@lunararchivist
If you’re going to cover ground more covered and trodden than any other ground in video games, could you at least have the decency to not make shit up.
I met an actual "feminazi."
So I learned today that one of the Critical Race and Gender Studies professors at my college LITERALLY thinks that now that we have mastered baby-creation throigh combining the eggs of two women, we must exterminate all men. Like actually kill every man ever.
I.
No.
This isn’t feminism. That parallels Nazi ideology way too much.
I think I met my first “feminazi,” like an actual one—not the common application of the word, but the literal application. She is a Neo-Nazi who misuses feminist rhetoric to perpetuate hate.
Ugh, I am so bothered by this professor. It is fucking with my whole relationship with feminism, since I feel cheated by this person stealing our rhetoric and misappropriating it. It is especially hard because I am the sort of feminist who finds it fun to play the role of “misandrist” and play-argue that I think all men are the devil’s spawn. To actually meet someone who is a literal embodiment of the mythical misandrist with such purposeful hate… And she is a Ph.D. in a tenured position at a California university…
I am bothered. I am questioning my feminist identity entirely—not that I agree with feminism, but just what I agree with exactly and how I present myself.
And of course I know she is a rare type of Neo-Nazi to come by. In all my years of feminism, she is the only one I have met who claims she is a feminist.
“Pretty much any time a feminist calls herself a misandrist, it’s meant ironically as a comeback to misogyny, so laughing makes most sense, I’d say.
Crying seems a bit extreme, since our culture isn’t misandric (so even women who hate men have no power, removing their ability to act as an agent of misandry).”
“I always lose followers when I reblog misandry.
Lmaooooooomg Whiney babies, it ok You are safe, misandry is an ironic comeback to misogyny; it isn’t real”
Maybe you should take a look at GWW’s NAFALT video.
Rape jokes supposedly encourage actual rapists, right? Has it occurred to you that “ironic” misandry might encourage actual misandrists?
Are you planning to actually complain to the dean or something? What if you try and fail? Are you still going to say women who have men don’t have power? Does she only hate men because she’s afraid of them?
Rhetorical questioning aside, I still don’t see how someone can insist that women are powerless in society and still call themselves a feminist. If feminism started because women were powerless, and women are still powerless, then the movement is useless.
JJ Abrams had to make two new entries in the two biggest western sci-fi franchises, period, while under scrutiny from zillions of critical fans. Somehow, he managed not to actively insult them, and actually admitted when he screwed up.
Michael Bay said he was referring to the Ooze that transforms the Turtles, not the Turtles themselves, and he should’ve clarified sooner.
Paul Feig (and Sony) seem to have tried to use “misogyny!!1” as a marketing strategy for Ghostbusters, so they didn’t have to acknowledge criticism, including that from pro-feminist people.
Of course, as you may have noticed, both Abrams’ and Bay’s films were successful, while Ghostbusters 2016 was a flop.
Hm. I wonder why.

Older comics here. Chronological order here.
RIAA to grieving family: We depose your children in 60 days #10yrsago
The RIAA brought a file-sharing lawsuit against a guy who died; they offered the departed’s family a 60-day grieving period before they began to depose his children for the suit against his estate.
3. Plaintiffs do not believe it appropriate to discuss a resolution of the case with the family so close to Mr. Scantlebury’s passing. Plaintiffs therefore request a stay of 60 days to allow the family additional time to grieve.
4. In the event the parties do not reach a resolution with Mr. Scantlebury’s estate or the other family members involved, Plaintiffs anticipate amending the complaint following depositions of members of Mr. Scantlebury’s family.

Can somebody give me links to the articles that show Snopes.com having a liberal bias?
All I’m finding are sites that look… less than credible to say the least.
https://en.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/comments/4c4flr/ethics_socjus_snopescom_reports_bad_info_on_emory/
One of the editors of the site (Kim LaCapria) is an SJW, and started editorialising in a story about Trump 2016 chalk. When challenged on it, and the fact that other sources actively contradicted her, she doubled down and (of course) resorted to mockery.
http://archive.is/pdrd3
She also claimed RooshV and Return Of Kings were MRAs when referring to his alleged “make rape legal” meetups earlier this year. Notice how the first source she uses is Raw Story, and only much later an actual paper (National of Scotland). Neither article actually describes the event as having anything to do with the MRM.
http://www.snopes.com/dorothy-bland/
Claim: Dorthy Bland said she was cruelly profiled by cops, and people said she made it up.
Fact: The actual dashcam video shows them being polite and respectful. Kim goes through logical contortions to defend her. The police statement isn’t quoted until the last third of the article. >Bland’s actual article< makes it perfectly clear she thinks she was stopped for being black, a claim which the Snopes article tries to downplay as much as possible.
http://archive.is/tOdmD
Claim: Black Lives Matter protestors in TN kept an ambulance from getting to a kid, and they kept the kid’s parents from getting through them to go to the hospital.
Kim: Well, some guy on Facebook said that the kid needed a heart transplant, and that was wrong, so we’re just going to say the whole thing is a “total falsehood” and ignore the multiple news sources saying that they did actually endanger a kid.
http://wreg.com/2016/07/11/paramedics-rushes-into-action-during-black-lives-matter-protest/

Including a photo of the actual paramedic in question and his testimony.
http://archive.is/Zd5bm
Also, Kim posted the “bathing in your male tears” image in response to criticism. Yes, the exact same one misandry-mermaid uses. Even though there’s no evidence she was talking to a man.
I think that’s pretty conclusive.
Oh! Oh! Pick on me! I have more!
1. In this article, they “debunk” the stereotype of feminist bra burning, citing radical feminist Susan Brownmiller as a source. American University professor W Campbell debunked this debunking, demonstrating evidence that bra burning did occur as a publicity stunt in the 60′s. (It wasn’t common practice, but it did occur, contrary to Snope’s claim.)
2. This article about the Jonathan Butler hunger strike at Mizzou heavily editorializes their fact-checking. Apparently the statement “his family’s wealth affects his credibility with respect to the nature of his protest” is “FALSE” because, like, they said so. The other “false” statement is “Butler lied about his socioeconomic status”. None of their provided examples actually accuse him of lying - note Snopes’s use the terms “suggested” and “insinuating” instead of “they outright said it”.
3. In this article, Snopes defends Clementine Ford, a feminist who fantasizes about a feminist utopia where it’s legal to murder men. She got suspended from Facebook after she “shared some of the abusive and degrading messages she received from men”. They forgot to mention the reason she was suspended, which was doxxing the trolls to her 100k subs and reposting a dick pic one of them sent her. Not that I condone the trolls’s behavior, but imo you kinda waive your right to whine about “misogynistic posts” when you write edgy “satire” articles about laughing at tiny penises and kicking men in the balls.
You forgot the Ford link.

X-Men: Apocalypse has taught me that sexism in intergender choking is dependent upon the genders of the choker and the chokee. :P
I don't think Anita Sarkeesian's videos should be treated as an extension of the PMRC mindset. She's pointing out misogynistic tropes in video games, not advocating censorship. I mean hell, she starts her first video in the series saying that even though she's pointing out problematic aspects of games, that doesn't mean those games shouldn't be played or enjoyed. I don't understand why she's getting as much flack as she is.
Anita is getting flack because she’s an ignorant outsider. I’m not even a gamer, and this is apparent to me.
Whether you agree the content Anita showcases is misogynistic, offensive or not, most of her videos function on the same, flawed premise: That the negative gender stereotypes she finds in these games are harmful to the gamers that play them. She argues that these games somehow ingrain negative gender stereotypes in the individuals that play. They hurt women via perpetuating these stereotypes, essentially.
This is pure, unsubstantiated BS. Anita would never fund an actual study with the tens of thousands of dollars she’s raised, because she knows any such study wouldn’t work in her favor. It’s easier to buy a bunch of video games, cherrypick the most offensive parts for ignorant viewers, and then keep the rest of the money for yourself and your organization, right?
You’ve gotta wake up to the truth: Anita’s videos are about as effective and as enlightening as an elementary school screening of Reefer Madness.
Media—especially popular media—reflects already-existing norms, ideas, concepts, and sentiments in a society, it doesn’t dictate them to consumers. Slasher flicks don’t make serial killers. Grand Theft Auto doesn’t increase the probability of shooting sprees. Gangsta rap doesn’t create gangs. The game Bully doesn’t create bullies. Reading 50 Shades of Grey probably doesn’t increase the likelihood of the reader getting tied up and whipped for sexual pleasure either.
If EA Games were to somehow create and sell a video game titled Mysogyny: Women Suck, the only people who would buy and enjoy such a game would be individuals who already agreed with the game’s clearly stated ideology. Anyone else buying and enjoying the game probably just dabbles in whatever fantasy the game presents during gameplay only.
The probability of this game somehow CREATING a misogynist is about as likely as your local library’s copy of Mein Kampf creating a Nazi. Any such result would be minuscule if charted in a study of any sort.
As a kid, teen, and adult, I’ve been exposed to TONS of media that has displayed women as the weaker, more submissive, and more sexually desirable gender. However, this is not something I feel is reality. Why? Strong female role models, good upbringing, friends, family, amazing wife, and plenty of real-life interactions with women. FUCK A VIDEO GAME! A healthy reality ALWAYS trumps a fantasy.
If you really want to change hearts and minds when it comes to gender roles in society, you’ve got to work on changing that society’s reality, not its media—especially media that so explicitly deals in fantasy. I know we tend to blame the media for a lot of our ills, but your real-life interactions and role models play a larger role in guiding your moral and social outlook than any music, movie, game, or book you’ll ever consume.
Anita is on the most foolish of errands, but y’all are eating it up like a hot pizza. Looking for positive gender roles in a game like Hitman is like looking for positive gender roles in any of the three Expendables films. There’s nothing applicable to real life in Hitman because the game’s not meant to guide anyone through real life. It’s a violent video game, not a dating advice show. There aren’t a whole lotta healthy social norms in the game because it’s not meant to portray any sort of normality.
NOW DON’T GET IT TWISTED: I do understand that violent, male-pandering video games persist in the video game industry. They make a lot of money, yes. And I completely acknowledge that a lot of what’s in games like Hitman, Manhunt, and Grand Theft Auto isn’t exactly, uh, healthy when it comes to the gender roles displayed. There’s a definitely a lack of female leading roles in many games, too.
However, it’s not like there aren’t alternatives here. There are plenty of non-violent, positive indie and mainstream games out there that would love more customers. And there could be MORE if we supported this sect of the industry. If Anita really cared about the future of the video game industry in relation to her cause, well, then she’d encourage all of her fans to purchase video games that work outside the negative gender stereotypes and violence of games like Hitman. It’s that simple. Supply and demand might have created Hitman, but it can just as easily create games with positive messages and gender roles, and it already has. You just have to buy them and be willing to support future releases that fit in with your taste.
But Anita is no gamer, and most of her supporters aren’t either. They’re outsiders that want to see change in a market they don’t participate in. Anita’s lack of experience is plain as day, yet, she’s lauded as some kind of expert. What if we applied the same angle to me right here:
Would you take my metal reviews seriously if I owned no metal records? Didn’t listen to metal? Had no real history with metal? Disliked metal? Constantly criticized metal with surface-level complaints like it being too loud, satanic, violent, angry, and perpetuating dangerous, overly masculine gender stereotypes? No, you wouldn’t. No one—except people equally ignorant to metal—would take me seriously. I’d be an ignorant outsider, which Anita is when it comes to gaming.
And I still stand by my PMRC comparison, too. I see similarity in her determination to find social dangers where there really are none. Yeah, Anita has nowhere near the same level of power or political influence, and she probably never will. And she probably won’t try to pull off the same censorship stunts due to the inevitable failure of trying to enforce or legislate any such censorship. It would be more beneficial to her to stay on the sidelines and collect her fundraising bucks as she highlights games she deems misogynistic. I agree America’s got a long way to go when it comes to creating social equality between the genders, but video games are nowhere near the root of the issues we need to address. They’re just an easy target for the quick to complain.
All in all, it’s same shit, different decade. People have been whining and moaning over “harmful” media for generations. And it should be no surprise that those desperately seeking to be offended lose every time. You can be on that side if you want, but just be a good sport when you take your “L”.

Indefinite ban on deviantart
Ok, I am calm enough to type this so here goes.
Earlier this afternoon I noticed I was logged out of DA so I tried to log back in as usual. This happens every now and then because of cookies and DA tweaking their website and refreshing their page.
I usually log back in and it is no biggie.
This time when I log back in I find out I have been indefinitely banned.
Turns out the last image I posted - the cheeky Raven ass pose - was deemed a sexualized depiction of an underage character and less than a minute afterwards the ban was put in place.
I drew the character as the adult Rachel Roth with the arm and leg stockings but in my haste to color I apparently used a skin color which was too similar to the Teen Titans Go version of Raven. I remember when I was coloring here that I was randomly going through skin tones and remember that raven can go from flesh, to red to even grey and made the mistake of choosing the paler grey.
Now this is different from an account deactivation because with that everything is wiped.
This is a ban which I am watching because they are now going through my sta.sh and storage to look for more stuff they can call a violation.
Basically, whomever acted on the violation was itching to invoke the ban so they could take their time finding more stuff to back their invocation - we are talking minutes afterwards since I am watching it happen live via my notes.
I will update on what is happening with regards to the obviously vindictive banning and my hopefully effective appeal.
(please reblog this post so that there is chance most of my DA watchers get the head’s up on what happened to me)

In light of the recent Baldur’s Gate controversy, we’re adding a new enemy to Project SOCJUS. Introducing: the Beam Dog.
The Beam Dog has four abilities:
Lay Trap
The Beam Dog deploys a beam trap from its rear end every few seconds. Enemies that trigger the trap will be shot with a laser. The traps can be destroyed by the player.
Shockwave Bark
The Beam Dog’s bark is worse than its bite – literally; its bark can damage and stun the player at close range.
Distress Call
When the Beam Dog is losing a fight, it will howl to summon nearby SJWs to its aid.
Beam Cannon
The Beam Dog’s namesake. Abandoning all subtlety, the Beam Dog fires a searing beam that cuts across the screen. Because the Beam Dog has no self-awareness, it damages both friend and foe alike.
oh my god it’s ALMOST like the book industry is run by dudes and they pick what they think ladies want
That’s because they were made to appeal to male book distributors, not female readers. http://www.amazon.com/Beyond-Heaving-Bosoms-Bitches-Romance/dp/B003E7ETEY
Sounds like a fun book!
And to be fair, there is a distinct difference between “shirtless and posing for your pleasure with sultry bedroom eyes laaaaaadies” ultra-ripped-muscular-dudes and “hell yeah look at me I’m a steaming pile of testosterone, watch me throw this bus into orbit I am so cool” ultra-ripped-muscular-dudes. It’s clear whose fantasy is being depicted and the OP of this compare photo is purposefully missing the point to make an inaccurate argument.
Though to be doubly fair, the romantic lead of a dime-store romance novel is probably the closest comparison you’re going to find to the over-sexualized comic book superheroine — they’re both being objectified for the pleasure of their (heterosexual) opposite numbers. Hell, look at how many of those romance novels obscure the face to focus squarely on those delicious abs.
OP still misses the point of the comic, mind. I just wanted to point that out.
Hi I made the original image. I think you’re missing the point of the comic. The comic clearly defined a male character who isn’t a “male power fantasy” as one who is “lean, with large and intense eyes, rosy cheeks, and kissable lips”. All the men on the romance novel covers clearly do not fit this description. They do, however, fit the description of an “impossibly-muscled hulk”. Under the laws established in the comic, these romance novels for women are about male power fantasies.
To address your argument about the characters being different kinds of hulks: this is true, but both still represent ‘male power fantasies’. Direct your attention to the book covers and see who stars in them: cowboys, warriors, dukes, archangels… all are men in powerful and dominant roles. They are all ‘male power fantasies’ being presented in a different context than video games; specifically, they’re ravishing the main character instead of killing bad guys. (In fact, they’re probably doing both in the books.)
What feminism calls a “male power fantasy” is a thing because it’s what many women are attracted to (hence these books) and what many men strive to be to fulfill this ideal (hence the games). If you’re a woman who doesn’t find the “impossibly muscled hulk” trope appealing then you simply have different tastes in men than other women. There’s nothing wrong with that, and there’s nothing wrong with the people who like the ‘male power fantasy’ either.
What if everyone’s parents start getting tumblr like they did with Facebook
Equality feels like oppression to people who have only ever known privilege.
Which explains why when people say that men should have all the same rights that women have and patiently try to explain which of those rights we currently lack, feminists like you think that we just hate women and want to oppress them.
This must be why third-wave faux “feminists” scream “Misogyny!” and “Harrassment!” whenever they receive valid criticism, or whenever they’re held accountable for their own terrible behavior.
This must be why those same people work so hard to close or prevent any shelters for abused men.
This must be why they constantly stifle men who are rape victims from having a venue to talk about their experiences.
This must be why they also pull fire alarms to interrupt mens’ rights meetings whenever they gather to discuss important issues.
This must be why I never see them demanding equal treatment when it comes to prison sentencing, less-favorable working environments, the draft, or having their abuse actually acknowledged as abuse.
OP just perfectly described her own movement for what it really is: Highly-privileged first-world women that view ACTUAL equality as “oppression”, and are more concerned with having even MORE privileges, rather than focusing on women elsewhere who have NONE.
But WBC is real with actual documented incidents. What has a real SJW ever actually done besides make stupid people feel uncomfortable on the Internet
There is no such thing as “a real SJW”. “Social justice warrior” was always a negative label from the beginning, created to designate those that are not representing social justice as it should be (kind of like how the term “weekend warrior” is used to describe someone who’s normally boring from Monday through Friday, but goes out of their way to indulge themselves irresponsibly on the weekends in an attempt to compensate). Wearing that label unironically is like publicly proclaiming that you’re a bigot. You’re utilizing the No True Scotsman logical fallacy here. Also, the fact that you said “make stupid people uncomfortable on the internet” really doesn’t reflect well on you, especially when the majority of anti-SJWs are liberals, LGBTA people, minorities, etc. that are simply “uncomfortable” with how you’re poorly representing what we believe in. The fact that there even is a divide between people that all desire equality just goes to show that someone is doing it wrong (hint: It’s not the anti-SJWs). If anything, you’re just showing people exactly the kind of attitude that people hate about SJWs. It’s the fanaticism. It’s the extremism. There are people who simply have faith in a higher power, and then there are people like WBC, who actively use that faith to try to harm others. This is why they’re really the perfect analogy when discussing what SJWs are to activism.
In any case, are you sure you want me to answer this? Because I don’t think you’re going to like what you see.
What has tumblr done, you ask?:
Bullying a fan artist into attempting suicide because she drew a Steven Universe character “too skinny”. Have even more on this. Hell, here’s a whole BUNCH of bullshit pulled by SJWs in that fandom.
Bullying a trans teen and invalidating his identity because he dared to suggest that spreading hatred solves nothing.
SJWs send people so many death threats that there is an entire blog devoted to compiling them.
Using phishing links to try to obtains others’ IP addresses.
Giving someone’s personal information to a potential rapist. This has happened at least TWICE now.
Posing as other users, or fabricating replies from other users in an attempt to defame them.
Glorifying unhealthy attitudes and behaviors, such as self-harm, and anorexia.
Glorifying unhealthy attitudes towards obesity (it’s fine to support body positivity, but it’s NOT OKAY to deny that there are health risks associated with obesity).
Romanticizing mental illness, and encouraging self-diagnosis (which is dangerous to one’s health).
Showing people how to LIE to get a diagnosis of autism.
Glorifying murderers and making excuses for women who commit acts of assault.
Routinely threatening and victim-blaming rape victims that don’t hold all men responsible for what happened to them. Have even more from another user regarding the same post.
THROWING FUCKING PISS AT SOMEONE FOR HAVING A DIFFERENT OPINION (like, I don’t agree with Lauren Southern’s statements either, but YOU DON’T FUCKING THROW BODILY WASTE AT PEOPLE, JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. LEAVE THAT SHIT TO THE MONKEYS AT THE ZOO).
Admittedly trying to blame GamerGate supporters for a racist Photoshop edit when they KNEW GG had nothing to do with it.
Littering an entire campus with materials that are hazardous to animals (while wasting valuable resources that they could have donated to a homeless shelter) to make a “statement” that’s not even valid.
Spreading an unfounded rumor about the leading organization dedicated to the aid of rape victims being “transphobic” after they found out that said organization discourages the teaching of “rape culture” on college campuses.
CONSTANTLY harassing and belittling women who don’t wish to call themselves feminists. I’ve personally experienced this more times than I can even remember.
Using someone else’s copyrighted characters to sell merchandise promoting ideals that their creator is openly against.
Making up and passing around false stories of sexual assault on children. This, too, has happened at least twice now.
Passing around false information about important historical figures.
Claiming to be “hurt” be people shipping fictional characters.
Bullying someone off of tumblr for not tagging the color blue that is THE DEFAULT COLOR OF TUMBLR.
Telling people that they’re not allowed to represent THEIR OWN CULTURE. The same has happened regarding hijabs as well.
Thinking it’s the least bit okay to record total strangers and post the videos online to demonize them.
Trying to force content creators to cater to THEM instead of creating what they want to.
Actually trying to convince people that air conditioning is sexist. It worries me that there are three separate sources for this.
Calling in false bite reports in order to get someone’s domesticated pet taken away and euthanized, simply because they were against the owners having it for a pet.
Trying to turn a holiday established by a woman into a “patriarchal conspiracy”.
Constantly trying to hijack tragedies, and try to use them as a political step stool, regardless of the feelings of the families and friends of the deceased (including literally erasing the fact that there were twice as many male victims as female in the Elliot Rodger case, and even claiming they were “accidental” killings , when three of them were his first victims, and were stabbed to death, and despite that Rodger himself expressed a hatred of men, as well as an intent to kill “anyone in sight”). On top of that, his blog was filled with posts about how much he hated full-blooded Asian men.
Someone on here is currently facing jail for pushing razorblades in front of their suicidal sister, and telling her to kill herself for having “straight-passing privilege”.
Here’s someone who not only had a knife sent to their home address with a note reading “Please kill yourself”, but someone also called 911, and gave a false report saying that he was suicidal.
Here’s someone that had a false police report filed on them, and had to stop the SWAT team from entering his house.
Here’s someone who had a syringe sent to their home address.
Here’s someone asking a young mother if her infant child has died yet.
The same people also tried to illegally have said mother’s husband deported.
SJWs from this site caused a woman to lose her job, because they decided to harass her boss via email (she has since gotten her job back). Why? For making comics based directly on interactions she witnessed on tumblr, complete with links to those interactions as sources.
Here’s a teenage girl trying to take a little boy’s attempted suicide, and make it all about her. Mind you, she and her followers are people that perpetrate the exact same kind of bullying that this boy tried to end his life over. And they still continue to do it.
Here are her followers threatening people with death and violence over things as pointless as fandom polls.
People on tumblr were the ones who CAUSED the “raid” on tumblr by trying to “#shutdown4chan”. 4chan became bored after a single night, while tumblr continued crying like babies, and making false claims that people on 4chan were “being arrested by the FBI”.
Meanwhile, the sane people of tumblr mocked the shit out of them for intentionally kicking the hornet’s nest, and then whining when they got stung.
People here and on Twitter had enough of a shit fit over The Fine Young Capitalist’s fundraiser to promote women in gaming that they actually hacked the fundraiser page.
Why? Because 4chan contributed over $23k to it.
Here’s a sampling of even more examples of people abusing activism to basically act like entitled bullies.
Yet more examples, but in screencap form.
Even more screencaps.
People even fucking COSPLAY as tumblr (here’s another for good measure). Pretty sure that says a lot about the overall perception people have of this site.
I’m sure all of this doesn’t even come CLOSE to what SJWs have done overall. I could probably spend weeks finding all sorts of bullshit to put on here. I openly invite others to add onto this, as I’m sure there’s a lot that’s been left out (@takashi0 might have a list on hand).
This is why people are against “social justice warriors”. They are NOT representing social justice. They are NOT supporting equality. They are only giving liberals, activists, women, minorities, and the LGBTA community a bad name.
Jesus fuck, I don’t have anything remotely as detailed as that.
All I’ve got are my Evidence, SJWs, GamerGate, Anti tumblr Feminism, StandWithZamii/Paige, DownWithHate, Racism, Men’s rights, and Misandry tags. Which I’ve been using less often due to laziness and because the search bar on my blog seems to work just fine.
This one’s going in the vault.
Rebageling for additional sauce.
