@nomadix
hi my name is nomad and i have severe mental illness but guess what fellow silly gooses IM PICKING UP MY MEDICATION TODAY
AND!!! im finally making progress and i like kinda love myself now so look at that
ive made so much progress since i last posted here
ok yeah i have a debilitating medical condition that causes chronic & generalized pain, mobility issues, autonomic nervous system dysfunction and frequent subluxations BUT. i can touch my thumb to my forearm so. a win is a win
Something to understand that not all pain gets better by doing nothing. Sometimes laying in bed makes it worse.
Sometimes my hip fucks up and the only way to make it better is to walk on it, carefully, for like an hour.
Sometimes my back hurts in a way that means I can’t use my mobility aids without making it worse.
Sometimes my throat has issues only singing can fix.
So the whole “oh you said you were injured / in pain but then you went and did (__activity__), so clearly you were faking it” thing is entirely fucking meaningless.
You aren’t “catching fakers”, you are just fundamentally misunderstanding the human body.
I’ve found that since being diagnosed with multiple chronic illnesses, I get a lot of “advice” from those around me. Whether it’s people in my life or strangers on the internet. Partly they want to help, but partly, the fact that I’m chronically ill really bothers them and they want a “fix” because my illnesses makes them uncomfortable.
If there was a cure, I’d take it. However, there isn’t. So, sit with your discomfort for awhile before you start sharing wild suggestions and unsolicited advice to those who are chronically ill or disabled in your life.
The ultimate shared experience of chronic illness:
Am I coming down with something or did I just push myself too hard and/or flaring up?
Accommodations are not special, they’re not a leg up, they’re not a benefit. They’re not putting anyone ahead in the race, nor are they taking anything away from others.
They exist to put us on a level playing ground to everyone else, and nothing more.
I want playable Bards in WoW so bad. I want to run around Alterac Valley with my little trumpet and doot for dear life
I would die for you btw
Please Blizzard give us more of them
Illidan playing this on his bluetooth speaker and the acoustics in the black temple make it so literally everyone can hear it
my object permanence be so bad i forget me and my partner are gay when were not doing anything or when theyre not here
my dad, trying to explain the concept of money to me: say you have a sandwich, and i need your sandwich. but i don't have anything to give you. you're not just gonna give it to me.
me: i would just give it to you.
