spell jars: maintenance
if you've crafted a spell jar that you'd like to work for an extended period of time, maintenance of said jar is highly suggested - in this case specifically, i'm gonna use benefic spell jars as an example.
just like a device that operates on battery (can you tell i like this analogy?), a spell jar should be charged on a regular basis to maintain its integrity and functionality. a little housekeeping, if you will.
spell jar maintenance:
clean the outside of the jar - wipe it down and dust it off
take a look inside - does anything look unintentionally moldy or unsavory?
if so, you might consider remaking the jar - unless the jar is meant to be baneful in nature, soured ingredients likely won't help manifest something positive
otherwise, you can cleanse the jar of any negative energy that it may have acquired since its creation and recharge it with the same energy, intent, and ingredients
or you can remake it all together
when does a spell jar need to be maintained?
when it stops working
when you fail to see the results you wanted
when you feel like it needs a little boost
when you want to reevaluate your intentions
when you need a fresh start
when the vibes are off
whenever you want
disassembling a spell jar
you can literally just throw it in the trash if you want to
but you can also:
bury the rest of the ingredients
burn them
leave them outdoors to be reclaimed by nature
etc.
your mileage may vary, but as always:
don't burn toxic herbs, don't fuck up the environment, and practice fire safety :)

learning lenormand after learning tarot is so frustrating.
with tarot it's like, "five of wands? Conflict! five of wands + tower? Conflict that ends in disaster! five of wands + four of swords? Conflict that ends in rest, or maybe the conflict is coming to a rest! Conflict, you get it."
with lenormand it's like, "snake? well this could be a very sexy lesbian. Oh, snake + mountain? Well obviously that means that very few exotic breeds will be entered into the dog show this year, or maybe that your husband has a mistress, does that help?"

Major arcana: a brief overview
The Major Arcana of a tarot deck consists of 22 trump cards, also known as the Major Arcana cards. These cards represent significant events or themes in a person's life and are often associated with deeper, spiritual meaning.
Here is a brief overview of the meaning of each of the Major Arcana cards:
The Fool: represents new beginnings, unpredictability, and taking risks.
The Magician: represents creativity, resourcefulness, and the power to manifest one's desires.
The High Priestess: represents mystery, intuition, and the unconscious mind.
The Empress: represents fertility, abundance, and nurturing.
The Emperor: represents authority, leadership, and structure.
The Hierophant: represents tradition, religion, and spirituality.
The Lovers: represents love, relationships, and choices.
The Chariot: represents determination, drive, and overcoming obstacles.
Strength: represents courage, inner strength, and self-control.
The Hermit: represents introspection, solitude, and wisdom.
The Wheel of Fortune: represents cycles, change, and luck.
Justice: represents balance, fairness, and truth.
The Hanged Man: represents sacrifice, perspective, and enlightenment.
Death: represents transformation, rebirth, and letting go.
Temperance: represents balance, moderation, and harmony.
The Devil: represents temptation, materialism, and enslavement.
The Tower: represents upheaval, chaos, and revelation.
The Star: represents hope, inspiration, and self-improvement.
The Moon: represents fear, illusion, and the unknown.
The Sun: represents joy, success, and vitality.
Judgement: represents judgement, accountability, and redemption.
The World: represents completeness, accomplishment, and wholeness.
The meanings of the Major Arcana cards can vary depending on the context in which they appear in a reading and the reader's interpretation of them. It is important to remember that tarot is a tool for personal growth and self-discovery and that the interpretation of the cards is highly subjective.

Illuminate My Path A sunshine inspired tarot spread
This tarot spread has been inspired by the Sunshine that has been gracing my home in recent weeks; all is aglow and all in bright, and thus it feels right to utilise this Sunshine to shed some light onto ourselves and see where we are headed.
1. The Ground: Just where is your current path based? In what, is your foundation; your beginning; your inspiration? What drives you? Is it growth? Learning? Spirituality? This card will tell you.
2. The Sky: Where will this path take you? You are headed up and away, but where is up and away? What will following this path lead you towards? Fulfillment, hurt, or something else entirely,…
3. The 1st Branch (physical): Paths often wind and twist and branch off into new and interesting places - where else will this path lead to? What opportunities that you did not expect will reveal themselves to you should you continue on this journey?
4. The 2nd Branch (emotional): This path may open up or make you vulnerable to new emotions and feelings; how does this path make you feel and how can you deal with these emotions?

Winter Solstice Tarot Spread
Happy solstice, everyone! Both for the winter and summer, for those of you in the southern hemisphere. I hope y'all have a great time celebrating today & I wanted to thank everyone that has followed me recently. It means a lot!
Here's the winter solstice spread for 2022. It's based off of a spread I created many moons ago, revamped and updated.
As always, feel free to share your cards pulled with me! I love seeing 'em. If you don't want a message from your ancestors, you can replace it with a deity, daemon, your guides, etc. I like to do a rune with each card placement, as well as utilize some of my oracle decks for the hell of it.
That being said, what's everyone doing for the solstice? I'll be doing a ritual later, but this morning I'm brewing up some tea for a potion I've done for several years. If I have everything I need, I may have the time to get crafty with what I'm thinking could be a winter solstice witches ladder to take out annually...but I'm not too sure how it will turn out yet or what the plan is. We shall see.
I updated my Yule tarot spread from last year. Feel free to tag me if you use this spread!
1. What needs my attention the most in the coming year?
2. What has pushed you forward this year?
3. What has held you back this year?
4. What gifts do you carry?
5. How can you best use those gifts?
6. A message of guidance from your deities/ancestors.
