Art is extremely important. it can unify us and that’s the best feeling in the world; the imagination, an awareness that all human beings are made up of the same things. if done right it is priceless and necessary.

Welcome to the KitKatKlub...For the very last time! :(( ((+ audio link))
One time during the “Audience Participation” segment of “Cabaret” at the beginning of act 2, Alan Cumming told the lady he was dancing with “Oh you are almost a groupie,” because she had seen the show four times.
Now, with this in mind yours truly has decided maybe I am too ‘almost a groupie’ given Alan’s standard lol! I’m kidding, but one thing is for sure, in a very short period of time I came to love Cabaret so so much, and this show simply means a whole lot to me now! Wicked was my favorite Musical for a very long time, but needlessly to say I think Cabaret has taken that place now. It seriously takes a special kind of show to literally make you leave your troubles outside at the beginning of the show, just so that they can take your heart, rip it out, stab it, throw it in the toilet, flush it, get it back, push it back inside you, and leave you feeling broken beyond belief YET at the same time wanting to go through the whole experience again and again.
*sigh* Having said that, this is just my bye-bye post to Cabaret. Sunday’s show was without a doubt one of my favorite Cabaret shows I’ve been to. I honestly feel very lucky & just plain happy to have been there. Surprisingly enough I didn’t cry during the show which I was expecting considering how much I bawled at Emma’s last show, but on Sunday for me it was just hard to feel sad when Alan Cumming —aka the most epic Emcee i’ve ever seen— was having SUCH A GOOD TIME! The guy was enjoying himself SO much and you could just feel what a great time he was having, and how much the whole thing meant to him.
The only time I felt a bit choked up was during Linda Emond’s first song. She’s SO good, and her performance is always super emotional and awesome, yet you could tell that day it was if only a little more emotional and moving.
All in all, I believe with all my heart the whole cast left their all on the stage, and it truly was a great privilege to be there. I can’t even begin to describe how completely amazing the performances were, and even the audience was incredible. When Alan came out at the very beginning everybody was clapping so much and so hard it was a good couple of minutes before he could start the show. This was one of those shows where I clapped SO much my arms hurt, and smiled SO wide, my cheeks starting hurting as well ——aka the way ALL shows should be. Really, it was incredible!
There was a speech at the end, and nice things were said about the whole cast, and the company ((Seriously, the boys & girls of the kitkatklub are THE very best ensemble in the world. That group of people is SOOOOO talented, and kind, and ugh, seriously, they get just as much kudos as everyone else in the main cast :)) Sienna Miller was called an “angel” by the guy making the closing speech —-& overall her performance that night was very good. There is something about Sienna that I don’t completely like, but I think it’s something to do with her personality & not at all with her acting chops which makes it a moot point anyway. At the stage door she remarked how much she’d enjoyed her last show, and she said how she’d “peaked’ — She said “it doesn’t get any better than Sally Bowles” and I thought that was an awesome comment! True dat miss Miller lol :))
This is my closing day playbill!
I love it so so much & I think I’m even going to frame it one day lol! Danny Burstein didn’t come to the stage door, which bummed me out a bit, I really love the guy, but oh well, almost everybody else came and this playbill is just super awesome! it’d be even better if Miss Em had still been Sally & her autograph was there but oh well
For some magic reason I was able to get a spot against the barricade, so I was able to easily thank the cast, take pics, get their autographs etc! That day the stage door was PACKED! When I got out there was already SO SO many people but thanks to the kindness of a Dad of the girl who eventually stood next to me, I got a good spot :)
I was FINALLY able to tell Kaleigh in person what a marvelous Sally Bowles she’d been in January when I saw her! And holy cow, she was TOO sweet! She & Andrea were the first two coming out and both were just super sweet & kind! Best of luck in everything that they do next! I’m REALLY hoping they go in the North American Tour! Because of course you know I’m gonna be there front and center at least in one city! Crossing my fingers they go to Georgia, though I doubt it, but still, it’d be awesomeee! :))
Can you please look at THE CUTENESS that is Andrea Goss???!! :)
Bill Heck was a peach! I do love him, he’s SO kind, and SO underrated! I really think he’s a nice Cliff so I was happy to see him one last time LOL! Bill & the security guard teased me about my playbill because it was so full he didn’t know where to sign! :)
HANI! Whom I’ve never met before but she was super sweet!
Can you PLEASE note the pineapple tag!?!? She’s honestly one of the sweetest humans in the planet! She was SO sweet ((& I know I say that about everybody BUT I really mean it)) When she saw my green fingernails she was incredibly kind and made me smile so much saying how amazing that was!
AND Of course Alan! I DO SO love him in that weird way that you can love celebrities who you don’t really know! He’s really great, and it was my absolute pleasure to have seen him perform in this role especially! Roundabout Theatre Company will forever have a special place in my heart for bringing back this production and allowing me to experience it :))
Here’s the link for the audio of the last show! It’s not my best recording, and for that I apologize lol! I was SO loud, but you can’t blame me, I was in a VERY VERY happy place, and the show really was fantastic!! Although yours truly didn’t cry, the girl next to me did near the end, so there is a bit of sniffling too :) Still, if you wanna listen/download the performance, there it is :))
Last but not least AT ALL, I NEED to mention Miss Emma Stone …
….because she was the sole reason I became interested in Cabaret in the first place. Before it was announced she’d taken the role, I remember vaguely knowing the movie & of course knowing Liza Minnelli had been Sally Bowles ——fast forward six months or so, I’ve read just about everything I could find on Cabaret, the book, read on all the different Sallys, I’ve seen far more videos and heard far too many bootlegs from all the different casts through the years, and what a joy that has been. All that was thanks to Miss Em, so she deserves a big ole thank you from me :) I’m not gonna repeat how incredibly AMAZING it was to see her perform live, and what an INCREDIBLE Sally I believe with all my heart she is —-but she SO IS! :)) Like the Garfy once said, I too thank ALL of my lucky stars for having allowed me to meet her and see with my very own eyes what a SWEET & kind, and wonderful human being she is!
So thank you Miss Em! She’s the ABSOLUTE BEST! :))
And thank you Cabaret! And Alan! AND the AWESOME INCREDIBLE Cast! & the crew! & the nice man at the box office who knew me by name by the end! (lol) & the security guys that while annoying at times with the no pictures policy were simply doing their job & freezing every night just so everyone behaved around the cast! So yeah, thanks EVERYBODY at Studio 54!
I saw four takes on Sally & they were all marvelous in their own very ways!! Will miss the show SO much and it SO breaks my heart to think Studio 54 no longer hosts the KitKatKlub! :(
Auf Wiedersehen Cabaret!!
((one day when it hits me FOR REAL that Cabaret is over & I’m ready to bawl my eyes I will definitely write a post about all the different times I saw the show! When I sat in the same room with Meryl Streep but didn’t know it, when Emma dropped the hat during Mein Herr accidentally & picked it up only so she could throw it herself ten seconds later on the right cue…or when she almost choked to death drinking her “gin” one day & yet kept going —I SO have to write all those down lol!))

“Andrew and I pulled a couple of pranks on each other, like parking my car in front of his trailer so he couldn’t get in, and then he put my car on one of the soundstages with a note on it that said ‘Move your car, asshole!’ In the middle of the stage!”
