❛ Mar, I wanna show you something. ❜    Harry gently grips Marley by her shoulders, steering her into the research station and guiding her up to the table. He can barely contain the excitement in his voice as he stops them in front of an area full of plastic bottles and containers. To the side of the plastic waste is a vial of liquid. Gingerly, Harry hands plastic goggles and gloves to Marley and proceeds to put his own on as well. 

Once they’re protected, Harry prepares a dropper full of the liquid and places it in Marley’s hand. He guides her, of course, taking her hand and moving it over one of the plastic bottles. With his fingers, he squeezes Marley’s forefinger and thumb together over the dropper, causing a tiny drop of the liquid to emerge and fall onto the bottle. The plastic the liquid lands on completely dissolves. 

❛ If we can perfect this… purify it a little more so it is harmless to living creatures… ❜    He takes the dropper from her, giddy with excitement,    ❛ … we could dissolve the plastic waste from the oceans. Imagine that? ❜    This was huge.

          at   first,   she's   a   little   confused   by   her   husband's   excitement,   but   if   there   was   anything   that   had   drawn   them   closer   to   each   other   through   out   the   years,   it's   the   passion   they   both   had   to   leave   this   place   better   than   the   way   than   they   found   it.   when   he's   through   with   the   demonstration,   marley   can't   help   but   jump   up   &   down   with   utter   glee.   there   were   so   many   ways   this   break   through   could   help!   ❝   we   could   do   that,   &   purify   it   enough   to   add   it   to   the   ocean...   imagine,   just   pushing   a   restart   button   on   some   of   the   pollution   of   the   world!   ❞   she   says,   her   blue   eyes   alight   with   happiness.             there's   a   ding   on   her   smart   watch,   &   she   looks   down   with   interest.   ugh,   a   meeting   with   kingpin   the   next   days.   the   piece   of   trash   still   liked   to   flirt   with   her,   even   though   he   knew   that   she   was   married   to   harry.   she's   sure   it's   just   politics,   but   she's   heard   enough   from   metropolis.   kingin   was   somehow   in   the   business   to   buy   shares   of   angel   fell   apartments...   but   little   did   he   know,   she   didn't   plan   on   selling   him   a   dime.   the   only   person   who   was   allowed   to   own   part   of   angel   fell   was   harry.   because   harry   truly   cared   about   the   cause   as   much   as   he   did.   ❝   nothing   important   ---   just   kingpin   still   trying   to   worm   his   way   into   my   life...   can't   peter   just   like...   take   care   of   him   yet?   ❞   the   last   words   are   only   spoken   because   there   was   no   one   around   for   miles:   this   was   the   research   lab   in   their   own   home.
