How is a group of consumers collectively voicing their disinterest in Brianna’s product NOT an example of the free market at work?
Amen.

“My response to the “I am not a feminist” internet phenomenon…. First of all, it’s clear you don’t know what feminism is. But I’m not going to explain it to you. You can google it. To quote an old friend, “I’m not the feminist babysitter.” But here is what I think you should know. You’re insulting every woman who was forcibly restrained in a jail cell with a feeding tube down her throat for your right to vote, less than 100 years ago. You’re degrading every woman who has accessed a rape crisis center, which wouldn’t exist without the feminist movement. You’re undermining every woman who fought to make marital rape a crime (it was legal until 1993). You’re spitting on the legacy of every woman who fought for women to be allowed to own property (1848). For the abolition of slavery and the rise of the labor union. For the right to divorce. For women to be allowed to have access to birth control (Comstock laws). For middle and upper class women to be allowed to work outside the home (poor women have always worked outside the home). To make domestic violence a crime in the US (It is very much legal in many parts of the world). To make workplace sexual harassment a crime. In short, you know not what you speak of. You reap the rewards of these women’s sacrifices every day of your life. When you grin with your cutsey sign about how you’re not a feminist, you ignorantly spit on the sacred struggle of the past 200 years. You bite the hand that has fed you freedom, safety, and a voice. In short, kiss my ass, you ignorant little jerks.”

Yall know the “i’m not a feminist” “”phenomena”” has existed since feminism has been a thing right
(via adomenighini)
Don’t you DARE “mansplain” feminism to me. Don’t you DARE tell me I’m not “womaning” right!
It is clear from this disgusting outburst that you know NOTHING about modern feminism. It is today’s FEMINIST that spit on 200 years of hard work by giving exactly 0 shits about actual oppression in the world and instead cry about “manspreading” and start tags like #KillAllMen. They’re also the hate mob that bullies OTHER WOMEN who dare share a conflicting opinion. Your “internet trend” is women speaking out against misandry disguised as modern “feminism”. THAT’S what we’re against, and have fought 200 years to be able to SAY we’re against that foul behavior.
You’re disgusting, and owe women an apology.
not being able to walk alone at night
not being able to walk alone at any time really
being cat called
dress codes
“not all men”
“feminazi”
literally being murdered for turning men down
First two are...
This sort of thing is relatively common. Such as accusing the Honey Badgers of ‘disrupting and derailing a panel’ right up until the audio came out proving they were full of shit and the badgers hadn’t done a fucking thing.
Social Justice Authoritarians will lie ENDLESSLY. They can’t help themselves.

Calgary Expo is a toxic place run by immature, petty, greedy snakes that make me nervous about going to conventions. Comics WERE my safe space.

A few random thoughts about Self Defence and Rape Culture
I saw a few articles and videos that said that “Teaching girls self defence is promoting rape culture.” I hope people realise that learning self defence is helpful for a number of scenarios and will likely decrease the number of rapes occurring. If doing something to prevent something promotes the bad thing’s “culture” then don’t lock your doors because not promotes thief culture. Seems silly doesn’t it?
Check Out My Privilege!
So, at first I was going to make a comic strip about this, but I have far too much to say and little time to say it in.
I have a very pale, creamy-ish skin tone which automatically makes me just a “white chick” despite my actual heritage. Thanks to my awesome “white privilege”, roping me and my other pale friends together as being the same race is totally cool and not at all rude. I do, however, also have the “privilege” of being called racist and/or ignorant if I can’t tell on sight if someone is from China, Japan, or Korea etc. Seems...a bit strange....but okay.
This is because there’s no such thing as reverse racism...and you’re RIGHT! There’s not!
Because hating on another race and denying them equal treatment is just called RACISM.
Let me tell you about my super cool “white privilege”...
I’ve had the “privilege” of getting death threats from passing cars, for being white.
I’ve had the “privilege” of guns in my face, for being white.
I’ve had the “privilege” of being called ugly all the time, because I’m white.
I’ve had the “privilege” of being bullied in school for having a black step-mom, by black kids against interracial marriages, for being white.
I’ve had the “privilege” of being denied much needed help and aid, for being white.
I’ve had the “privilege” of going so far into debt I’ll never be free in order to put myself through school to try and better my life because there are no scholarships or tuition programs for being white. (there are for being female, but I didn’t take them because there wasn’t any for other genders)
I’ve had the “privilege” of being called names and accused of “cultural appropriation” for having piercings, tattoos, and letting a Jamaican woman put all my hair in braids to battle humidity, because I’m white.
There’s more, but I’ll stop here. Already looking forward to the “privilege” of being called a racist, because I was born white and thus born racist somehow.
The kicker?
I’m fucking Cherokee.
You’ll never stop racism with MORE RACISM...that’s insanely stupid.
*And I do want to add that I hate no race, I always have and always will judge a person by their personal actions, not the actions of others etc etc...
Mark Waid may think he’s Spider-Man, but he’s really J. Tumblr logic:
How to stop racism: be prejudice to white people
How to stop sexism: be sexist towards men
How to stop body shaming: Shame thin people
Haha! Did you know that, according to my stats, you're my biggest fan already? Thanks!
Hell yeah! :D

How many feminists does it take to change a lightbulb? (part 2)
It’s actually 12:
One to screw it in.
One to excoriate men for creating the need for illumination.
One to blame men for inventing such a faulty means of illumination.
One to suggest the whole “screwing” bit to be too “rape-like”.
One to deconstruct the lightbulb itself as being phallic.
One to blame men for not changing the bulb.
One to blame men for trying to change the bulb instead of letting a woman do it.
One to blame men for creating a society that discourages women from changing light bulbs.
One to blame men for creating a society where women change too many light bulbs.
One to advocate that lightbulb changers should have wage parity with electricians.
One to alert the media that women are now “out-lightbulbing” men.
And one to just sit there taking pictures for her blog for photo-evidence that men are unnecessary.
Sorry for the prior misinformation.
