someone in the comments of this performance said she sounded unsupported and everyone was ATTACKING them. but honestly, that was the first thing i thought 😭 she sounds lovely and this was a beautiful performance but everyone who watched wicked once has to stop pretending they suddenly understand the ins and outs of music especially classical training. even if she took vocal lessons she is still primarily a pop singer and that is OKAY!!! we do NOT have to claim that she is classically supported to hear that shes a good singer and portrayal of the character. it isnt an insult its just a statement

if someone is talking about movie elphaba being black and you say "no, elphaba is green" like some gotcha statement i literally do not fuck with you. the curtains were not just blue. they did not cast her, her mother AND nessarose the way they did for nothing. an albino black woman is still black, a lightskin black woman is still black, a black woman with vitiligo is still black. elphaba is still black it quite literally is that serious

I LOVE her so muchhhhh😆😆😆 I also would like to say this because it needs to be said. It’s crazy how Brittney played Glinda, and then it never happened again. Brittney Johnson is the only black woman and woman of color to play Glinda and it literally feels like she’s a token. After she left, white women started playing Glinda again. Don’t ya’ll find that suspicious?

lucy st louis, wicked london 2024. she was actually playing glinda until earlier this year.

yes brittney was the first and the most recent in america but she did only leave in 2023, and there have only been four actresses to play her since. it's crazy that it's taken this long to have a woc glinda (its honestly ridiculous to me) but it doesn't mean she'll be the last! london is already following quickly in broadways footsteps and i think this is a victory we have to celebrate. it's all too recent to be able to know if it's suspicious or not, i think.
