So much pain weighed down on Husk, wrapping around him like a suffocating shroud. His tears refused to stop, no matter how hard he tried to hold them back. More than anything, he wanted Angel to be safe, to be far away from all of this. If it meant he had to suffer, if it meant he had to take the hit—he would. He always would.
But seeing Angel like this—crying, trembling, fists clenched so tightly—something inside him broke. All of a sudden, he couldn’t breathe. Just seeing the spider like that stole the air from his lungs.
"Angel..." he whispered softly, his voice barely above a breath. His gaze dropped downward, filled with exhaustion and emotion, before slowly lifting again. With a trembling hand, he reached out, gently brushing aside that stubborn curl from Angel’s face, his touch lingering for just a moment. His eyes stung from crying—raw, vulnerable in a way he had never allowed himself to be. But he had nothing to say. Because, even knowing the pain it brought, he knew he would do it all over again.
His tired eyes traced every detail of Angel’s face, memorizing him as if grounding himself in the moment. He took deep, steady breaths—as if he could finally breathe again. The warmth of a hand against his cheek made him lean into it instinctively, a soft purr escaping him. He melted into the touch, his own hand reaching up to gently wrap around Angel’s, pressing a weak yet tender kiss to it. as if saying im sorry.
"Angel..." he whispered, closing his eyes as his ears flicked back. He didn’t believe he belonged on a pedestal—not for a second. He didn’t believe he was too good for Hell. He deserved to be here. But hearing Angel say otherwise… made him want to believe it. "You are too good for this place, Angel. That’s why I did it..." he murmured into Angel’s palm, his lips brushing against the warmth of his touch. But then he paused. Golden eyes lifted, locking onto Angel’s, and his heart began to race—faster than usual, harder than he expected.
Slowly, his arms moved, wrapping around Angel, pulling him in close, holding him tightly. Tears continued to fall, but he didn’t care. "I won’t go… because I couldn’t live without you. If you ended up getting hurt..." his voice broke, guilt weighing heavy in every word. " i cant live without you. the world would be so dull"
