Saliens are invasive aliens that don't have a home planet and are crated as a slave species by other Aliens. Earth Saliens like Arias live in deep sea completely unknown to the human race, and taking resources and energy out of the placement planet profiting those who placed them. They are made by using the most suitable animal from the chosen planet and adding the base salien DNA and placing them on the chosen planet with the resources they need to expand their population and eventually kill the planet and its life.

A Saliens only given job in their lifespan objective. Bioengineered, test groups with a new chosen addition species go up to eight members. Arias aka BT-7 is part of the BT test group. Saliens don't have family customs so low empathy levels are profitable and the best outcome. 

Saliens don't age like normal species, aging to get to a certain size and then stop physically aging and live until something kills them witch is not easy to do.
