I missed tge initial pre-order window will there be a leftovers sale?

I’ll answer these both together.

First, i’m flattered that there’s still interest in the zine enough for people to ask about leftover sales. Thank you!

But unfortunately, there are no plans for a leftover sale as there isn’t really anything left. I made as many books as i needed for preorders and contributor copies. And that’s it. What’s left is just maybe a dozen raw textblocks and a few books i managed to ruin with mistakes at some point while making them 😅 i might be able to salvage them, but it would mean remaking/redoing major parts of them.

And after making that many books in such a short time frame, i admit i’m a little burnt out. So i’ll be taking a break from bookbinding for a while.

That said, i would like the remaining textblocks to not go to waste; they were very expensive after all. So eventually, i will bind them, and if there is interest, i could offer them for sale. They would be different from the original run versions, however. Probably simpler cover design, different stitching pattern, no spine charm, etc.

I’ll make a way for people to sign up for a newsletter or something if they’re interested in getting notified for those when i recover the spoons to make them.

heyhey, been a while! I hope everyone is well, and those of you who got zines, are enjoying them.

I kinda flopped on my promised series of posts on the "making of" and at this point I can't even remember what I intended to really do with that... But if anyone has any specific questions with regards to how the books were made, just shoot me a message or an ask, I'll be happy to answer as fully as I can.

I also wanted to give a bit of a financial breakdown for the project. Because I did say that I would. Contributors had access to a spreadsheet throughout the project that had all the costs laid out. I'm not going to publicly share that, but I will provide an overview and my final thoughts.

So. The final numbers:

As you can see, this project was deeply in the red LMAO.

And I don't think it necessarily had to be that way. I think it was a combination of bad timing, my own inexperience, my pigheadedness at making my vision exactly, and just... idk. Stupid mistakes.

To be clear. I'm not mad about how things turned out. Nor am I in financial dire straights (it pushed back some of my plans/goals, but nothing drastic, I'm fine). I don't regret doing this zine and I'm glad I did it by hand. I learned a lot. I have a newfound and mad respect for those who make zines on the regular. I know that if I were to do another, I would do many things differently (but realistically, I am very unlikely to do another, lol).

I am glad people seem to like their books. I have heard from a couple people, through the grape vine, that people do actually really like them and think they are genuinely good quality books. And that means a lot to me, because as I sat there alone on my living room floor surrounded by paper trimmings and cover materials and only half way through the mountain of books I had to make, I did doubt.

For most of the project I struggled with the fear of disappointing everyone with a subpar item, not worthy of the incredible contents contributors worked so hard to create. But the more books I made, the more I came to realize that while perfection is a fine ideal to strive for, it's not really realistic. The imperfections, the flaws, add something to each book individually. They prove that each one was painstakingly crafted with heart and passion and my own two imperfect hands.

So sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who cheered and supported this project. It was absolutely a labour of love.

Also. I am still intending to make up the rest of the textblocks I have left (there's only about ten). If you signed up for an email notification, you'll be the first to know when and how those copies will be available, hopefully sometime this fall/winter (you can still sign up if you want, see my pinned post).

We are still working on about 27 US orders, but all other orders have been shipped and everyone should have received an email with tracking info (if applicable), and links to the digital files.

Another Shipping Update!

Okay! So! All physical orders have left my possession.

The bulk of US orders have made it safely across the border and will be distributed by our lovely US proxy shipper.

All other orders are on their way to their final destinations. I believe some of you have already received them!

Now, about the digital versions.

The digital stuff has been extremely challenging for me, draining in a way that the physical production was not. And so it took me way way longer than it should have to get everything finished. And for that I apologize. There are still a few things I want to get polished off, but then I should be able to email out the links, hopefully this weekend! All the digital files will be in a google folder for you to download and enjoy.

Thank you all for your patience with this project! We're very close to the end, and it has been a Journey.

Here we go!! Shipping is officially underway!!

It took me a while to figure things out, and i’m lowkey still sweating about things getting where they need to go, but the first batch of orders is out the door! Yay! I’ll be working on another batch this week, and so on and so forth, until! Everything is shipped. I’ll work on getting tracking info out as well, so keep an eye on your email.

hey! I was wondering if you'd looked into services like chitchats or stallions for shipping from Canada. I'm not Canadian but I've heard other Canadian shipping mods use these services, and they should provide slightly cheaper shipping options!! You can also email buyers and see if anyone is willing to pay extra for their shipping/tariff costs - I'm sure many people would be willing to pay the extra especially since we all know the shipping situation rn is wonky. And definitely please don't financially stress yourself out over this!! I'd also be more than happy to make a donation helping with shipping fees especially since this is such a unique and cool project

Mm, yes! I’ve never used them before, but i am now planning to use chitchats for domestic and US shipments, and stallion for all other shipments. When it comes to the US tho, it’s the tariffs not the shipping so much that kills. The near $50 quote was from stallion 😅 and afaik, the US doesn’t allow anything to ship from canada unless the tariffs are either prepaid or have a guaranteed way to charge the shipper per the executive order last summer, so COD isn’t even an option. It’s a major bummer that politics is screwing us all over rn, but it’s not an insurmountable obstacle.

However! i’m always open to more advice, suggestions, or tips if anyone has any. I am certainly not a shipping or zine expert. Or any kind of expert for that matter lol.

This zine really does have the best supporters and contributors, tho 🥺 everyone has been incredibly understanding of the delays and many have offered to chip in financially. But i promise, i’ll be fine. So thank you, anon. Really, you are all far too kind.
