“Humanity has not progress with baby steps, it did so with leaps and strides and I would have it no other way for Connor. It was a stressful few minutes yes, but ultimately it brought out the best, deny all you like Leuitenent, we both know I’m right”
Elijah would allow the man to make his jabs, to be as uncouth as he desired, but the creator would have the last word in, as he always did.
“You think I don’t experience a result of this? My good man I created androids. I promised the world that they could never turn, never harm. And here we are, after an uprising that left hundreds dead. Comparatively a small number maybe but- You’re sadly mistaken Hank”
Elijah laughs, an empty sound, eyes falling shut for a moment before he lifts a hand to the bar man, a drink being slid along the bar towards his waiting palm.
Something small but undoubtedly strong by the smell.
“No. As happy as I am to see the fall out I will admit the last few weeks have become rather stressful. I was going to be called upon by the international regulators office as one point, I even heard rumors of ‘terrorist offenses’ being smeared against my name…but given the outcome of Deviation, with androids being actual ‘people’ and no longer mere objects, luckily for my sake some are hesitant to punish me for what is the awakening of a species we enslaved”
He shrugs and knocks his drink back, motioning for another.
“But this, as does everything, will pass. I won’t dwell on the situation as it is, but instead look forward to what will become of it all. Come now… you must be at least a little but excited, aren’t you Hank?”
Elijah definitely took Hank off his guard. The irritated expression that was all over Hank's face had faded to that of realization and -- what could have come off as guilt -- Something Hank was F A R too familiar with. Blue hues that were focused on the rust colored drink before him now shifted over to the creator, giving him the full attention that he deserved -- because of Hank's assumptions, he didn't see past the night he had met the man -- the night that made Hank bitter and Connor in peril.
--But as the android revolution came to a close and they got the rights that they demanded, it was far from over. Working with the DPD, there were still crimes against androids, the people that still did not agree with the uprising, and with Hank now working on the cases A G A I N S T androids -- he saw them all. So while the officers handled the violent cases, Hank had no idea that Elijah had to deal with far worse; the Media.
Watching the bartender get a drink for the creator, he eyed the poison he chose. Seemed the two of them were not so different after all; the stronger the better. Easier to drown. Lifting his hand up to the Bartender, though Hank's drink was still full, he got the mans attention. "Put it all on my tab." he mumbled to the bartender and turned his attention back to the creator, cerulean hues now locked onto Elijah. "Let me buy you a drink."
If Hank had to go through all the shit that Elijah was -- He feared that a drink just W O U L D N ' T be enough to calm his nerves. Hell, just working with the DPD Still gave Hank thoughts and desires of ceasing the monotony of the day, despite everything that had happened with the androids and his partner Connor -- it was a long term issue that always lingered on his back like a weight -- breaking him down.
So while Anderson wasn't very good with his words, the least he could do were actions; and buying this man a drink was a start. Sure, he could probably afford this whole bar - but it was the thought that counts.
"--Of course I'm excited." He then spoke up after a moments pause from speaking with the bartender. "I ain't never seen Connor this happy -- it's all he fuckin' talks about now." Eyes shifting to his drink, sliding the ice cubes around in the short glass. "Ya know -- It was so E A S Y to hate you. I never talked to Connor about it -- even after the night we went to you, I never brought it up again. But damn if I didn't forget. But I recall you sayin' something about an exit -- I dunno, I don't get all this mechanical android bullshit -- but--" He turned again to the other -- without this pompous asshole sitting next to him, he would never have Connor.
"--- Guess we have you to thank."
