I started with the various Xena sites, then found Pink Rabbit (brilliant site), and after that the Paradoxical FF Archive, which led me to Yahoo groups from which time P&P was born.

it makes me oddly happy to see this post occasionally pop up in my notes. (and dear lord i forgot about xena/the geocities when I posted this… i was so young then and still oh sooo gay!)

Oh MAN. THIS is Femslash Fandom history. And in case anyone didn’t know @pinkrabbitpro is also on Tumblr (you should totally follow her, by the way. She’s as sweet as she is talented). Btw, if any of you feel like heading into a Sam/Janet SG1 spiral, you REALLY need to check out PRP’s Fics. I remember discovering each of those sites. They were just…a total revelation. Yahoo groups and individual fandom archives were great, but they introduced you to SO many more. (I found the Academy a little later because holy shit, Uber fic!) If I could hug a post, this would be one of them. So many hours spent on all of these sites. [happy sigh]

This post makes me so happy - I know all of the sites, and spent so much time reading fanfic than was significantly better, and more creative that most anything published, for years (and still feel that way). I still pop onto P&P, The Academy, and a couple others on a regular basis.

And @ralst‘s Shore Leave remains one of my go to, all time favs :)

wow… I used to go around those sites too! I was so happy to see @pinkrabbitpro and immediately followed because I remember the website. Reading through Fuffy and Xena fanfiction gave me life and helped give me an outlet to realize who I was, even though I was afraid to take that step forward and embracing how I identify.

Aw, sweet, thanks for the mentions. Yup, I’m still around (like the proverbial bad penny, I pop up, disappear for a bit, then pop up again). Makes me smile to see some of this stuff mentioned, but damn I feel old as I go back to secret mailing lists and alt.tv.xena…well, actually, back to zines, but no femslash there. Thank you Xena. You brought femslash and I both out of the closet. :)
