Deltarune spoilers waowaowwaowowaow my thoughts about something I didn't like

One-sided Krusie has probably been my biggest disappointment in Deltarune so far. I was super attached to Kris and Susie's relationship because how often do you ever see two friends just be allowed to be... friends? In anything?? It spoke volumes to my little aroace heart, seeing a close friendship that didn't feel the need to confirm to anything, and that felt free to do actions that were normally seen as "couple things". And seeing that be reflected in Kris and Susie's relationship was so special to me, 'cause I never see that. Things aren't ever allowed to be just platonic in this romance-crazed world. Seeing Kris get treated as the aroace third wheel in any relationship felt so fucking real.

...which is why all the alluding to Kris having a crush on Susie was the biggest disappointment I've had in Deltarune, because it really CAN'T just be a platonic thing. We really need more rep of people who are just friends and nothing more and challenge the idea of the line separating romantic and platonic. 🥹

But oh well. What will you do. Happy for all the Krusie shippers who won the lottery, LOL. Or sorry for the one sided yaori.

Other than that CH5 was fucking awesome and Flowery is probably my favorite final boss so far

after his voice getting cut off ralsei apologizes like "im sorry kris! i shouldnt have told you to turn his voicelines off in the config menu" and it sounds awfully like "im sorry i gave the entity possessing you a dangerous world controlling option" cuz its cutting off their communication as well as ralseis ability to gently steer us. they really were scheming to manage the player in the "close your eyes kris" moments. its so beautiful and sad. do you think are all kralsei moments are a show the two of them put on for us? do you think the lines get blurred? kris has shown they can sabotage sentences to be understood a different way. do you think they seem sincere and convey affection? do you think ralsei understands they mean it but sad We are making them say it? also the fact that theyre a lightner darkner duo omfg theyre so doomed

Berdly got a new, totally real, romantic partner!

Whew, I think this is my longest animation by far, just over 2 minutes in length. A surprising amount of effort went into this one, 90% of which was creating new sprites for Berdly and Susie, and I guess I'll see if it was worth it or not.

Thinking more on Blue & Flowery dynamic.

In the game, it says that Flowery and Blue are dance rivals.. interesting! Considering the two are the most emotionally mature and aware-of-the-situation characters, I can't help but think they have a lot in common yet are such different people. They both love deeply, and want to see Asgore happy, but I think Blue understands that the love Flowery has to give just isn't enough. What if they talked about that? Blue says that he recognizes Kris' love for Asgore and their family, and also acknowledges Flowery love... But when it comes to acting out Flowery's plan to STOP Kris, Blue is hesitant, he doesn't do it but maybe once or twice and even THEN he heals Kris and Flowery after the final battle!

And again, to bring up battle dialogue, Flowery calls in Blue and Blue says he will play his part. And when Flowery tries to dance, to get Blue hyped up just a bit, but Blue just shakes his head. AUGH. Blue, being hesitant, staying back, becoming melancholy that he must stop Kris when he understands the love Kris hold and the love Asgore holds is unfortunately stronger than what the flowers can give. He KNOWS that Flowery will fail, too. But he does still try, even if a little, because this should be a "comedy, not a tragedy." Flowery, I think, holds respect for Blue, but I think their views on what Asgore actually needs are different and it would be so interesting to explore that..

Blue and Flowery make me ill because they.. they are just so much more knowledgeable about things, that it makes me wonder if, when Flowery told the flowers the plan, if Blue maybe objected and asked Flowery if he's sure this will work, and the probability of it NOT working. That the dream the flowers hold will wither, no matter what.. and Flowery just says "Trust me. I believe, and so should you."

Blue being the only one to say "Thank you for watching OUR dream" is so interesting as well, as if he also never quite considered the other's dreams his as well.
