Playing zestiria after playing berseria: I MISS VELVET WHERE IS SHE????
My Legit feels. I finished Berseria (for like the 3rd time) and am playing Zestiria again. I miss my angry ball of calamity!!!
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
So I didn’t finish the first this game before the second game came out due to a recent Pokemon addiction (This is all Pokemon Go’s fault!) Instead of playing ToCS I was playing FireRed and OmegaRuby in that order lol. *Clears throat* Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyways on to Trails of Cold Steel. I swear this game is the love child of Final Fantasy 8 and Persona topped with some Final Fantasy 7. You have Class VII, a special bunch of military students (read: seed) going on missions (read: seed missions) all over the country of Erebonia. You increase your rank via AP which you earn depending on how well you perform your tasks or missions. So your rank increases without any of those annoying seed tests huzzah! You can also build bonds with your classmates for special attacks and special scenes later on in the game. Artes and crafts, magic and abilities in this game, are obtained with quartz (Materia) which can be equipped at will. The battles use a fun turn-based system that allows you to steal an enemies turn and use a s-break (super arte like a limit break) if you have enough CP.
The students of Class VII have diverse backgrounds and are lovable in their own right. The instructors at the academy are memorable and NPCs even have some background. The story is vast and well thought out. The world/politics of Erebonia are detailed and built very well too. The game does a great job of explaining the world to the player but if you need/want more info you can actually read more in the school library. One of my favorite things is the game is the superb writing, especially the way the characters talk and interact. I hear Xseed put lots of effort into translating this properly and I believe it. As for gameplay there’s plenty of it. There’s lots of story and side quests to keep you entertained. My first time thru I logged 90+ hours by the time I finished my second playthru and got the platinum trophy I was at around 150 hours. I can’t really say anything bad about this game except for the game ends on a huge cliffhanger but it didn’t bother me because I procrastinated playing this until the second one was out. Of course if I didn’t I would’ve been sooooooooooo mad. The third (and I’m guessing last game) has just been announced so the second game may end of a cliff hanger as well T-T. I will now leave you with a quote that accurate describes Rean’s (the main character’s) girl troubles! Until next time Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
So you snuck out to meet with a beautiful older woman. You lucky son of a… I mean shame on you. - Machias

P.S. Rise of the Tomb Raider for PS4 finally comes out today! Eeeeeeeeeeeee! I may be lured away from ToCS2 for that….
Blog Revival
*Throws life bottles all over the place* I would say I’m not dead yet but that would be a lie. I was totally dead....but not anymore! This year has been insane. Long story short 2016 is trying to kill us all and at the end of the year I’m so gonna make ‘I survived 2016′ T-shirts.
In gaming news I have cleared a few games on my backlog (Yay!) but that might’ve created more addictions (looking at you Legend of Heroes Series) because I finally finished Trails of Cold Steel! Stay tuned for my review that will be up soon.

11-05 Legretta’s Left-hand Gun
11-06 Legretta’s Gun Holsters
Currently making these effers for my Legretta cosplay for Aselia Con in a few weeks. @_@
A few weeks ago I completed, for the first time ever, Tales of Destiny. Better late than never right? First I’ll give you some background about Destiny! This game was released in 1998 in the US and belongs to NamcoBandai’s Tales Of Series. Destiny is the second game in the main series and features a linear motion battle system. This is the same battle system as Tales of Phantasia but it’s a bit more refined and works better! One of my favorite aspects of the Tales Series is the battle system but the older ones can be a bit of a pain. I found myself dictating each party member’s action in the later boss fights. The character interaction in Tales games is another one of my favorite features and Destiny does not disappoint. Although it lacks skits because they don’t appear until later games, they make up for it with interactive dialog and have humorous scenes throughout the game. Destiny is not all about fun and games though; it actually has a deep plot that will keep you guessing until the end!
Frequently occurring random battles get to be a bit annoying but they definitely give you plenty of experience throughout the game; I ended up being over leveled for most of the game. Some may hate this but I actually loved this aspect – I don’t like feeling obligated to level, I want to do it because I’m having fun or I’m trying to meet some sort of personal goal. I will warn that the end game dungeons are very frustrating both in design and encounter rate. Overall I have greatly enjoyed my first ever journey in Tales of Destiny and urge anyone who is looking for a classic rpg or a new series to get into to play Destiny! Until next time Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
Just started playing Tales of Destiny the other day and so far I'm loving it. I'm reminded of my Tales of Phantasia days!
This game has been sitting UNOPENED on my shelf since release day cuz I’ve been working like mad on my costume for the Tales convention over the weekend! The con was a blast so I’m not too sad! I knew I couldn’t open it cuz I would play it and never finish my poor costume. I had to take off work yesterday so I could have some time for my new game ^-^. Actual posts will be up soon! Until then Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
Akiba’s trip (Akiba Strip)
I’ve wanted to play this game since I first heard about it and I kept hearing about it but I was torn on which system to get it for. As soon as I heard that the PS4 version had all the dlc and a couple of extra features, my mind was made up and I bought it a week or two after its release. This game takes place in Akihabara the real life anime/game/pop culture center of Japan. Somehow the main character gets turned into a man-made vampire but rebels against his makers and ends up fighting other man-made vampires- yes the game is as crazy as it sounds AND hilarious to boot! There are also plenty of references such as “Well excuuuuuuuuuuse me Princess!” and “Listen to my story. This may be my last chance.”
It’s funny cuz when Jason first saw this game he said with a frown, “I don’t think this game is worth $50, it will probably drop down to $10 in a month.” I promptly pointed out that the PS3 and Vita versions were still price! Who says quirky Japanese games don’t amount to anything? OMG this game was the craze of my house after I brought it home! For over a month we were both are still playing this game! Yesterday was the first day since I bought this game in December that I took this game out of my ps4 and that was to put FF Type-0 in! I had to buy the vita version so I could get my strip on while Jason monopolized the game/PS4/tv so I could get my strip fix! The fighting is fun and the dialogue is even funnier! Since then I also talked my bestie into buying this game and yes she is hooked as well! She says this is a good stress reliever for the fact that she can’t strip her co-workers but she can terrorize the citizens of Akihabara! XD I will now leave you some of Nana’s terms of endearment for her brother! Until next time Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
“Brotagonist.” “Brotaku.” “Brotector.” “The Brosen One.” “Bro-pponent!” “Brototype.” “Brokedown!”
I tried to post this last night but tumblr ate it ;-; I finished invisible enemy mode! It was waaaaaaaaaay easier than real survivor mode. I even got a costume, a special picture, special art work, and a letter from the director for beating the final mode in under 5 hours! ^-^
Resident Evil Remaster HD Trophy Hunt
Since that day I played with my bestie I have beat this game 6+ times and I love every minute of it (minus the caves…oh how I still hate those effing caves) I’ve been enjoying the game soooooo much that I will attempt to get all the trophies. My first run of this game took me right at 6 hours. After I beat the game I learned of the CQCFTW trophy and thought OMG I CAN NEVER GET THAT but I stumbled across a walkthrough by a youtuber known as Vash12349 and he made it look easy. I actually tried it jokingly knowing I couldn’t beat the elder crimson head and when I got to that part I died…a lot but one time I actually made it through and was like OMG this CAN be done! So I promptly saved and was able to finish the whole game in 3 hours and 12 minutes! I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture with my phone, lol. My confidence grew immensely and I immediately started the game over again. When I finished I got just under 2 hours and 40 minutes – I was starting to feel like a Resident Evil pro! With the infinite Rocket Launcher unlocked I beat the game without saving one day after work. I just finished my two Chris playthroughs and the only trophy I have left is the invisible enemy mode! After finally beating real survivor mode any difficulty seems like cake plus after playing the game 7+ times I've memorized where all the enemies are so invisible enemies aren't too bad...yet! See below pictures for my stats! Now my best friend calls me the Gaming Goddess, lol. Until next time Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
I finally beat real survivor mode! It was very nerve-wracking!
Resident Evil Remaster HD
The original Resident Evil harbors so many nostalgic memories for me. When I was but a wee little pup I would go over to my best friend’s house and we would try to make our way through the dreaded Spencer Mansion. I would always end up playing while my bestie watched and refused to take the controller. I remember the scares, the tension of running out of ammo and/or health, getting poisoned (Richard dying), and lastly getting lost resulting in us having to start all over again. This game was actually too hard for two 11 year olds to play but we somehow managed to beat it even though the first time took forever. Fast forward to too many years later and Capcom announces RE Remastered HD… I promptly reserved it on the PSN and waited impatiently for the game to come out. When it finally did I relived many of my childhood memories. I fired it up and was creeped out while walking through the mansion again. When my bestie finally came over we played it just like we did in the old days; I gave her the controller and after the second zombie she gave it back to me, lol. We both jumped the first time a crimson head came after us and I nearly died trying (and failing) to outrun it. We both once again felt the uneasiness of the unknown; once again ended up lost but muddled through it. Richard died from lack of serum just like the days of old – It was just like being thrust back in time! Also I love how Capcom left all the classic gaming options in the game! I opted for the newer controls but you do have the option of playing with the classic tank controls; you can even select full screen instead of the new wide screen format. The graphics are definitely pretty and hunters are much more realistic than they ever should be! My best friend said that “the environment of the remake brings the eeriness of the original version to a whole new level. The fear is now real.” Now Resident Evil 3 has always been my favorite classic RE game but this was the game that started it all and I have enjoyed it this time around so much more than any other time. I give this game a very solid 10 out of 10! Capcom did it right with this game and I can’t stop until I have done everything in this game! I sincerely hope that they continue the remastering trend and make it to Resident Evil 3, if so then I can probably die happy ^-^. Until next time Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
P.S. There will be NO Jill sandwiches on my watch! XD
Tales of Hearts R
With Tales Con rapidly approaching (I CAN’T WAIT!!) I discovered that I never posted this >_< #OneDayIswearIwillGetCaughtUp #BacklogMadness
OMG! That was a really good game. Best portable Tales game ever! I beat it three times in a row. I couldn’t stop playing it! I played it on the PS TV, I played it on the Vita, and I might have even played it in my sleep! I ended with 92% of the trophies so I only lack 3 or so. I will most definitely get the rest of them some day!! The story was great, the voices were awesome (Shing was voiced by the same guy who does Natsu in Fairy Tail, I recognized him the first time Shing got excited ^-^) and the battle system was awesome as usual. Speaking of voices I really enjoyed the Japanese voices of course I would’ve preferred a dual audio where I could change it at will like Symphonia, but I would rather have a solely subbed Tales then no tales at all. If they would do that to Tales of Vesperia on PS3 I would be ecstatic! I did learn some Japanese playing tales of hearts. Futari Issho Ni! Oh and the name changing thing was somewhat annoying and still doesn’t make any sense to me what-so-ever. What is wrong with Shing, Zex, Galando, ect? The fact that I can hear the names in Japanese while seeing a different name in English caused me great internal conflicts, lol. Random quirks aside another reason I enjoyed Tales of Hearts is that it reminds me of Symphonia, Vesperia, and Abyss all rolled into one; which can never be a bad thing! Now I’ll leave you with a long yet hilarious skit from ToH. Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
Beryl is reading the wanted poster out loud to the group. She starts with the guys first and they comment that it's not that bad or pretty standard stuff for a wanted poster.
Wait until I get to the ladies. - Beryl "Ines Lorenzen: Soma unknown-all witness have been too distracted by her enormous attributes. Characteristics are hair of some kind, a stunning rack, and lots of jiggling. Oh, the jiggling. So much jiggling." – Beryl Hey! What kind of wanted poster is this?! – Ines "Kohaku Hearts: Wields a baton-like Soma. Characteristics are that she's a charming young beauty. P.S. That's what she wants you to think, but she's actually violent and kicks like a mule. Use caution." – Beryl Violent? Me? *CRASH* – Kohaku Those are at least true, if not totally sexist and insulting. But it's MINE that's really awful! – Beryl "Beryl Benito: Wields a broom-like Soma. Characteristics are a weird hat. She's probably, like, 10 or something. P.S. She seems to be the weakest member of the group, so focus on eliminating her right of the bat. Should be easy." – Beryl Seems fairly accurate. – Gall Yeah, that's you all right. – Ines No complaints here. – Shing My Soma is not a broom, you idiots! And my hat is not weird! And I am NOT 10 years old! – Beryl So anyone who sees these posters is gonna focus on Beryl, yeah? That's perfect! Now if things get hairy, we can just shove her in front of us and beat a hasty retreat! – Hisui
P.S. I died laughing. Seriously a life bottle was used to resurrect me XD
Bayonetta 2
Bayonetta 2
OMG this game was a perfect sequel to the original Bayonetta game. It had the same feel, cheekiness, and fun of the first one. It followed the template of the first game to a T and might possibly be the best video game sequel ever. I can’t say enough good stuff about this game! Again it was “chaotically fun” and action packed. The attitude and story was on par with the first game and Bayonetta is as cheeky as ever. I really liked the detail and tie-ins with the first one. B2 gets my game of the year award for the WiiU! Like the first game B2 ended how it began and although it was a sequel it also hinted at some precursors to the first game. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the controls but that’s just because I was fresh of a ps3 controller and was using a wiiU pro controller so of course the configuration is different. Platinum Games got it right with this one and I can only hope for more Bayonetta games in the future!! I’ll leave you with a before fight snippet from Bayonetta. Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
Good thing the three of us girls enjoy a good catfight. – Bayonetta Oh how I've longed for the day to see her suffer at my hands. This shall be the final day of your existence! – Alraune I don't know what you did to piss her off, but whatever it was... Nice. – Bayonetta
Bayonetta
I originally started this game awhile back but got distracted (the story of my life I know, lol) but now that Bayonetta 2 is coming out in a week I’ve resolved to finish this game before it releases! Oh yes and I’m glad I did! I had so much fun playing this game. It has a bit of everything- action, fighting, driving, comedy, flying, and lots of cheekiness. My bestie describes this game as SEXY and the battles as chaotically fun, full of non-stop action, topped off with seductive summons to finish off opponents. I loved how much action there was in this game and how Platinum threw all kinds of action everywhere! I ended up beating it the day after B2 came out so I guess I still did pretty good timewise. I also liked the extra ranked fighting you could do at the end during the credits. I really do wonder who would win a fight between Bayonetta and Dante. I’m guessing they would come to a stalemate and just end up making out, lol. Now I’ll leave you with a quote from none other than Bayonetta herself. Remember Play Hard, Play Often!
No, you get one thing straight. I'm not the slightest bit interested in the fact that you made these guns. If you get in my way, I will, how do the Americans put it? Oh yes. Bust a cap in yo' ass. – Bayonetta
