of all the people to have picked, it had to be him. not that she particularly had anything AGAINST garrick ollivander ( he was merely a familiar face in a sea of strangers ), she had just hoped for someone with a bit more enthusiasm. though usually ariel was the life of the party, it seemed that without alcohol and with an incredible shock to her system — what, with being in hospital for a week — she was rather the opposite. and by finding someone with a similar streak to her old self, she had hoped to find more life in this ball. but alas, she had been the one to strike conversation with garrick, and deep down she knew it would be rude to leave. ❝ if you’re looking for some fun, i’m sure the punch has been spiked already. might make you feel a bit better about being here. ❞
“not EVERYONE needs alcohol to have a good time. —luckily i am not one of those people.” he teased half-heartedly, lifting the cup to his lips. ariel had not been the first person on his mind when garrick wished in his mind for someone to talk to. she, from his viewpoint, was the life of the party.. and being someone who did not like parties, the two just weren’t going to click. “it’s not that bad, i am just not good with crowds. it seems like the whole student body is in attendance.” he shuffled his feet against the hardwood floor, kicking around a small dust bunny. social situations were not his strong suit. “how is the ball going for you?”
