Little Things that Hufflepuffs do

Always make sure others are taken care of first- it’s a very typical Hufflepuff trait. You care for others first whether you mean to or not. This includes sharing things, making sure everyone is included in a conversation, or always making others feel better about themselves

Always seem to have a snack- Yup, I think this is pretty true. My sister’s a Hufflepuff and she always seems to have snacks hidden away. Like sourpatch candy in her car or a pocky box in her purse. It comes in handy

Do things the correct way- Maybe its the essay that everyone is cheating on or just copying straight out of the book like they were told not to. Even if a Hufflepuff tries to cut corners they end up working twice as hard to make it their own instead. It’s all worth it in the end though cuz you got the grade on your own

Always be a lot more laid back than others- Someone’s running late to meet you? That’s fine take your time and drive safe. Everyone is panicking about finals? Just work in your little ball of blankets with some sort of snack and drink by your side. People are fighting? “Guys calm down we can solve this”. Trust me people are grateful for this

Have really cute or just well put together outfits- I only know a handful of Hufflepuffs in real life but they always have great outfits. It doesn’t have to be super fancy or expensive either. Just something comfortable that looks great on you and BAM you’re rocking it

 Love animals- any kind really. Hufflepuffs are huge animal loves. There’s just something so fluffy about animals, maybe that’s why they have the least threatening animal to represent their house. It’s not always about the power struggle guys, sometimes it’s just about having a cute badger to represent. (But if we do wanna play for power, Hufflepuff have no problem bringing up the Honey Badger)

Loyal above all- Hufflepuffs hold strong against all of the odds and the taunts that they’re not “good enough” and honestly that’s what makes Hufflepuffs so great. They don’t care what you think. They want to have a good time and help others. They most likely have the strongest most lasting friendships

Okay Hufflepuff Rant coming through

So, I see so much stuff about Hufflepuffs being cuddly and nice and sweet, and it’s great, because they’re not wrong.

We’re sweet, we like to do nice things for people, it makes us feel good inside. We love to cuddle and snuggle up with people, we love big sweaters and fluffy blankets.

We love to bake and we love sharing what we make with others. We get emotional easily, we put others before ourselves. We love sunshine and sugar and everything nice, it’s true. But that’s not all we are.

We are determined, if we want something, we work for it, even if it’s hard or painful. If it’s worth it we’re in it until we get what we want, or because it’s the right thing to do.

We are stubborn, we don’t like being told what to do. We do things our way, or grudgingly, and trust me we can hold a grudge. If you piss us off we arent just agitated we are royally pissed, like, Ashley-Ketchadorian-you-were-supposed-to-be-watching-the-door pissed.

We swear like sailors, not around family or little kids, but by ourselves or around friends, you better fucking believe we’re going to say whatever tumbles out of our mouths.

We love our friends and accept and comfort them, but if they do something completely stupid, you better believe we’re going to chew them out for it.

Snappy comebacks, good Lord here’s one nobody ever adds. Most people think it might be the slytherins with a quick tongue, or the clever ravenclaws, but oh no, no no no it’s us, the Hufflepuffs. Not even a second to actually think before words come flying out of our mouths. Whether to add to a witty conversation or to bicker with someone, Hufflepuffs will surprise you with this one.

Another thing, there’s also a lot about how sweet Hufflepuffs are, but when they get mad, they get mad, as I mentioned briefly above. But to add to that thought, Hufflepuffs don’t just get mad, Hufflepuffs will verbally d e s t r o y you, if you give them a reason.

So yeah, we bake and we loves cats, good God we love cats, and we love everything and everyone, but we are a lot more than that too.

Okay but hear me out:

What if every Hufflepuff could have theoretically been sorted in to another house. They’re in Hufflepuff cause they don’t value those traits as much though. Like, every Hufflepuff I’ve ever met could clearly fit into another house, myself included. Hufflepuffs are in Hufflepuff cause they could be cunning, or wise, or brave, and they are all those things but they truly don’t value those things, they value kindness and hard work. That is why Hufflepuff is the house everyone should be afraid of. Because they are every other house and more.
