This is less of an art request or suggestion, and more of a normal ask about troll Jiim !! What do you like about troll Jim ? I Like asking this question to different people because I think it’s interesting to see what others think about the character concept, what could have been AND their own ideas and headcannons about him and the like
For example, I really loved how Jim becoming a troll was not only part of Jim's character arc but also kind of a culmination of said character arc and growth !! Because throughout the story he does some big reckless acts to save or protect people he loves. But he also struggles a lot with the heavy burden that comes with wielding the amulet
And using merlin’s potion it’s kinda of an example of both things !! The act of turning into a troll was a very big thing where he had to sacrifice a big part of who he was in order to be able to protect everyone he held dear (though Merlin did put a lot of pressure on Jim). It was this big reckless thing that supposedly was going to affect who he was and his future forever. But he did it to save everyone, despite their protests
He does it, and things seem fine for a little while …… Till it’s too much and he gets overwhelmed by the things he has lost and the things that have changed. But then everyone comes to help him, not to defeat the big bad of the series (that comes later) but to support and help him realize that he’s not alone in this, that he doesn’t have to do it alone, and I think that’s beautiful. The magnificent son scene is also so comforting and heartfelt
Though my favorite ones gotta be when Arrrgh realizes that Jim is a troll ….. Like Him !! It’s such a joy to behold, especially the bit where they play-wrestle. I also really like the tree parkour scene
So much so that I based my personal headcannons on it !! Like, before the whole trollhunter thing, he seemed to have a bit of a thrill seeking streak based on the canal-shortcut scene where he practically flies with his bike, and even before he started training he seemed fairly athletic by climbing the rope all the way up in gym class (I never had to do this in gym class but it seems like a fairly good accomplishment)
So my headcannon is that being a troll amplifies that and he becomes a bit of an adrenaline junkie ….. like asking Toby to temporarily put a gravity curse on him, to get heavier and make climbing up walls be more challenging when he gets bored. Plus that he and Arrrgh play-wrestle a lot and cause quite a bit of mayhem while doing it, but hardly anyone has the heart to tell them to stop on account on how much fun they’re having, particularly Blinky

troll Jim could of done so much more if he only had time, they should of never turned him back into a human as it basically threw all internal struggle then growth down the drain
{ also that when he turned back into OG jim he kinda looked like a baby due to them not really changing the models that much, BRO WAS 17-18 GIVE HIM A GROWTH SPURT OR SOMETHING}
Most of my headcanons for troll Jim are mostly physical changes that are influenced by my oc but Shhhhhh
I imagine him having feline type traits, like the side burns mimicking the face fluff that tigers and other big cats have and fur going down his neck to shoulder blades similar to what king cheetahs have.
Of course his ears will move similar to dogs and cats, it’s too fun to draw them like this.
The doodle I did has traits from his big troll from like the horns…. Yeah just his horns but I do think he’d get the crystals when he’s like in his early to mid twenties.
i also believe if we were to see an adult troll Jim I’d say he’d be closer to Angor Rots build then what we saw in wizards due to agility he shown through out the shows rather then brute strength.
