I love getting unaccompanied minors (kids flying alone) who so clearly just. Don't want to be here lol. Sometimes I get to know a little of their story, like their parents are divorced, or a family member died and they're heading to the funeral, but usually they just don't want to talk about it and that's fine. But I always treat the flight like it's a challenge to make them smile. I offer them snacks and soda but that's never enough, that's whatever, they could get those from an airport vending machine. Chump change. So then I tell the worst jokes. Just the most embarrassing, kindergarten teacher, annoying dad jokes you can think of. And those always get a groan, or a "Seriously??" And that's my in! Now I can say "Why, what's your idea of a good joke? No, come on hotshot, make your best joke, let's see it." And they hem and they haw but of course they eventually tell me their very best joke because kids are little competitive comedy goldmines. And it's always super funny, so I laugh, and that's where they slip up. Because you know what you almost always do when your joke successfully makes someone laugh? You smile. And I'm like. Gotcha. Rookie move. Now you're going to end up having a good time in spite of yourself. I win.
Did this with an 11yo u.m. today and he said "What did the ghost say to the other ghost?" And I said "What?" "Nothing. Ghosts aren't real."
I'm literally a flight attendant, offering snacks and drinks is my job
Obsessed with you all
I have cochlear implants and I can only buy parts to fix them or upgrade then from 1 corporation bc of tech exclusivity. upgrades to get new processors for both ears cost $23k & insurance only covers 90% (and itâs âgoodâ insurance)

In light of memorial day, 66% of women in the military experience sexual assault.
"Sixty-eight percent of servicewomen and female veterans surveyed in a 2019 study said they experienced discrimination due to gender or gender identity in the military, and 66% experienced sexual assault or sexual harassment in the military."

People in the comments saying âI canât believe the US is doing worse thanââ the US has always done worse, itâs just ignored or treated as a necessary evil because ~freedom and democracy~.
Anyone ever think about how the classic âdad gets custody on weekendsâ arrangement that MRAs complain about is actually misogynistic? If one parent constantly gets you up in the mornings, often puts you in after school programs because she works, and only spends quality time with you when youâre both tired between work and bedtime, your relationship with that parent is gonna be strained. If one parent lets you sleep in and watch tv, never had to work and can spend all their time with you, youâre obviously going to prefer that parent.
On top of that, it sets up a system where the mother has to do most of the actual âparentingâ such as taking kids to school, making sure they do homework, etc, while the dad mostly just hangs out with the kids. The dad doesnât have to worry about the kids when heâs working, because in a way he functionally still has a wife to do that for him. I knew kids on this schedule whose dads didnât make them do homework, didnât enforce bedtime, basically any of the hard parts of parenting. Even in the best case scenario, the mom is still going to be seen as the âmean parentâ by the child, despite working 5 times as hard as the dad.
Not to mention weekend dads often get their mothers or girlfriends to do any actual parenting during the weekend, while they get to be the fun guy who brings McDonald's.
If it isn't too invasive, would you be willing to elaborate on the comment about having had sex w/ mtf males before? I've never had sex with a male of any kind, and people constantly use that as a reason to act like I don't know that i'd like it, even though I get really uncomfortable at even the thought of it. Hearing from an older lesbian with more experience would probably help me trust my own instincts more when I'm being talked down to about what I "should want".
I really donât like body-shaming anyone, so I hesitate to talk about it in detail publicly but I guess this is anonymous. However, I did get sucked into the âyou should be open-minded!!â mantra and, since I consider myself open-minded, I had sex with a post-op MTF.
A lot of the changes transition focuses on are purely visual, which makes sense for passing, but sex is far more intimate. When I was actually touching this person, I felt maleness everywhere - the size of the bones, the angle of the hips, breadth of shoulders, the hip/waist ration, even the subcutaneous layer of fat that women have under their skin wasnât there. The softness and roundness of even the slimmest female body was absent and it was very jarring to me. If you close your eyes, which people generally do during sex, you can absolutely tell youâre touching a man who has breast implants added onto his body and his penis removed.
As for the bottom surgery itself, the scars were hidden under pubic hair but there wasnât exactly a clit - more like a fold (some surgeons create this detail, others appear to not care) and the placement of the neo-vagina sits too far forward in the hips and the neo-vagina itself doesnât angle towards their back as youâd expect. The lining also feels thicker and drier. It honestly felt like putting my fingers inside a deep belly button. Oh, and itâs not connected to anything - no cervix, no musculature, no stretchiness and wetness with arousal, no convulsing with pleasure or squeezing⊠just nothing. As a woman who has sex with women, itâs completely unlike a vagina in every way. Itâs literally created by male surgeons based on the idea of what a vagina is, which is apparently a pocket you can put your penis in and nothing else is needed.
So yeah, as much as people are arguing on here based on who can pass in which photo, sex is not a photograph. It involves a LOT of other senses and this experience didnât pass any of them. I donât feel any desire to replicate it and you shouldnât either. And thatâs for the 10-15% of MTFs who even have bottom surgery. The rest of the time you will be dealing with a dick which produces far more testosterone than someone who is post-op, so the musculature and feel will be even more obviously male.
No one can tell you what you âshouldâ want. The âshouldâ in that sentence is just offensive from the start. Instead they need to listen to YOU telling THEM what you do want, and ask them why they feel itâs so important to them that you have to settle, that you have to have mediocre sex that doesnât interest you, that you canât be the one who decides what you want while they support you in your choices.
This also applies to the trans perspective and the poor soul who was on the receiving end of this encounter. Everyone deserve to have sex with partners who really want to be there, not some lesbian who is forcing herself to âgive it a fair try.â Itâs a degrading, pointless experience for everyone involved and it appalls me that this rhetoric continues to exist.
really cool of google doodle to leave out lesbians
the flag was in the fucking draft? it was in the original version and they consciously chose to remove it???
the lesbian flag was in EVERY ONE of these concepts so what the fuck happened
The creator fucking left us out solely bc the creator said some âaphobicâ things and decided ppl who donât fuck r more a part of the community THAN THE GOD DAMN L
Ace and Aro people are just as much a part of the community as âthe god damn Lâ. We are much more than people who donât fuck.
Honestly.
Shitting on and excluding a part of the Lgbtqia+ spectrum while you yell about being excluded is more than a little tone deaf. Tap dancing baby jesus on a fucking unicycle, it isnât that hard.
Really? What have you contributed?
what oppression do the Ace community face exactly?? You donât feel valid?? Fuck off.
Remember when an ace person got âhomosexualityâ removed from the American Psychiatric Associationâs list of mental illnesses? Oh wait, that was Barbara Gittings, a lesbian. Did an ace person punch a cop at Stonewall and incite the riots? No, that was Storme DeLarverie, a lesbian. Were there any asexuals helping to organize the first Pride? Again, those were lesbians (Ellen Brody and Linda Rhodes) and gay men (Craig Rodwell and Fred Sargeant), as well as a bisexual woman (Brenda Howard). Were asexuals known to help gay men during the AIDS crisis? No, that was lesbians. Did an ace person overturn the discriminatory âdefense of marriageâ act? No, that was also a lesbian, Edith Windsor. Even outside of the US, you will find that activists for the gay rights movement (now referred to âLGBTâ) were, well, gay people. Our fight was always one of sexual freedom. And, while asexual people have their own struggles, Iâm sure, the idea that they belong in the âLGBTâ community is very new and misguided. To assert that asexuals are âjust as much of a part of the communityâ as lesbians is absolutely absurd. Lesbians are the ones who, throughout history and still today, were oppressed because of their same sex attraction. They (along with gay men) built this community from the ground up, struggling for centuries to get where we are today. You all didnât even force your way in until the 2000s. In fact, Iâm old enough to remember when the âAâ still stood for ally.
The Q used to stand for Questioning in order to offer solidarity to those who were struggling with internalized homophobia or who couldnât come out bc their parents were homophobic. But straights just couldnât fucking resist calling us a homophobic slur
I still canât get over how genderqueer and nonbinary are the same made up thing and they put both of them.
^^ This. They wonât include lesbians, but theyâll include 2 completely meaningless terms??? Thatâs like kicking us when weâre down. The misogyny is RIFE.
Never forget:
Happy Pride.
Finally.
