Alone and afraid

It's really frustrating when the person you think you want to spend the rest of your life with doesn't see you that way. Even more frustrating when the person who claims to be your partner makes you feel alone in this world. I've got no real family around so I have to make do with who I encounter. I hate that I automatically have high expectations for everyone, because at the end of the day I always feel emotionally crushed. I sit in bed at night wanting to cry but the tears will never flow. When I'm around her I'm aware that I'm weak to her but I can't help it. She tells me we're best of friends. My actual heart feels smaller and fainter every time she mentions it. I've tried looking elsewhere but she keeps resurfacing on my mind. I've tried. These are just random thoughts of an emotionally depressed guy.
