Anyone who has ever posted a picture of Jane Birkin on their internal (or external) mood board, likely has an affinity for the little straw bag. And while a market find is a sweet souvenir, we were searching for something that met all our daily handbag needs—structured, secure, beautifully made, and able to withstand the onslaughts of the city. Enter French brand Muuñ: inspired by traditional African Nyariga baskets, each bag is made from natural straw handwoven in Ghana and dyed using organic pigments. The finishing touches in cotton and canvas are applied at the label’s Paris atelier, with a signature fabric bow to secure belongings.
