Pride flags for guys: is that mlm or gay?
Another flag-related post because this is another little thing that irks me. I keep seeing people use the gay man flag as a general mlm pride flag- which is obviously incorrect. There are plenty of general mlm flags as it is, and gay men should be able to have a flag of their own and have it recognized as such.
For reference, this is the gay male pride flag, for guys exclusively attracted to other guys:
Note the more teal stripes on top and more true blue stripes on the bottom.
Then there's a general mlm flag made by @pride-and-pokemon, which looks like this and can be used by any guy attracted to guys (regardless of if that's exclusively or not):
Note that the blue stripes are on the top and there are green stripes on the bottom, and there aren't teal hues anywhere.
These are two different flags with two different meanings. They're not interchangeable.
These aren't the only versions of gay and mlm flags out there, but they're some of the most widely-used ones on this site. The gay man flag shown above is the only flag for gay men that I've seen catch on widely, and that's barring times it's misattributed as an mlm pride flag.
There do seem to be more mlm flag designs in regular use too, which in addition to the second flag above tends to be one of these:
(The mlm pride flag made by @mlmtrans)
(The achillean [sometimes referred to as vincian] pride flag- this is the version with a more simplistic carnation in the middle)
There are many options when it comes to using general mlm pride flags. Let's let gay men have their own flag for themselves, okay?

A lot of men have stretch marks. Youβre still handsome. Please donβt forget that.
When will I receive passionate, homoerotic love letters, written by candlelight and sealed with wax?
