Brennan, isn't it weird there might be a bunch of worlds that haven't been discovered here in Videoland? Even if it means the obscure ones in general?
"It's not that weird. Videoland has changed a lot since Kevin and Lana toppled Mother Brain. And the Palace's domain is only fraction of Videoland. There's worlds out there under other domains that are out of my wheelhouse. Though, the Indie Isles are ever-changing, and those are always a treat to visit."
Oh, during my last visit outside of the Palace's domain, I visited the Sea of Thieves, and some of the pirates there were sharing a rumor about a lost world. They say it's a land of giants and it holds a rare ore that can make even the toughest of vessels float in the air. It almost sounds like it came from a dream."
"So, Waverly, I was just rēading your profile and it says that you're a zoomer who uses 90's slang. What's that about? It sounds like there's a story there somewhere."
Waverly looked at the Koopaling as if the latter was insane. Apparently, Ms. Forward being one of the few folks in Gamindustri unaware of an ever-cracking fourth wall.
"Well, my parents started their teaching career during that decade, and when you have to look over a bunch of kiddos on a weekly basis, chances are those phrases are going to rub off of you. So when they raised me, I overheard a lot of it when I was little. And when you're so young and impressionable, you wanna be like cool kids. And it felt like all of the older cool kids were from Planeptune, back when they used that extremely often."
"Now that I'm an adult? Not as much, unless I'm with friends or people who know what I'm talking about."
"Having said all that, please don't ask about my first project unless you can handle that amount of slang."

"I still can't believe my friend moved out of their Leanbox crib. They lived there for about... seven years?"
i think we are long overdue for a game that does the reverse of 90s first person shooters and actively makes fun of the player for picking the hard difficulty
heres kinda what i mean
/* Since I saw a couple of other people make these kinds of quizzes for their muses, I thought I would try one out for Brennan. */
Brennan, if you're not going back to your home world anytime soon, what other stuff do you want to do?
"Well, if I'm gonna be here for the long-term, I gotta do something to pay the bills. Adventuring does pay, but it's kinda inconsistent. I was a high school graduate before discovering Videoland and the rest of the multiverse, so I could take some sort of higher education or proper guidance."
In Donkey Kong Country 3, Bazaar the Bear talks about Link from the Legend of Zelda series visiting his shop and asking about the local castle. Alongside a reference to Rupees, the currency of that series, Bazaar mentions that Link muttered something about his "shells being the wrong shape". This is a very specific reference that not even all fans of the Zelda series may understand, and requires having played The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening in particular.
In that game, Link can collect Secret Seashells, which unlock the optional Koholint Sword (that game's equivalent to the Master Sword). The shells in that game are conch-shaped, while the one Bazaar sells in his shop is clam-shaped, so Link would not be able to use it.

A coupon for a restaurant that specialized in hot dogs and ice cream sodas? Sounds like fun, especially for a preteen like the New Kid. Upon reading the fine print, the curiosity in her face vanished.
"Look, I appreciate the offer, but how the hell am I gonna get to the middle of the Pacific Ocean? And it's apparently... underwater?"
"The neighborhood always plays that song from the American marionette movie around this time of the year."
