Snowpiercer hivemind what are some of the best lines from the show? I know we have a tendency to go for the funny ones but im thinking thematic or hard hitting ones that stuck with you?
Like for me it's "we all know how this ends"
"The freeze taught us all we have the capacity to kill" from Lilah Folger in s1e2 made me do a double/triple/quadruple take. Did it now, Lilah? Actually, yeah, I bet it did! Please tell me more?!?
Also the classic "It's her lips to God's ear, isn't it?" from the same episode was great. She knows. Right? Probably? She must do. But she's not clarifying either way, because she's a good strategist (in s1, at least).
And Melanie telling Alex "That's his cruelty, not yours" was great - some actual decent parenting, and also very telling about all her own justifications for her violence.
For me its always been Till's monologue at the start of 2x9 (I think?)
"I thought I'd be used to death by now. What's 8 lives against the 7 billion we lost in the Freeze? But its different this way. This isn't the cold. This is us. People. Wasting each other to violence. And we can't stop. It's our answer for everything. We get lost in it. I got lost in it. But now... all I want is for it to stop. I want just one night where I close my eyes and I'm not afraid of what's on the other side. One night where I don't feel so alone..."
Its heartbreaking because it touches on something that we as an audience probably hadn't thought about yet. That there is an emotional difference between people dying due to negligence (and shit science) and direct murder. Plus it shows how much she cared about the people who died and that she felt responsible for their deaths because she didnt protect them.
reblog if you wear glasses. too many mutuals don't know they have glasses wearers in their midsts
Discussing Ruth and Audrey's mutual dislike of each other this morning, with resident Ruth expert @ruthiesrambles2, and I noticed something very obvious that, somehow, neither of us had ever realised before:
Ruth's relationship to Wilford involves serving him food, washing his bed sheets etc. - her character fulfils the "mother" role/trope/[I don't know the right terms because I've never studied literature or film] for him (or, at least, that's how their relationship began, and she certainly wants to continue providing for him in this way until late in s2).
Audrey's relationship to Wilford is, obviously, the classic "whore" role/whatever, less explanation needed.
Idk, someone who knows more about this kind of device needs to chip in. But this is a fun new angle from which to explicitly consider Ruth's animosity towards Audrey.
I havent fully formed my thoughts on this yet so bare with me.
It seems as well like Ruth doesn't like the fact that Audrey (as of the start of s1) has basically moved on from Wilford and made his creation into something of her own.
I think this works on two levels. 1) going off the whole Ruth mother thing, she sees it as basically a gold digging mistress taking Wilford's money and then leaving him/forgetting about him. 2) Disregard of that, Audrey distanced herself completely from Wilford and started to slowly heal from her trauma, seeing him for who he was, but Ruth isnt there yet and doesn't yet see his coercive control, kinda like how Kevin was to Ruth in S2 and S3.
Do people like fantasy Caitlyn here?
Rovickies and Ronances fighting as if polyamory doesn't exist
Sometimes, around Christmas, I remember that Helen Sinclair travelled alone for 40 years in the TARDIS with the expectation of dying at the end of it, to save Liv and get to see her one last time.
Like literally. She did that.
anyway the hardest part about not believing in canon season 7 of once upon a time is that i really do believe regina would wear a band tee/tank top at some point and i am so upset that the one time she did was then
Roni was the bisexual rocker chick (i hate that word but no better one fit) that we all knew Regina was. I gotta love that in s7 after she "wakes up" she still wears the same clothes and doesn't go back to the ones she used to wear indicating that she did actually like them.
Ive watched s7 a bunch of times because I love MadArcher (Alice x Robin) and s7 Regina was the version of her we all wanted to be who she was at home in a way. If Emma was also cursed in s7 her and Roni would've fucked, like they just would have.
Btw i understand why ppl dont like s7, and I kinda dont either. I just have to split off half my brain when watching it so it's like fanfic of a universe im already familiar with rather than canon, it's weird.
Anyway, there is no way Roni was straight. Like you said, those outfits!! Also there are some swanqueen fics set around that time that are good if you dont mind the vauge s7 plot in the periphery.
what do you guys think each family member’s favorite movie is?
Ngl, I dont watch a ton of films so my guesses are gonna be based on films I've watched/know about more than what is probably most accurate, but hopefully the vibes still fit.
Henry: Going off of my dnd ouat post and Henry being a lore bard, I bet he's really into the classics, but also the philosophical. Contrary to what he liked in his pre-teens, he loves film versions of plays (Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet etc). Because of this I think his favourite film would be No Exit, a play written by Sartre (a French philosopher). Its a great film that goes into death and how "hell is other people" to quote the play.
Regina: Remains of the Day. She is a romantic at heart and loves it in ways she's embarrassed about.
Emma: Bound. That's it, no other comments.
Snow: Most musicals. Some she refuses to watch (such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Rocky Horror), but generally if it's got people singing in it, she will watch it.
David: Not to be anti-David, but to me he is a basic bitch (I made him a human champion fighter, the most basic, basic bitch okay!) so his favourite film is one of the Men in Black films. That's not to say that they are shit films, but they are stereotypical male shoot and kill aliens type films.
Zelena: She doesn't watch films often, preferring to read, but *hates* film adaptations of books with a burning passion. Would rather watch a few episodes of House MD, because House hates people as much as she does. Can't currently think of a favourite film for her so am open to suggestions.
Ruby: Hates werewolf films. Especially ones that perpetuate the alpha myth, because werewolf packs (like wolf packs) run like families with the parents leading. Likes a lot of "chic flicks" thanks to the first curse and her favourite is The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. After the curse she has more refined taste, that I cant pin down/figure out.
Belle: Only watches films based on books, and only if they're good adaptations. Like Henry she also enjoys film adaptations of plays. Im not sure, but her favourite is probably Dickens or Arthur Conan Doyal (Sherlock).
Emma (cont.): On a serious note, I think her favourite film would be something really gay, something surprisingly feminine, or a film thats her favourite for sentimental reasons rather than the content of the film itself. For the first option, anything from Bound to But Im a Cheerleader works. For the second Im thinking Devil wears Prada because Emma is gay for authoritative women. And for the last Im thinking one of the classic Star Wars films.
I have excluded characters that I either dont like or dont care enough to do/remember them.
and if one of my mutuals thinks some random character i’ve never heard of is gay well then they’re right
rb to give the previous person a fucking break because life aint life-ing the way its supposed to life and it fucking sucks.
rewatching Emma's season one dynamic with Ruby has me pining for a parent trap hijinx arc.
Henry enlists Ruby to help him scheme to get his moms together, and Ruby? She is figuring some stuff out, and she does not think it would hurt to see the scariest woman in town kiss the woman who jumpstarted her bi awakening
Take what you need and pass it on:

An encouragement: “You’ve got this!”
A nap
A high five

Somewhere aboard the TARDIS, there’s a book that every companion has added to over time. It filled with the tips, tricks, and little secrets you need to travel with the Doctor. If the TARDIS likes you enough it may just appear in your room.
It contains helpful guides such as:
- how to get alien slime (and various other substances out of your hair)
- how to check foods are not only edible but taste nice (don’t trust the doctor)
- the top 10 items you should always have on your person
- good lies to tell when caught somewhere your not supposed to be
- how to sleep in a jail cell 101
i enjoy that every single human’s reaction to penguin is unrestrained delight
And penguins lack large terrestrial predators, so their reaction to humans tends to be, “HELLO STRANGE GIANT PENGUINS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? DO YOU HAVE ANY FISH?”
I will reblog this on my deathbed.
Please let him science 🐧
i think at least half of the million reblabs on this are from me
Feel like the doctor who writers really brushed over the fact that Amy, Rory and River were childhood best friends. I want scenes of Amy and Rory giving River all the gossip about the people they used to go to school with and the Doctor getting really into it despite having no idea who these people are
