HELLO PEOPLE AND HAMILTON FANS!!
I don't know how far this will go, but I have a slight hope that at least a few people will see it and be aware.
Two things are happening that I would like to expose on this occasion, the first one is national (within my country) and the second one is international, more specifically, it is happening on the coasts of Mahahual, Mexico.
Not long ago, last year 2025, there was talk about launching a project called "Perfect Day Mexico" which is being sponsored by the FOREIGN company Royal Caribbean. They are a cruise line company. What am I trying to get at with this? Well, not long ago the project was on pause (due to ecological complications that I will explain later) but it was recently resumed, something that has caused outrage all over the world.
What are the problems or complications that this project would bring?
It is estimated that more than 30 plastic water slides, six huge swimming pools, 12 restaurants, and much more would be built in the park.
What does this entail? Well, here comes the matter, and it is more serious than people think.
First, if the construction of said park is carried out in this area, more than 90 hectares of jungle, mangroves, and wildlife would be completely displaced. I would like to emphasize that thousands of diverse species live here, such as ocelots, jaguars, spider monkeys, manatees, and many more species that are in danger of extinction, and doing this project would be equivalent to taking away their home and flat out wiping out all this biodiversity.
Second, one of the arguments used for building it is the "source of employment," and many have already exposed that this is counterproductive because, in the end, all the money collected by the park will be kept by the private and foreign company. What am I trying to get at with this? That it would be equivalent to all these Mexicans being overexploited without being paid fairly.
Another argument they use is that part of the territory will be recovered, and frankly, recovering 45 hectares out of the 107 hectares that make up this entire jungle is incomparable.
Third, I already said that Mahahual is home to many species of animals and flowers, but also, they are VERY CLOSE to the second-largest coral reef IN THE WORLD. Losing a reef that extends from Mexico to Honduras is no small thing; it is taking away the home, food, and natural habitat of thousands of species of fish, sharks, turtles, corals, etc., and all to create a cruise port that, in the first place, shouldn't even be considered to be there.
Fourth, the amount of waste. If in Mahahual there is already a small town with a community that does not exceed 3,000 inhabitants, imagine the amount of waste that would come from a massive construction that is planning to host at least 21,000 tourists PER DAY. That would mean an increase in environmental pollution.
Fifth, I return again to the destruction of the jungle; destroying it corresponds to eliminating an exaggerated amount of mangrove. Mangroves are important for the ecosystem; not only are they home to many animals, but they also function as a temperature regulator and prevent tsunamis from causing major damage to the surroundings.
There are hundreds if not thousands of videos on the internet about the consequences that carrying out this project would bring, and it would be good if you could read about it too; here I leave the link to one of the many news articles.

And finally, a signature collection is being made to prevent this; you are welcome to sign, and if you can't, you can also share it so that more people are aware.
@Claudiashein : Salvemos Mahahual — Detengamos el proyecto destructivo de Royal Caribbean
I think we need to be aware; we might think, "This is happening in another country, so it doesn't affect me," but let's remember that sooner or later, we will all pay the consequences of the destruction of protected areas on OUR planet.
Mexico doesn't need a water park; it needs its jungles and biological diversity.
I leave a picture of my Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson plushies from Hamilton to justify the # xd
And, that's all (for the moment). Have a great day <3
