It's so interesting how Dany haters are constantly oversimplifying the Mirri situation to frame it in a way that makes Dany look worse, by saying things like "Dany burned a slave". As if nothing matters aside from Mirri being a slave, as if Mirri didn't unfairly hurt Dany and her baby after Dany tried to help her with the little power she had, as if the situation is nothing more than "a slave master abusing/killing their slave". As if Dany herself being a bridal slave who was unwittingly targeted by Mirri's revenge didn't matter.

Well, two can play at that game. I can say that Mirri forcibly sterilized a 14 year old child bridal slave and killed her baby. Therefore, Mirri is a child abuser, child killer, and abuser of bridal slaves, and anyone who disagrees with me is clearly ok with abusing child bridal slaves and killing babies.

Nothing I'm about to say is new, all of it has been said before, but has it occurred to people that the situation is more complex than "one was totally in the right and one was totally in the wrong"? Has it occurred to people that Dany and Mirri were both victims of a cruel and unjust society, and that this cruel and unjust society is what pitted them against each other, when otherwise they would have been allies? Has it occurred to people that both Mirri and Dany live in a society where violence is normalized, and that's why both retaliate against the other with violence? Has it occurred to people that demonizing either of them and claiming either of them are evil makes no sense?

Also, funny how when it's Mirri taking revenge, Dany haters are like "she has the right to rise against her masters, doesn't matter who she hurts in the process". But when Dany crucifies slave masters, the exact same people are like "but what if some of those slave masters were secretly abolitionists? How dare Dany just crucify the leaders of Meereen? Evil Dany!". Oh, and let's not forget how the fandom in general likes to talk about how "doing things because of a prophecy is bad and evil", but when Mirri kills Dany's baby because of a prophecy she's a hero. Double standards everywhere.

The hypocrisy is really what gets me. Supporting what Mirri does to Daenerys but not what Daenerys does to the slavers is like supporting time traveling to kill baby Hitler but NOT supporting killing adult known Nazis because “maybe they were just following orders” “maybe they had doubts” “maybe they were nice to the people they helped oppress”. Just a bizarre position clearly based in bias and bad faith.

I also have never seen Daenerys fans go around denying there is any validity and nuance to Mirri’s perspective and actions, it’s pretty obvious why she hates and wants to stop people who go around raping and slaughtering innocent people including her whole community. I don’t know why Dany haters think they’ve discovered some hidden truth there. This feels like one of many arguments in this fandom people endlessly have with no one because they can’t have a thought or opinion without constructing an opposition for it in their mind.
