Summary :
In this au multiple mythologies, gods and beliefs encounter each other, so it's not singular to Chinese mythology
Li Wei is a monkie demon, aged 4003 years who's the shepherd of a sacred herd of antelopes. She travels the world with her herd and her journey brings her near Megapolis where she gets a temporary job at Pigsy's noodle. Everything happens after season 5 for now, and reason Pigsy is searching for a new employee is because he has decided to slow his shop and his work and give MK a break. After everything that happened, he wants to reduce the weight on his son's shoulders and his owns and profit every day he has with his family.
MK has more time for himself and don't really know what to do with his days.
Wukong and Macaque relationship is still delicate, after all the events of s5 and they don't know how or what to say to each other.
So what's gonna happen when a strange monkie lady, who fights like a beast, but isn't a part of the 4 spiritual primates show up and start helping and live with all the LMK crew?
What's gonna happen when MK asks her to become his teacher ? Aren't three mentors too much? And why does he have that strange feeling whenever he sees her, like a far memory that he had forgotten long time ago (no she's not his mom !!).
She's been created by Nüwa as a gift for her father, a monkey shepperd, and grew up in the castle of a the haze God, Wù dī, also nicknamed Smog. Wù dī was a crazy bipolar dude that doomed her with a death curse when she was 204 years old. The curse is a forbidden one leading the victim to die by the hand of the one that cursed them whenever they want.
Her father died of sadness some times later, and Li Wei decided to leave the palace, travelling around Asia, Africa, Europe and a bit of Oceania with her herd for the time that she is alive.
She has met lots of Gods, heroes, people and cultures within her journey that gave her experiences and created bonds, friendships and rivalries. And to fall in love too.
Many times.
And let say that one of those love story was so strong that it leaded to an eternal wound in her heart, that's reminded by a two pieces earring that floats near her mane, and the whiteness of her pupils.
Wù dī lets her live for now, as long as she protects correctly her herd, but it's already having been 3800 years that she's curse so who know… Maybe her time is closer than though.
Her malediction prevents her to use any magic.
Relationship in this AU !!!!! :
current one : Freenoodles, PIF x DBK, Spider Queen x Scorpio Queen
New one : Sun Wukong x Macaque x Li Wei.
Alright ! So, to be clear about this one, in this au I'm gonna make a loving relationship between wukong, macaque and li wei, and I don't mean that I'm gonna do a wukong and macaque are in love with my oc, I mean that wukong and macaque are in love with li wei, li wei and macaque are in love with wukong and wukong and li wei are in love with macaque !!! Like everybody loves everybody in my world, Ok ? There's no favorite one or idk what.
Like it's a throuple / polyamorous !!!!!!
Li Wei's personnality :
She's a funny, stubborn, polite, strong and decomplexed lady with some flashiness who loves to dance and act in public. She has lived and experienced tones of things. She will think fast and in a practical way in critical situations, keeping most people safe. The burden of her curse on her shoulder pursues her with the ages, and she considers herself the only one who must carry it. She's at peace with herself and is really happy to teach MK and Mei.
Li Wei is the responsible kind, not the type to run away from her problems, which is kind of a problem too because sometimes she forgets to share her troubles and ask for help to others.
So in the end it's Palm, Krios, Barbara and Li Wei that I would show this year, I'll see if I'm able to add Ophelia or Hatsuka to the list, I'd like to have at least one human oc in my list.
Doodles with MK, Bai He, Li Wei and some antelopes of the herd interacting. It all happens, months after Wei arrived in Megapolis and got used to the crew. + Wei in her giant form
Mk became Kesari's favorite human after their first interaction. Nobody knows why, but the little calf got so attached to our noodle boy, his tails would wag frantically whenever he sees MK from afar, and he wouldn't let him go back to his home at the end of the day.
Update I changed the backgrounds for more vibrant colors, the grey ones didn't gave the mood I wanted
Wukong always seems to be free for Mk, whenever the day or hours. He trains Mk during the afternoon, day and even evening before new year, also period one of the biggest celebrations of the year whatever the country you're in. The only reason he wanted to celebrate it was for Mk to spend more time with him at Flower Fruit Moutain.
You could basically say that wukong doesn't have a busy life, the way his freedom is also plain of loneliness and boredom. His training with Mk is the only thing that puts an habits over his days.
For Macaque it's practically the same, he's elusive of his activity so we don't really know if his job as a puppeteer is consistent or random, he's always ready to spare with Mk and be here to save him from any dangerous situation.
It appears his life must be the same kind as wukong's.
And being the student of these two it might creates some feelings of resonsability towards them. Not only Mk has to run those training sessions to get stronger and learn his new powers, he must also check on the monkie king and macaque to see how they go. I can perfectly imagine Mk being worried at the idea of wukong having melancholic thoughts of his past friends when he's alone, and how bad macaque could feel thinking of his past relationship with wukong.
Which is why I think some aspect of Li Wei's training might bring benefits to our noodle boy. Bcos first of all her mentoring Mk is not her main activity, she's also a shepherd and an employee at Pigsy's noodle and another mentor for Mei. Her classes are predetermined for the week and sometimes she can't take Mk for a bonus session because she's busy and she has a life outside of just being a mentor. Her life is not centered around mk, thou he's an important part of it once she reaches Megapolis.
She also takes time for herself and relaxes a bit whenever she feels she reaches her limits and doesn't hesitate to tell the kids. Mk would ask if they can go for another round of fighting session, and she would just simply tell him she's tired and will spend the rest of the evening alone.
Maybe at first Mk wasn't used to these kinds of answers and the honest normality of her tone when she said it, not as a blame, an excuse or a sorry way. Just the course is done, they will spare next Saturday, she will have some time for herself and that's it.
As Macaque was spying Li Wei to find some interesting information about her, he discovered that every night, when she ends up her service at Pigsy's noodle, she reaches a herd of strange giant antelopes. The next day, he waited for her to leave. When it was evening and he was prepared, he sneaked into the herd and started his research. Until the antelopes found out his presence and start acting protective over Li Wei's stuff and the calf's group.
However, one of the calfs, curious, reaches Macaque and start playing with him. Except that the Warrior wasn't in that state of mind and try to push the calf away. That calf was stubborn and came back every time, under the narrowed eyes of the adults. As Macaque reaches his limits with patience, he gave a slight hit to the calf. Or rather he tries to hit them. That was until a yellow and blue flash appears before his eyes and separate the Shadow Warrior and Baby.
Just Pigsy's usual amount of animals sleeping at the entrance of his shop. Sandy's cats and Li Wei antelope (Ni) like to nuzzle under the sun in front of the shop after a long day of work. While Li Wei, Sandy, Pigsy and Tang chit chat and cook inside.
I might as well ask about Li Wei, fun facts and stuff
Also what is it about Wukong & Macaque that she likes & dislikes, like what was the thing that draw her into them & them into her
didn't find any ways to make a short post
Things they like about her :
At the beginning I think Macaque was the first one to understand how experienced and wise Li Wei was. Behind her cheeky and unbothered attitude she's capable to judge a situation and act seriously within minutes. And he was really thankfull to have another strong allies within their ranks.
Her insight, she can analyze a situation and react accordingly to the global atmosphere quickly. It’s really nice for them to meet someone with the same ability.
They like her stubborn attitude.
The way she doesn’t treat them with highly manners and she doesn’t hesitate to stand up to them when she disagrees.... It's a bit hot
Macaque founds comfort in the fact she has lived a life more casual than Wukong. Even if Macaque is a powerful demon that lived thousands of years and participated in heavenly battles like Wukong, his life still cannot compete the one the Great sage equal to Heavens had. Anyway, there's not much life that can rival with Wukong's one. And at the same time Macaque's life was not normal either, he cannot speak about it to any members of the monkie crew and expects to hear comparative experiences. All the members are reincarnations or descendants and are living their first lives.
So Macaque appreciates finding someone who has similar experiences and life pace. Someone who knows what having parents and growing up feels like. Not that he cannot discuss those subjects with Wukong, but he knows the monkey king won't have a personal experience of it and it will mostly be Macaque speaking. Plus he doesn't really want to point out how Wukong didn't have parents at all when he was younger, it's not a subject really easy to address, and he doesn't want to toss things that will never change.
They like the way she's genuily easy to be around because she don't judge people out of the blue.
They kinda like when Mei does a TikTok trend with Li Wei and it's a dance one.... and they can just stare at Wei's ass for minutes if they want. They can just play it again and again and even save it without anybody knowing.
They love how confident she is with her body and she doesn't care about dancing shame, she met so many cultures and lands and see so many ways to move, literally dance is just moving parts of your body in a way you feel like it. She won't force them to follow her vibe, but it just seems so pleasant it's kinda contagious. She don't care that they're messing their moves as long as they're having a good time. She will even make a fool of herself to make them decompress a bit. That's something Macaque and Wukong desperately love about her, she manages to ease them and give them the envy to dance.
She will also teach Mei and MK to lose themselves and relax and help them gain self-confidence. The kids get better with her guidance and Wukong and Macaque are obviously grateful for that.
The same way Wukong likes Li Wei's capacity to captivate attention. She's gone through so many situations with the public, it doesn't bother her anymore to be the center of attention. And so one time the crew and Li Wei were in a place with a big crowd, and some people started to recognize Wukong, asking for his attention. The monkey king couldn't help the sweat from rolling his front and Li Wei and Macaque saw it almost immediately. The long-tailed shepherd disappeared some seconds before the spotlight shone bright on the scene and everybody stopped looking at him and redirected to her. It brought enough time for the great sage and rest of the crew to vanish away.
Things she likes about them :
She is endeared by Wukong's shy attitude. Being such important and prideful figure, the myths and stories made her think he would be unbothered by the crowd and play the all mighty in front of everybody. But when she saw his desperate face regarding the scene, she was surprised and found it cute to see; he, in fact, could be uncomfortable like any other being.
She loves their sass and how cheeky they can be. That woman needs mens with humor and derision !! Plus their sarcastic behaviors aren't exactly the same so it's also why she likes it. Macaque is more on the charming, nonserious, desperate side while Wukong is on the aggressive, all mighty, denial side of it.
She likes how warm Wukong is, his body feels like a soft sunset in the afternoon. And as someone who loves taking naps throughout the day, she wouldn't mind having him as her pillows when it's cold.
Also both Macaque and Li Wei love when Wukong starts yapping about his hobbies and hyperfixations of the moment. They like to see him being comfortable enough around them to talk about things he likes. Moments when Wukong starts to speak about a special interest he has and completely forgets to act cool and all mighty. Macaque can't help but get flustered because it reminds him of when they were young demons and Wukong didn't start his godish plans.
Li Wei likes it when she comes back from her day of work at Pigsy's noodles and she sees Macaque sitting down next to her herd, petting Kesari (a golden calf) behind the ears. Seing him at ease with her antelopes, when he litteraly could go anywhere else, really touch her heart and makes her smile.
.... Okaaayy she loves to check them out randomly during the day, but can you blame her ??!! Mean have you seen these monkie mens ?? They are quite pleasant to watch....
As time went by her body and mind started to feel safer and safer by their side. She would unconsciously like to let her guard down with them and let them protect her. She would want to tell some of her secrets and share her past with them. Her heart would love to. Though she never really let it be.
Small part about what the three of them like about each other.
They all have nicknames for the others and like to use them.
They all have their own artistic way to express themselves, and they love the way they feel at ease with each other. Wukong likes to draw and narrate stories, and Li Wei and Macaque learned to make him feel listened and understood. Macaque loves to play with his shadow and his theater kid soul and though in the past people could be afraid of his power and the dark side of it, Wukong and Li Wei aren't. Li Wei needs to dance to feel complete and though Mac and Wukong never felt the need to do so, seeing her enjoying it so much, they started to dance with her just to see her happy. Usually Mac is more of a waltz type and Wukong is more of a laid back type.
Wukong loves being the tough one and lifting them up. Most of the time Macaque is carried bridal style and Li Wei is up on Wukong's shoulders.
Macaque likes to hear both of their heartbeat when they're far away from him. It's his way to be sure they're okay.
Things they don't like about her and she don't like about them :
She didn't trust them with her herd at first, Wukong was known to be one of the strongest beings in Chinese mythology, ready to get what he wanted by any means, and she was scared he would hurt the antelopes. Macaque was described as a violent cannibalistic being in JTTW, so she wasn't relaxed when she first saw him near her calves.
Macaque and Wukong don't like how Li Wei never talks about some aspect of her past life. Parts of her life that apparently impacted her on a massive level, and though they've tried to ask her about it, she never talked about it to them. Which isn't really fair tbh; they've both shared some aspect of their life with her. She read JTTW and knows a lot of stuff about them, and they can't find a way to learn more from her because of her stubbornness.
Macaque doesn't like that she cannot go through his shadow portals because it means he can't teleport her anywhere safe if she's ever in danger.
They don't like and at some point are even hurt the way she always refuses their help when she's physically hurt. She would have been stabbed with a magic spear an hour ago and told them not to bother about it and to take care of the others and themselves before walking away. It makes them think they're useless for her and there's some kind of barriers between them.
They're not really fan the idea of her smoking. Not that they fear for her health, she clearly is not a normal mortal being. However, they're not a fan of smoke and the smell of it. (Plus it kinda stuck on her fur)
They hate how she keeps the secret of her curse from them and won't tell them shit about it. And she also doesn't explain them which god cursed her.
really hate the chains all over her body.
Now I could talk pages and pages what she loves about them, what they love about her, what they all love about each other ?! but the thing happening between the three of them is more complicated than just preferences. With them, Li Wei felt her heart beat differently than with anyone else. A way she only felt once in the past when she was ~2500.
They don't like that there isn't any fur on her arms, and that she doesn't explain why. Most monkey demons are supposed to have fur on their backs to their arms, and it's kinda weird to not see any on hers. Plus the skin around those spots is not completely smooth so it's clearly not something natural.
It's not just a crush, with them she felt fulfilled again, she would smile and laugh differently, wider and wilder, their stupid comments would create tears of laughter in the corner of her eyes. She would melt seeing them thrive, she would feel the need to talk to them about certain things. She finally felt like she wanted to stay with them forever.
Summary of Li Wei's curse cos the last one is 1+years old (there's a sum up at the end)
To talk about it I need to discuss Heaven and how I perceive it. In my version of the book JTTW, it is said celestial hierarchy is a mirror of the Chinese government; "Heaven isn't anything else than all the human bureaucratic system transferred in an empyrean bloc". It's an important thing considering the way I represent it.
The curse Li Wei has is a forbidden one that leads the victim to die obligatorily by the hand of the one that cursed them whenever they want. The one cursed gains chains tied up to the underworld over their body; this way, the person cursed already has their name written down there and is considered partly dead.
The idea behind such curse is to take away the capacity to die of a specific living creature and put it under the control of another person.
Let's imagine you're the one that get cursed ;
Nature and even the Heavens are no longer able to put you down. The one that put the malediction on you is the only one able to decide whenever they want to apply it and kill you.
Specificity of it is the way the curse keeps you from using any type of magic, except for the only magic that works on you is the one owned by the god/creature that cursed you.
It's one of the rare curses that cannot be conjured AT ALL. There's no medication, magical spells, or gods powers that can conjure it. Which is also why Heavens forbid it.
It makes you an unpredictable being, who doesn't have to obey Heaven's rules, no reactions of any sort with magic and cannot be threatened since they can't die
To be clear, the curse creates an anomaly in heaven's great plans, you, the person cursed, doesn't fit in any destiny anymore now that your future only belongs to someone else's choice. And if you ever becomes mad, decides to go nuts against heaven to avenge yourself or because you've lived so many times without dying, Heavens would be have hard time stoping you.
Literally if the you decided to join a war against Heavens, it could literally create an unkillable soldier only directed by rage.
Which is why it's so forbidden to use that malediction.
To prevent such things from happening, Heavens decided to punish any gods/fantastic creatures that ended up using it, taking away their priviledges and sending them in retirement (sometimes they also just get killed).
They also granted the cursed one a wish; they would be able to ask something to Yanluo Wang (one of of the deity of death) and actually go to the underworld as many times as they want. Since a part of them is already kept there, there's not much to fear.
And finally, heavens try to make everyone forget its existence by hiding it. Which explains why so few people know about it. You could meet people doomed with this curse in ancient times, they weren't many but enough to know about the curse.
It started to fade away a thousand years ago before Sun Wukong was born and Li Wei was the last person cursed, known.
She was cursed when she was 204 years old. And since then she has always stayed cautious speaking about that curse, only some close friends of hers are aware of it. She didn't talk much about it to the monkie crew, though at some point she had to tell them she was cursed, she didn't specify what kind of curse she had.
To sum up the curse
Keeps you from using any magic
Creates chains over your body representing the linking you now have with the underworld.
The one that curses you can use them and your body as much as they want.
Besides you can't decide when you're gonna die (unless you have a really good relationship with the person that cursed you)
Endless regeneration for you common body
The curse lets you keep attributes you had before being cursed if it's part of your body and soul. As an example, Li Wei had the ability to extend her tail, have a glamour, and could already transform into a kaiju when she was a cub. Since those are capacities related to her body and not just magic, she managed to keep them even after being doomed
You can ask for a wish to Yanluo Wang and travel to the underworld
It changes your eyes color
Even though you're cursed and have a stronger metabolism you can still get sick.
The person that cursed you cannot completely die either. Now that they're linked to you, they obtain some kind of immortality.

Evolution of Sun Wukong x Macaque x Li Wei relationship
Okay, I got an ask about things Wukong and Macaque would like/dislike in Li Wei, and what she would also like/dislike in them. And before answering it I feel like I need to explain quickly some little events and how they ended up having feelings for each other first, because it wasn't an instant crush type of love.
(all of these happen in a year)
At the beginning none of the three were together. Macaque and Wukong still had a hard time dealing with their feelings, and they clearly felt suspicious of Li Wei. When she first appeared, they were worried she would be a threat sent by another villain to hurt MK and crew.
Then, they spent enough time with her and realised she didn't mean any harm. Now at the beginning of their friendship she had a flirting demeanor with Wukong since, it's true, he wasn't unpleasant to look at and there were so many stories depicting his power; she was intrigued by the Great sage.
Perhaps Macaque clearly disliked it and she noticed it.
It wasn't very hard for her to understand what kind of feelings Macaque had for Wukong, and so she decided to stop her little game. She told him (which surprised the warrior a bit) and advised him to stop waiting for smtg to happen and clearly make a move before he lost his opportunity. She won Macaque esteem with her words.
The three of them became acquaintances, then Waking and Macaque started to appreciate her company. She helped the crew find a cure for Macaque after he ended up with a strange sickness. Then she convinced Macaque to confess to Wukong and the two monkeys ended up together; obviously she was happy for them.
The months passed, adventures and events too. And the three started to get closer and closer. At some point, they clearly felt their feelings for each other and wished to be more than just what they were.
However, Li Wei never let her and their feelings flourish because she knew what was happening was strong, like she hadn't felt in a while and with her curse she didn't want to make them suffer through her. Tho she knew she loved them, tho they knew they loved her, THO they knew she loved them. They couldn't be together because of her curse.
