Nack got’em! Nice shot on the weasel’s part, Chip was in his grasp, the little Gaia struggled but this was just as much as a no escape zone as when Bark grabbed him.
Chip was starting to feel like a damsel in distress with how much everybody just grabs him like he’s some sort of object.
“Let me go!” Chip commanded. A Gaia had to have some sort of authority right? Now that he has his memories back he has to exert it. Ether that or continue to play cat and mouse with everything that breaths. “I don’t have anything you want this time!” Chip claimed.
“THIS time, eh?” With that line alone, poor Chip had doomed himself to the jeroba wolf’s attention. As he stared at their face and body with a keener eye, there was no mistaking it: this was, in fact, Chip himself.
How long had it been since they last met? Had it been weeks? Had it been months? In truth, the sniper did not know, and in actuality he did not care. He had them not only tightly in his grasp, but also at his sheer, cold mercy.
Fittingly, Nack began to toy with them like putty in his hands, awaiting the very moment they may just break with weighted glee in his tone.
“Y’may not have anythin’ I want THIS time, but c’mon– we know each other! That makes us PALS, now don’t it!?” His clasp around the Gaia tightening ever so slightly, Nack peered into their eyes with a look that proved he knew exactly who they were. “C’mon, buddy ol’ pal! Go ahead ‘n tell Fang th’ Sniper ALL about’cha ‘self! If I took time t’remember every bloke that crossed m’path, don’t’cha think I’d be rollin’ in dough right now?”
“Don’t tell me you’re AFRAID of me! Is that it, pal? I gotta say, that’s jus’ SO rude: I’m feelin’ GREAT ‘n you’re jus’ gonna go ahead ‘n try ‘n ruin m’good mood? What’s WRONG with ya? Didn’t anybody teach y’that y’AIN’T supposed t’go on ‘n be a Soilin’ Sally, or does somebody need t’give ya a lesson in RESPECT?”
Truth be told, Chip was having a confusing time understanding Nack’s accent, but he also didn’t want to come off as disrespectful so dispite the fact that Nack was still manhandling him he would do his absolute best to answer Nack’s questions.
“We’re friends?” Poor little innocent Chip loved making new friends but, this wasn’t how you made friends, Nack’s behavior just confused the little Gaia.
“Well, I’m Chip, but you probably already knew that. Uhh.. let’s see... Last time we met you wanted one of the Chaos Emeralds and you and that big fluffy polar bear guy were willing to trade me to Knuckles in exchange for it.” Did Nack want Chip to tell him all about himself literally? Cause that’s what Chip was doing and he had only come to realize it right now, and some part of Chip worried he had taken the purple hybrid’s words too literally.
“B-But.. the world’s back together again, so we won, we saved the day and the world, s-so we don’t have anything to fight over ...Uh.. so yeah, we’re friends I guess.” Chip nodded his head.

【 “A world without H E R O E S. When the last FALLS, felled into consoling D A R K N E S S , will you rise to CHALLENGE M E ? ” 】
A world without heroes? Chip had to deliberate on his answer for a moment. This was a big question the masked jackal was asking. It needed a proper answear.
". . . I will fight to keep that world from happening."
“As I always have— “
“𝐹𝑜𝓇 𝒶𝑔𝑒𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒶𝑔𝑒𝓈.” a soft and gentle smile creeps upon Chip’s face. If keeping that world from happening meant challenging the powers of the Phantom Ruby. So be it.

Was that Nack? He was kinda a scary guy the last time they met. Manhandling poor little Chip and whatnot. Chip… wasn’t a fan. To be fair Chip didn’t know much about Nack. But he was a crook jobber. You didn’t need to know much about him.
Chip flew past the weasel-wolf hybrid really fast, he just wanted his ice cream (which was in a red bowl at the moment), it was his favourite— caramel chocolate sundae supreme. Chip felt his teeth grit, Nack’s ears were so… huge that he probably heard the sound of Chip’s wings beat against the air that Chip was always helpless to silent.
At first he was going to be content with just letting that faint buzzing fly off on its own, thinking it as nothing more than a mere fly that saved itself from sudden death under the weight of his palm. However, poor Chip was not fast enough, for the outlaw’s keen eye made out quick that something was not quite right.
As faint as his memory had been, he recognized that small body and distinct fur. A name didn’t come to mind just yet, but instinctively he lunged forward and outstretched his palm in an attempt to snatch the smaller male right out of the air and right into his grasp.
“Not so fast there, PARTNER,” snapped Nack, keen to assuage his fears and discover ust why Chip seemed so panicked in his presence. “You ‘n me are ‘boutta have a nice ‘n friendly CHAT!”

@drfinitxvus
Sense a lot of energy from him? Well, Chip certainly knew the source of that energy but why was this creep so curious?
"Uuuuhh... there's nothing out of the ordinary about me Mr." Just your normal ordinary flying mammal. “I’m just... a bat! Yeah, from out of town... and uh, I’m not sick or anything. Honest,”
“No need to step into your lab, hehehha.” Frankly, this little Gaia has had one mad scientist try to use his power for evil too many. The First Spark will have to forgive this little white lie.
fluffy!
“AAAaahh!!!” Chip was immediately taken aback himself. Everyone appeared to be shocked at the moment.
“Woah! A talking puppet!” Says the flying primordial earth spirit.
Chip took a little look at arm that was in his grasp. “Sorry if that hurt! I-I…. I didn’t mean to!” Chip gave Geno his arm back.
“Can you put it back in by yourself or… ???” This was just awkward on a number of levels, a talking… magical puppet, who knew? Who could have known?
❝ oh, nope. not painful at all. ❞ oh stars, all eyes were on them. frankly, he felt a little worse for this tiny fae (?) than he ever could himself, given how startling the situation probably was. geno himself losing an arm? pssh, that’s nothing. it wasn’t the first time; it sure wasn’t going to be the last.
effortlessly, he popped the arm right back into his socket, shrugging the shoulder to ensure that sensation had returned to the area. all seemed to work fine, as expected, but… his worries now lied elsewhere.
❝ sorry for giving you a fright. it’s… kind of a thing i do often, ❞ admitted geno sheepishly, rubbing at the back of his head with his reattached hand. ❝ i guess you could say i’m one-of-a-kind, h- haha… ❞ that was probably putting it way too lightly. oh well. whatever the case, chattering about this here was likely not a great plan, given the audience they had. it only served to make things even more uncomfortable.
❝ i can explain everything, swear. wanna, uh… take this outside? you know, somewhere far… far away from here. ❞ could those people stop staring at them?!
Chip’s relatively big ears had listened to everything Geno had to say. “Sure thing.” To be honest, Chip just wanted to keep interacting with the talking magical puppet. Living in the earth’s core for millions of years had not developed Chip’s internal social contract to not negatively be the center of attention for yelling in what’s supposed to be a quiet place. In other words, he didn’t mind all the Goombas, Koopas and other Mushroom Kingdom citizens staring at them.
Flying out the Museum door with Geno close behind him, Chip watched how the puppet moved with no discernible leg muscles, Geno’s very existence must have been the result of some kind of magic. A kind that was alien even to Light Gaia.
“Hey! Now that were out here away from all of them, my name’s Chip!” The little guy said hovering close to Geno’s face at eye level. Chip’s wings made a constant flapping noise as they worked to keep his body afloat. “So what’s your name?, Mr. uuuhh— Magic Puppet!”
a floating? fuzz nugget??
@sternenteile
“Hey, did anybody leave this puppet here?” little Chip said immediately upon noticing and flying close to the wooden puppet sitting in a chair. He was asking the people around the room, maybe this belonged to someone?
It was pretty cool though. Chip wanted to play with it. Shouldn’t be any harm in moving it’s arms and roleplaying a voice and personality for the puppet with his imagination right?
Chip grabbed Geno’s arm. How does this work? He wondered, is there a place to put your hand to control it? Where are the strings? These are the big questions.
museums were so boring. here, in all of his admiration for earth’s unique culture, he thought that he’d have enjoyed diving nose-first into their fine art. however, geno was quick to find out on one of the guided tours, by the time he’d reached his seventh bronze toad statue, that it was rather dull. once he’d seen the first few sculptures, he felt like he’d seen them all. it only turned weirder once the curator started going on about the meaning of pink intertwined with green on a black canvas, some deep meaning about a look into a koopa’s psyche or something. not only did it bug him out, but it also… sucked hardcore.
thank goodness this place had chairs and benches to sit in by the reception desk. he needed a moment to rest after spending so much time walking around, bored out of his mind. slowly, but surely, geno began to nod off…
— only to be spooked by something grabbing his arm.
❝ ★❤#*&!! ❞ the shrill yelp in star language was coupled with the yank of his appendage away from whatever was holding onto it. alas, the combination of his reaction and chip’s tiny grip had resulted in his arm coming clean off. thankfully, it was no harm, no foul, given the toy was already built for that, but… it definitely had people looking.
❝ u… uh. ❞ adrenaline began to slow down after his startling encounter, eyes locked on the pink fluff floating in front of him… and his detached arm. ❝ i’m, uh. i’m gonna need that back. ❞

@efrikanengine
Uh oh! It's that big mean bull guy, come to think of it, Chip wondered if he ever found out that him, Sonic and Tails gave him the slip back in Mazuri?
Axel was tasked to guard and defend the Gaia Temple Key, piloting the Egg Beetle to keep Sonic away from it, little did he know they’d stole it right under his big bulbus bull snout. Successfully tricking the water buffalo into thinking it was a retreat as Chip carried off with the key.
That all had to be years ago at this point. There’s no way Axel hadn’t figured out he’d been duped back then by now. Chip could only hope Axel didn’t hold grudges.
In fact, Chip was planning to just fly off without saying a word. There’s was no reason to be polite to this guy. He’d tried to keep the world shattered and everyone on it miserable as far as Chip was concerned... so nope.... just gonna fly off.... avoid eye contact,

Chip’s heart skipped a beat upon looking at that mysterious black hedgehog. His eyes… it reminded him too much of the supernatural abilities of his world destroying, planet busting counterpart. Something was up, that poor hedgehog, he was possessed, possibly corrupted by Dark Gaia energy like Sonic once was, but having his mortal body react in a completely different and much more gruesome way.
To cut to the point, every fiber of Chip’s little being said that Chip had to help that person before anymore damage could be done to the hedgehog’s mortal soul.
Chip flew towards Mephiles with the panicked speed one human might make towards another to save their life from unnatural causes. “Are… are you ok?” Just miner filler words coming out of Chip’s mouth, he was going to do what a Light Gaia had to do no matter what Mephiles said in rebuttal. “Don’t panic! I’ll help you.” Chip knew he had to be quick as those takened over by powers similar to Dark Gaia’s tended to be overcome with animalistic urges, Chip raised a small hand and concentrated divine energy outward through both his plam and his necklace in order to exorcise the demonic flowing energy out of Mephiles’s heart. “Please! Don’t panic! You have to let me help you!”
LIGHT GAIA. He knew of him well based on his extensive knowledge of the Gaia Manuscripts. The ancient texts of the cycle of the world, how each of the deities trapped within the planets core represented light and dark. Two halves of a perfect coin, necessary for each other’s survival are destined to forever play a sad game of cat and mouse. Dark Gaia awakens to destroy the planet, plunging it into everlasting darkness while Light Gaia awakens to return light and seal the darkness back into its sleep. Having been alive for a few THOUSAND years he could say he had come across ONE universe that was in the cycle of the Gaia’s awakening. It was a beautiful sight, too. Until H U M A N I T Y was restored.
Shaking away the thoughts of the scripts he settled back into reality of the little deity essentially yelling at him in a dazed panic. Help him with what? Panic? It took him a second, noticing the rising divine energy filling the gap between the two. Was he trying to—?
‘Pitiful.’ Without any other words to utter, a tendril of ebony slid beneath the darker gods feed. Slithering like a snake, inching towards the smaller being it coiled around his hand and gently pulled it down and away from Mephiles’ direction. ‘If you are trying to EXORCISE me, I must warn you. I am not a demon and that will result in horrendous failure. My name is Mephiles, Mephiles the dark. I am unaware if god’s quite like the GAIAS are aware of similar beings. But i am a deity all the same. The mind hive of the ancient flame Solaris itself. THE FLAME OF HOPE, worshiped by the filth of humanity in the deep spaces of Soleanna itself.’
“Aaahh!!” The ebony tendril scared Chip once it made contact with his fur.
What... what even was this guy? Chip had asked himself upon realizing that physical contact was hostile. Conveniently little Chip was all ears for Mephiles’s monologue. Mephiles? The mind hive of Solaris? Chip had made a huge mistake. This guy wasn’t mortal at all.
He commanded respect, even if it was motivated by instilled fear in Chip, —and divine lights above... Mephiles knew of him.
Chip wished he could return the flow of knowledge, but believe it or not, being one of the Gaias did not make you a divine encyclopedia.
“Can’t say I was.... Uuuhh… aware of your existence... before today.” Already, Chip’s natural connection to humanity was coming out in his voice. Mephiles talked with an authority and maturity Chip couldn't mirror. If anything Chip felt the need to respect his elders. He felt like a human child in Mephiles’s presence, acted like one too.
“If you’re here to wipe out humanity, please! I don’t want to fight!” Chip needed to put his tiny foot down somewhere in this conversation. He couldn't be so... docile and submissive. Not now, while an agent of chaos roamed the earth. Whether his loyalties lied to Dark Gaia or otherwise.

Chip was taking a walk in the meadows (specifically a walk as he didn’t see the need to tire out his wings just for getting from Point A to Point B). Enjoying the natural world always… calmed him. Kept him grounded, his mind clear, free of worry.
This place was so big and so beautiful, Chip thought to himself, he would have verbally commented on it, but he had no one here to talk—
— Scratch that, Chip’s eyes just noticed a red dog… wolf…. something or other in his eyesight.
and to be perfectly honest, it was never hard for Chip to attempt to make new friends.
“Hey!” Chip called out to the wolfie dog. It seemed harmless enough of a greeting. “You seem friendly, hi!”
sometimes people worry about you being a workaholic / it almost seems like you’re only ever in your workshop or in your own garden ( & yet / to their surprise that was not exactly the case ). you were one who loves to walk the earth / slowly experiencing what the world has to offer. it was always a dream so far out of reach of you in your past life / chained to the responsibility of supporting a family. yet the war changed everything / & you were left free to roam ( & at the cost of innocent lives / you try not to think about that right now ).
instead your thoughts were interrupted by a voice that calls itself out to you / trying your best to locate where it came from ( yet when you turn around you don’t initially see anything / yet upon looking down you see someone ). you simply pull up that facade of yours / a smile that says ( no worries ) on it.
❝ i almost didn’t see you there. hello , do you need something ? ❞ you hope it wasn’t a customer / you closed shop for the day & don’t really feel like working on anything today.
Always good to be acknowledged dispite your height Chip supposed.
“Nope, I’m just exploring, like you.” Chip hoped more than anything he could get a new friend by the end of this conversation.
Now, after resting this entire way, Chip’s wings finally felt the urge to fly, or more accurately, hover. “I’m Chip.” Chip put his hand out for a handshake. “It’s nice to meet you.” The little guy smiled so brightly, like interacting with any living creature on the planet was a new experience for him.
Because it kinda sorta still was.
“Are you a mechanic?” Chip wasn’t stupid, just mildly of an innocent child-like mind. He knew machines were things grownups and Tails liked to tinker with, and Gadget’ s gloves and shoes were a dead giveaway to his profession.

"mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell"
“…"
“Uuuhh… what’s a Cell?” Chip tilted his head slightly. Though he certainly was curious. The little guy flew forward and landed on the ground just below Gadget’s feet as it was mildly difficult to keep his wings at a steady flap while he was this genuinely curious and interested.
@nakotnes
Using his wings to hover in place (as per usual) Chip leaned down towards the white hedgehog he saw. It wasn’t Sonic, that much was for sure. But he had to admit they looked so similar they could very well be brothers.
“Wonder what he’s doing?” Considering Chip spent most of his previous time on earth with a friend he could talk to, forgive the little guy if he happens to talk to himself when no one is looking. He was at a far enough distance that Silver shouldn't hear him. Shouldn't anyway. Who knows how good hedgehog ears are?
