We made this really kickass flag for Prince Magnolia's webbed site page. It changes when you hover on it. I am in love.

I think maybe we are kind of good at making interfaces look pretty. Also, the flower petals actually fall. Yay particle physics!
Drew a new image for the webbed site!
How it started vs How it's going;
Got the outlines for the Frostbiter kids mocked up! Based off of these sketches done earlier. Might redo Gildhe's face and tidy up some outline widths, but otherwise they're pretty cute.
New pagedoll for our funky little site.
More headshots! Crislie's Da & Ma, Eustais & Avalin.
Got some of the gods drawn! Thah and Fraihz simultaneously look very old and very young, and I think that means we drew them right.

We still feel like making book covers, so we did some very low-quality sketches of Meparik and his siblings to collage into a cover layout! From left to right; Karah, and Merlie, Mep and Gildhe, Lonnie and Verlin, & Delise and Alevar. Good kids.
They are Arranged! They make a lot more sense once we put 'em together on the page. This is why Lonnie and Verlin are side profiles.
Eventually they'll get drawn for real!

Got the cover for Starlit Prince done!
Outlines for Prince Alaezel and Alluari! Going to have to fiddle around with the line weight in some parts (we haven't thickened his silhouette like we usually do yet) but it's a really promising start.
Final progress for the day until we go to bed! They're in an observatory <3

Cover revamps! Did a lot of very minute but very good changes.
Crislie and Navaeli got their proportions adjusted. Navaeli no longer looks like a bug-eyed alien, and Crislie looks more powerful.
Crislie's outfit more closely matches her chapter header artwork.
Ember Warrior's background got overhauled to match the new way we draw forests. Soft and leafy!
Improved the snow in Winter Herald.
The latter three book's backgrounds got blurred out a little to bring focus on the character in the foreground.
We thickened the lineart around the characters to make them stand out more too.
Added the series order to the titles!
Direct comparisons between where each cover started and where they're at now!

The great thing about being in charge of our own book design stuff is that we can, in fact, decide to go through a ridiculous amount of effort to create custom headers for every chapter.
We've gotten about two thirds of the way through Shadow Herald's headers right now. Downside; every time a chapter takes place in a new location, we have to draw that location. Upside; every time we draw a location, we can reuse it later. My gods do the shop interiors take forever.
Since we like making things harder for ourselves, everyone also gets cute winter outfits for Book Two!
Just for fun, we can compare the PDF headers (in color, sized precisely to fit the page) to the EPUB headers (monochrome, brought in to better fit unpredictable screen sizes, frame brightened up to be easier to see in both dark & light mode.)
Decent book design requires a lot of practice.
