with her it was all about the small things.

she'd listen to you talk about your day as she aided you in unlacing your corset. her fingers working carefully on the ribbons while you lifted your curls off of your neck so she could then remove your necklace. though, you never took off the poor chain so she'd simply adjust the clasp, ensuring it stayed hidden under your hair.

she'd keep you company on your long walks through the castles gardens. you'd both listen to the chatter of singing birds and hum to the rippling streams that flowed beside you. sometimes she'd remain three pages behind you as if operating as a chaperone while a clumsy boy made his attempts to entertain you. mostly, she resided beside you as your companion.

and what a lovely companion brienne was.

if need be she'd draw her sword in the blink of an eye and kill for you. she'd sweep you off your feet, the fabric of your dress tangled in her fingers as you made your way. she'd provide you with soft advice and careful comments and you thank the gods- the old and new that she was so bloody honest. that she swore herself to you. and truthfully, you couldn't imagine being with anyone else.

your interest in her was selfish. you were promised to a lovely lord. surely. he was maybe kind and fabulously wealthy but you didn't want him. everytime you blinked you saw her short golden hair. you heard her laugh, felt her touch and sensed her strong presence even in her absence. you couldn't help the fact that you'd grown so fond of her.

brienne's love for you made the woman almost feverish. every "my lady" that left her lips began sounding more like a plea as her blue eyes flitted over your face during conversation. she noticed how you'd tease her. how you'd leave lingering kisses on her cheek or intertwine your fingers in a particular way. how youd invite her into your bed late at night claiming you simply couldnt sleep. how no one seemed to notice because that is simply how girls behave around one another.

every time brienne felt your breath on her neck her heart skipped a beat. her face flushed. all of a sudden she wasn't so composed. all of a sudden she was reduced to that of a clumsy school aged girl incapable of uttering out a single word. her face flush, her thoughts incoherent. she'd find herself dreaming of you. touching herself to the thought. maybe it was shameful, but there really isn't anything wrong with having a dream.

especially when it didn't have to be a dream.

not when she was clawing at the linen of your dress, pushing the silk up on your thigh and your fingers hooked onto her blonde hair. or when you found yourself stifling quiet moans as she slipped a finger into your wet core. her tongue circling your clit as your body tensed. it didnt have to be a dream and thank the gods it wasn't.
