The Elegance And Strength Of This Year's Boot Styles In Paris, France
It's the winter season, and it's time to bring out the leather boots. The Paris runways this christmas season have seen several boot trends geared for the fall – from traditional monochromes to lots of hardware, and from combat boots to metallics. Regardless of whether or not they are as effortless to walk in as brogues, the big fashion designers have devised some arresting and modern designs that we'd love to own.
Valentino's use of clean silhouettes and attractive motifs during the 2014 Fall/Winter Paris Fashion Week were countered by statement high-gloss mid-calf boots in different shades including rose, red and moss green which added a smooth, 1970s’ vibe to the range. Not surprisingly, suede is a classic for boots, but the hot color for fall is wine. Simultaneously, last spring's love for metallic shades can't be dismissed. Saint Laurent dressed up their monochrome and blingy collection of short skirts and dresses with metallic go-go boots in black and silver. Sacai also decided to stick with delicate, smooth flat leather boots of various lengths to accompany its layered and multi-textured collection. Chloe, however, decided to go for gentle, enchanting grays and camel.
Leather boots with stacked heels or chunky combat-boot designs are specifically designed for those women who know their own minds. These types of boots are in this holiday season, with accentuated hardware or metal toes, as ankle length flats, heels with spikes and other variations that yell 'no nonsense'. It's great that they are incredibly versatile, coordinating equally as well with deep wash tight jeans and neat camel coats as with hippy dresses and skirts.
Alexander McQueen has emerged especially strong as a result of its fall apparel which included lots of boots. There were poignant large furs and girlie lace dresses, feathers, crystals and beads in Sarah Burton's 2014 fall/winter range at the Paris Fashion Week. For people that love chunky masculine boots, it was sweet to check out the autumn range paired with the chunky boots which are also very trendy these days. Steel toes were the standard theme, decorated with ruffles or furs on ankle boots to go along with the exotic, breathtaking looks that were pretty much out of the Grimms' faery stories. Although knee-length boots aren't as fashionable right now as they used to be, we did see an outstanding pair laced up all the way in a Gothic lolita matches Russian wolf-girl style.
There are some of us who still love the equestrian-style riding boots and the over-the-knee boots styles, with their established silhouettes. Regardless of our preferences, leather boots are a must-have. If the intense kinds are hard to walk in, there is the shootie – a mashup between a bootie and a shoe featuring a wedged heel for easy walking.
