would just like to remind people that manon and aelin would have been a hell of a way to end the series

People always say that Elide is like Feyre, they both come from nothing, have had to learn in such a hard way, and have built up walls nearly impossible to crack, which may be true, but I prefer to think Elide is like Aelin. Strong, maybe not as physically, but definitely mentally, and brave, always willing to do their part for the greater good, amongst uncountable others. In ToG7, I want to see Elide be a warrior and strong and a leader, and how she would have lived her life, had she not faced the obstacles that limited her personal growth.

nah i'm so tired of all these overrated "sarah jane" characters being hyped up in YA, when there are so many beautifully written POC characters and characters with disabilities and lgbt+ characters out there that are so much better than these white brave female protagonist who have to save the world that y'all seem to love so much. (i don't just mean TFIOS and Eleanor and Park, both written by white abled authors.) please expand your reading to people you might not identify with, and maybe not just the most mainstream books in YA.

IMO, sjm is a bad writer in terms of coming up w/ characters. Her female leads are obviously what she’d like herself to be portrayed as in writing, but every male is essentially the same, strong or rich, and kinda a bad boy. Also she writes of one lgbt couple, in one of eight published books, and kills of virtually all poc characters. I get writing from experience and yeah, maybe she has no experience as a poc or lgbt, but writers imagine, and I severely doubt her incredible imagination filled with literal made up worlds can’t imagine how a girl would feel about another girl, or how maybe a white person could die heroically every now and then.

Honestly I see Celaena and Aelin as two different characters. I see a difference between the assassin and the queen, I see a rebirth and a change between a selfish and hating teen, and the leader, the strong and caring adult. Celaena shows the shut off, not a care beyond herself person, and then through Nehemia, and her other friends, and Aelin shows the matured queen that her experiences have bettered her to become.

Honestly if we ever get a visual representation of the acotar series, during Feyre's first time seeing Velaris, it would be lovely to see something like the Tangled scene where Rapnunzel and Flynn are surrounded by the lanterns. Rhys rushing around and showing her the town and then realising the sun has set and all the fishermen are coming back to shore with their boats lit up like stars on the sea, and Rhys and Feyre standing on the dock next to each other.

Me: Manon and Aelin are better as friends than lovers, they'd be too deadly together and would literally obliterate each other and everyone around.

Also me: but they'd be so COOL

I know Queen of Shadows is going to be nothing like the books, so I want a twisted and dark show, I want them to take all of the happiness and light out of Celaena and show the terrifying assassin, who has no reason to trust anyone, so she doesn't. And then along comes Nehemia, good, sweet, loving Nehemia, who leads Celaena into the light and into becoming Aelin. I want to see a change in her, not just bc she controls more people, because she changes because of her friends because she learns to trust people that trust her, because the books don't show the Celaena that is terrified of what happened in Endovier. Sure, she suffers from nightmares and withdrawal from people, and yes, Celaena is not normal, but I want to see the pain and the terror Celaena gets when she thinks of Endovier, and I want that to diminish as she becomes Aelin. I want it to be a part of her, and I want Aelin to claim it as so.
