vol 34. I’m not trying to dismiss it, I dig music that isn’t assaulting me at every turn just as much as I like music that challenges me. This fits neatly somewhere with Bonobo or Tycho.
Tortoise - Shake Hands With Danger Another case of me thinking it would be a brilliant album, but it kind of didn’t materialize. Again this may be me not getting it at the moment, maybe five years from now I will love it. Until then though, there are some strong stand out tracks, this one being probably my favorite just for how unrelenting and heavy the beat is. Having seen them live and knowing just how heavy they are, this would no doubt punch a hole in my chest. Other tracks on this album that tickled my fancy Gesceap and Ox Duke.
A Tribe Called Quest - The Space Program An enjoyable track and album, like RTJ highly respected musicians speaking up and addressing things that somehow sound less authentic coming from Makelmore.
Tycho – Division Possibly the heaviest Tycho song, which should give you an idea of how not heavy the band generally tends to be. I’ve liked them for a while, their songs have this spacey driving quality, make me feel like driving through the Arizona canyons.
Woods - Can't See At All They get the award for having the worst album cover of the year. I also don’t think I could handle a whole album worth of his voice, but this track has a nice retro groove.

The Ntur Het
Hey, I don’t get it, what’s it all about?
I recently got a taste of the internet, I have a friend, he draws bats with tits and cats with knives, he has 65 thousand followers on Instagram. I drew his cat and bat and suddenly I went from 200 followers, half of who were friends or associates, to now over 1,300 followers. This all happened because my friend re-posted some of my drawings of his characters. Some of them just liked the cat and bat, some went back and even liked my shit that has no tits or knives. I was excited and a couple folks even bought some art and that was excellent. I can’t pretend it didn’t re-energize me, so perhaps, because I know I’m not throwing my shit into a complete void I’ve done more pieces, the newest is a collaboration with Tittybats, which means he’s selling it and I drew it. If you’re into t-shirts get this http://tittybats.storenvy.com/collections/1232394-shirts/products/16366221-preorder-stab-america-hole-again-knifecat-shirt Just for fun here are some mocks up of the piece, before the final was done.
Jorge Ben Jor
One of the things that keeps me from burning this world down is music. So when I find something that clutches at me emotionally or aesthetically I get obsessed. In this case Jorge Ben had come across my radar years ago, but I simply didn’t have access to his catalog and not until I discovered most of it on Spotify did I realize it was the opportunity I’d been waiting for.
So here is my whittled down favorite tracks from his 60′s & 70′s era. He put out at least one album every year since 1963 and while the albums were generally short, it still took a long time to listen through all of it. Hopefully at least one other person will give this playlist a listen and understand why I became obsessed. Perhaps you may just find your own reason to not scorch this blue dot to the mantle. For you completists, I did not include any tracks from his 73 album “10 Anos Depois”, because it’s kind of a compilation/medley type of album, so if you want to hear alternate takes, this is for you. I also did not include any tracks from his collaboration with Gilberto Gil, it’s worth a listen, but has a very different feel and is generally a more difficult listen as the tracks stretch well over the 10 minute mark. It is also a reworking of songs with different instrumentation and tempos. Fun side note for you Rod Stewart fans, you may get a kick out of the track Taj Mahal.
Facebukkake
I’ve been off the radar for a while, at least here, if you want to follow shorter bursts of bullshit and artshit, follow my Instagram. Here is the latest sample of the kind of horror I’m responsible for.
I guess I’m not getting a job at Facebook anytime soon. I have several projects in the pipeline that are various levels of stupid, some might even be good. The most important thing is that I will be at Fluke this year in Athens, in theory if I don’t drop the ball I will have new awesome cool stuff for everyone to enjoy.
Pouch Pool
A client asked me to draw Deadpool, apparently this was not what they meant.
I have failed once again to grasp fan art. The ink drawing of this is currently available, contact me if you’re interested.
Punk Poster
The composite sketch I used to scale up and trace on the 11 x 17.
I used tracing paper to figure out the lettering and then traced again unto the final piece.
Here are the finished pencils.
Here are the finished inks with some photoshop details, hopefully they aren’t distracting. Most of the decisions made had to do with trying to not lose readability, cause I almost did. Obviously this piece needs to attract eyes and then get people to go to the show. With that in mind here is the link to the event page.
I won’t go into the bloody details, but there is a reason this is also a tribute to The Humans from Image Comics by Keenan Marshall Keller & Tom Neely.
Affordable Elephant Show
If you’re in the Savannah, GA area this Friday you should come to Sulfur Studios from 6 to 9pm. Some of my pieces will be in a group show called White Elephant, it is an invite only group show, where the idea was to keep things affordable and in most cases small. None of the pieces are above 50 dollars and some are only 10. It’s a bit of a sketchbook show and a bit just about art that is easy to impulse buy. It’s interesting to see the variety and the value people place on their work. I’ll be honest we’re putting up the show right now and it’s dangerous to know that I can actually buy some, because I love art, but can rarely afford it. It’s a difficult balance, especially when you know how much time you spent working on it and how much effort went into getting the skills to be able to do it at all. If only people bought art based on our sad personal stories, not the initial aesthetics or pop familiarity. I know that the instinct is to under-price things, to basically lose money on every single thing you do, cut your self at the knees. Partially it’s the sea of competition or at least perceived competition and the very real situation that when some people don’t value their work it creates an environment where assholes will try to squeeze everyone's lemon even more, until everyone is expected to just feel lucky to make art. I don’t feel lucky to make art, because it’s neither easy nor comforting, it’s just the thing that I can do and there is a chance to enjoy it, but I’m not doing it for the money and if you want proof I can forward you my bank statement. I am not tuned in on what sells or what people like, I just do what I do and I try to do it well.
Here is a preview of the nine pieces I have in the show, I’m sure if one of my former teachers comes they will tell me I’m underselling my self. Sometimes though I just want the price to not be what stands in the way, also I can’t eat the art or live off my self respect.
Space Trucking
I haven’t updated here in a while, so here is a little breakdown of a recent design I did for Green Truck Pub in Savannah, GA. It was their 5th anniversary and I was asked to design a t-shirt for the occasion. Below are some of the steps it took to get to the final piece.
These were the original sketches, at that point I was playing around with a logo I was going to design. Eventually after getting some specs about size restrictions from the printer I had to narrow my scope down a bit to fit into a 12″ x 12″ square. My other goal was to keep the color count limited as each color would require a separate screen. Fun fact I ended up looking at a Mig29 engine, those things are brutal.
At some point someone suggested a spacestation, also the final design is starting to come together in the bottom left.
Took me a while to find the right dynamic angle that would still read as a truck.
That’s the final composition, at that point I was going to put a big 5 on the hood, for the final I wasn’t able to get it quite right.
I took my favorite sketches and put them together, printed it out in black and white and used it for the final to make sure my size and composition was correct. At this point I was using the official font the pub uses.
This the ink drawing at actual size a bit smaller than 12″ x 12″. However it became clear that the truck would get lost in the composition, so in the computer several things were adjusted.
I designed it for a green or other mid-tone shirt, which meant the white and black would be printed.
However due to the actual color of the green shirts it was decided to go with a black shirt, which meant that the white and green were printed. At the request of the owner I fixed the roof of the truck to more accurately represent the 65 Chevy Stepside. We also decided the font didn’t really fit the theme.
Here I am modeling it, believe it or not that’s me smiling. P.S. There are three spaceships docked at the spacestation, can you work out what they are, first person to deduce correctly will get a small sketch from me. Click on ask in the toolbar and include your address with your guess. Feel free to go to http://ugisart.com/T-shirts-Posters-Logos-Etc and click fullscreen to get a better look.
Corn Jorb
I’m back from Heroes and i’ve got a few pictures and some thoughts.
Here’s me and John Golden at the very start, bright eyed and ready to shill our crap. I’m the excited one on the right, John is all business.
Behind us is where Stan Lee would show up on Saturday and hundreds if not thousands would pay 100 bucks a pop to stand in line to get something signed and then stand in line again to get a picture taken with him.
That’s just some of the crowd, I didn’t have enough megapixels to capture all of them.
Here’s me with this interesting cover Jordan Fitch Mooney came up with for our What If...? collaboration. If I didn’t fear getting my neck broken by one of the body guards I would have given Stan a copy.
I did one commission for a friend, I sold a few prints to friends, and a mini anthology. I’m pretty sure I sold only one 5 dollar piece to someone I didn’t know, Kudos to you sir, you made it all worth it.
Friend and contributor to the What If...? booklet Steve Beach visited and did a couple of cool pieces for the Drink N Draw. Whoever bought them is very happy, all I have is this shitty photo I took. Overall thoughts about the experience are mixed, I’m writing this to basically have some record so that next time I consider going I can look back and maybe remember more clearly. I lost hundreds of dollars, I don’t want to go into specific numbers, because honestly I don’t know. I realize now that breaking even was an extremely rosy notion. Not that anyone that tables for the first time makes money, I paid lots of money to learn some valuable lessons, one of which might be that I may not do this again, at least not for a while. I learned things about table displays, like having some vertical displays would help, since most people walk down the middle of the isle trying to avoid the snake oil salesmen that are trying to shovel garbage down their throat. I suppose the worse your product is the louder you gotta scream about it. Most people glanced at the table then the banner and were gone. There was no time to do much more than to say hey. I did manage to give some folks a chuckle which was fun. I would say most folks though didn’t even glance at the table just saw us and decided we weren’t worth their time. My prices were probably too high, I over valued the niche within a niche that I was going for. I know that I’m not interested in finding out what works far as what I create or bring, pandering is not my strong suit. I know I’m not going to win any sales awards either, I treat people the way I like to be treated, which is I leave them alone, if they like something they can make up their own mind. Not that I’m hands off, if they lingered at all I would tell them about what we were doing. It didn’t help sales 95% of the time. I don’t really know if the problem was location, as a large portion of people were going to the bathrooms or perhaps we were next to things that were in no way related to what we were doing and so if they stopped next door, they really had no reason to the continue on to us. Or perhaps we’re just nobody and had nothing anyone wanted in the ocean of future landfill. I got to talk to some people, but it was all small talk, a bit of fawning, I showed my portfolio to some personal heroes and that got a good response, so that raised my spirits. I did go to the drink and draw, I did three pieces. I went to the auction for a second, but I don’t really get that, maybe because I can’t buy art. I went to the BBQ at the end and saw lots of talented folks walking around, I didn’t bother them because I didn’t know what to say to them and I didn’t want to just give them handjobs. There were these strange moments where because I was part of a group I did things I wouldn’t have if I’d been alone. This was probably good, because I got to experience things through this weird lens of what a more social version of me might do. I still felt completely out of place and thought I would be asked to leave any minute. The weekend had a strange surreal dream like feeling, I even drank a single beer called Dragons Milk, I worry about how they milked it. We had a cool AirBnB apartment about 20 min walking distance from the convention center. Amelie’s French Bakery is delicious, Mert’s is delectable, and Smelly Cat Coffee which is down the road from Amelie’s is probably the best coffee in town. Time may change my outlook, but right now I don’t see my self going back to a con this big without a book or something, so that maybe there is at least a chance someone would be there to see me. I can see going to a con as a thank you to fans you already have, but making fans by going without a product now seems extremely obtuse. At the end of the con I went around and gave some folks I respect some of the stuff I made, hopefully they enjoyed it.
Heroes Con With A Vengeance
So a few things are happening, if you follow me on Instacrap you already know.
First of all I will have prints of Mr. Bane, I mean Bean breaking Batman.
But also the booklets came and that’s possibly the most exciting part, because that’s why the Mr. Bean even exists. Anyhoo if you’re going to HeroesCon, be sure to stop by Artists Alley 2028 where I will be squatting/squawking but you can find the other contributors at AA-1628 & AA-228.
I still have a million last minute things to do, so I’m off the grid till Heroes!
What if ... I went to HeroesCon?
Well turns out I will be at HeroesCon, all three days in fact, if you want to find me I will be hanging out with friend Russ in Artist Alley 2028. If you’re worried about finding me, here is a handy map with a completely not overstated arrow.
I can hear you saying, but where have you been, well I’ve been busy. To really drive the point home I got my self one of those fancy Instacrap accounts, feel free to visit it for spurts of random stuff I’m working on or doing. You may not care about all the stuff I’m doing, but most of it will be art related. So hey what have I been doing? Me and a couple of friends somehow peer pressured each other into going to HeroesCon. Now not all of us are superstars, in fact most of us are tabling for the first time in our lives at a con this big. So in an attempt to get some more sexy eyes upon us and our friends we decided to put together a book of fantasy What If...? covers. Once the ball was rolling and some of the initial submissions showed up, that inspired others and without tooting too much horn, we got a total of 13 contributors. Here is the list of the brave Eschatologists:
Timothy Weaver Russ Badgett John Caldwell Steven Miller Jose Ray Jordan Fitch Mooney Michael Lee Harris Steve Beach Stephen Green Corin Howell John Golden Ugis Berzins David Hill, II Oh yeah I did one too :)
If everything goes according to the poorly organized plan, then there will be booklets at HeroesCon, if not then there will at least be prints. Either way come say howdy, I’ll show you the original inked page. P.S. The Bane breaking Batman and the Zsasz Knightfall covers we’re the first comics I ever owned, they really grabbed me and made me want to read the stories inside.
I've heard through the grapevine that you may be coming to HeroesCon, is this a dirty lie I've been fed by liars?
Sure is, least as far as getting a table goes. I would like to, but am pretty broke. Just dipped in to savings after my old lap top shit itself. Maybe I’ll stop by. I don’t know. I guess I might be able to stay with someone down that way. I have family everywhere. Shit, man. Plans are so nerve-racking. Not doing the thing, which is inevitably fine, but, you know, making the fucking plans. Bugs me out. Really, like I’ll do ridiculous irresponsible, potentially fatal, nonsense because it seemed funny, on a whim, but ask me to plan a party and I get all hand wringing nervous. So maybe? Should I?
Technically it was anonymous, but really it was me, because I wanted to know. Steve you are always welcome to stay with anyone if that’s the deciding factor. If yer counting actual votes, then yes you should come, but I fully understand the apprehension. I would also recommend the Sean Murphy 2: The Quickening but that costs even more money, though would be extremely helpful far as skipping many bullshit steps and having a vocal proponent on your side in the industry. I mean I can only do so much to help the assholes notice you and throw money at you. Point is someday they will and I will scream in their dumb tiny faces, I told you, you dumb fucks! Anyhoo, till that day though we’re poors and most of our decisions are based on navigating life knowing our place which is probably near a dumpster. Hope to see you at Heroes, even if it’s just visiting, but you’re way beyond me and most of my cohorts and should be tabling, because you would rake in that stank ass commission cash. I’ve been working on several things, but this one was on my drawing table for many months. It’s a design for 13 Bricks Clothing. I will probably write up a process post at some point, but for now I’m just eager to share it.
I will also inform you where and when the t-shirts will be available. I’m quite proud of this piece, hopefully folks dig it and buy the crap out of it. I’m excited about the notion of seeing one of these in the wild. If you want to see it in more detail go to ugisart.com and click on fullscreen.
