Kai (reading mail): “This story happened the other day. I was driving home from work as usual, with the GazettE playing in the background, when suddenly a wild deer appeared out of nowhere. I put on the emergency brake but I wasn’t fast enough, and I crashed into the deer. I just sat there completely stunned until the deer got up, stared me tf down and then hurried off into the mountains. I don’t know if that was lucky or unlucky, but anyway my car was still working so I made my way home. I got out to check the damage, and there was a huge dent in my bumper. The next day, I brought my car to the dealer and they said it would cost quite a bit to repair. I live in the country, so it’s not that uncommon for wild animals to show up, but the deer jumping out out of nowhere was unexpected, and I wasn’t able to make a claim so the expense to repair the damage was also unexpected. It was really awful.”
Aoi: Yes yes yes yes yes ~
Kai: “This was a pretty serious incident for me and caused me a lot more shock than I thought, so I’m feeling pretty depressed. What do you two do when you’re feeling down? I’ll use it as a reference so please let me know.” (laughs) Well yeah, if you hit a dear you wouldn’t be able to make a claim, would you.
Aoi: Yeah, of course not.
Kai: …All I can say about this is that it was really unlucky (laughs)
Aoi: Hmmmm, well, you know…you have to always be driving with the mindset that [a wild animal etc] might appear.
Kai: Ah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Aoi: Yeah
Kai: But I’m not used to stuff like that. Do animals show up where you live? (laughs)
Aoi: Oh yes, all the time.
Kai: (laughing) What kind of animals?
Aoi: Oh u know deers, boars…
Kai: Ooh, boars??
Aoi: Yeh, lil monkeys n stuff…
Kai: Wowowowow, that’s pretty scary.
Aoi: Hmm yeah, but I haven’t been in a single accident thanks to that.
Kai: Oh, thanks to your “something might pop out” driving?
Aoi: Yes, yes, yes, like, a person might run out or something, you know?
Kai: Yeah, yeah – well I mean, that’s the most basic precaution.
Aoi: Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Kai: …But…a deer, huh…but if you were driving in the middle of the night, you’d have no way of knowing, right?
Aoi: Nah but they’re all out there eating grass
Kai: (laughing) What on the side of the road?
Aoi: Yeah
Kai: Whaat isn’t that scary!?
Aoi: No not at all. I drive by like “sup boys”
Kai: (laugh) I seeee…”What do you two do when you’re feeling down?” Hmm…when you’re feeling down..?
Aoi: I let it bug me quite a bit.
Kai: Yeah, you seem like you would.
(Aoi laughs)
Kai: You try to play it off like you’re over it, but I’m like, nahh he’s not over it (laughs)
Aoi: Yeahh, I do let stuff get me down. If only I could be as happy-go-lucky as Kai-san…
Kai: (laughing) No, I – well, actually you’re right…
Aoi: You don’t let stuff keep bugging you, do you?
Kai: Me? Not at all.
Aoi: Right? You’re not worried about anything.
Kai: Yep, nothing.
(laughs)
Kai: But even if I am…I think this is a type A vs type B kinda thing…
Aoi: Hmm…
Kai: Like you…it’s not necessarily that you let it get you down, but you overthink it, you know?
Aoi: I do, I do, I do…
Kai: I don’t think about shit.
(Aoi laughs)
Kai: You can overthink it all you want, but it is what it is, so I feel like there’s no point in thinking about it.
Aoi: Well, I guess so.
Kai: But type A people can’t do that can they?
Aoi: I can’t.
Kai: Reita was saying that too.
Aoi: Oh really?
Kai: Yeah, he was like, “you’re lucky, being type B seems so easy~”
Aoi: I see. But type B people have their own problems.
Kai: Yeah, we do…but to type A people they probably seem like nothing
(both chuckle)
Kai: Well anyway, when you’re feeling down…hmm…you may let it get you down a bit but…do you try to come up with ways to solve it? While you’re thinking about it.
Aoi: Well, I try to just tell myself that what’s done is done, and choose to move on.
Kai: I see, that’s the best way to do it, you know.
Aoi: Yeah~
Kai: You can’t go back and change things, so…I think that’s how I would see it too. If I got down like that. I don’t tho
(both laugh)
