I just want all of the skitz/fitzskye/fitzdaisy/whatever we’re calling it now shippers to know that I have one hell of a fic on the way because we really could do with it at this point. So have a tiny extract.

They’ve made a lot of promises to each other, some lie forgotten at the bottom of bottles of beer, some hover in the privacy of their bunks. Some are never forgotten, but never spoken of, and some are simple, vibrant, sometimes violent.

It’s so easy to keep promising things to someone when you think you have the rest of your lives to spare on them. It’s even easier when the rest of your life isn’t guaranteed to last past tomorrow.

“Fitz. Relax. He escaped and there’s nothing we can do about it. Plus, i need you to live…. live for me. Can you do that?”

Fitz could barely held his anger until Skye’s words came out of her. Her beautiful beautiful lips he thought. His softy smile appeared on his face a little.

“Fine but seriously if I ever see him again I will–” Skye quickly gave him a quick small kiss on his lips. Fitz didn’t finish his sentence. Of course he’d turned red.

“Shut up. We need to go now.” Said Skye before she ran off and left him behind. She knew he would follow her though.

(When I first read this, I saw it on my mobile and it just said ‘One time I got so high I thought I was Jesus’ and I started to worry about you. But I’m kind of borrowing from a scene from Parks and Rec)

“Wow, that’s…that’s good that you’re not doing it anymore,” Leo mumbled as he processed the information.”

“Another time, I jumped on a cop and actually brought him down to the ground when he was trying to arrest me during a protest on a college campus that me and some of my Rising Tide buddies kind of crashed,” Skye rambled on. “I’ve also tried to sell really cheap and kind of gross peach vodka I made with the group because we were bored one night, and I’ve-”

Leo held up his hands. “Hold up, why are you telling me all this?”

“I want you to hear all the bad stuff about me from only me and not someone else, just so it’s out there and you don’t think of me any less later on.”

“Skye, no matter what you’ve done, you’re not that person anymore, and nothing can make me ever think any less of you.”

Fitz grinned in spite of himself; the day’s uneventfulness hadn’t bothered him, but this innocent acknowledgment, after the year they’ve had, felt nice.

Fitz’s descend into sleep was interrupted by a buzzing from his bedside tabel. A message from Skye.

yo fitz. you awake?

no.

cool. come to the lab?

no.

pls. i need you. i’m lonely.  in need of a booty call.      jk. it’s important.

Fitz forced himself out of bed to discover Skye sitting at his desk with a large plush monkey on her lap.

“I know it’s last minute,” Skye began, “but I was gone for most of the day, so… Happy birthday.”
