Hello!! My name is Ray! This is a blog for Fairy Tail content, primarily Gray Fullbuster and Natsu Dragneel. Expect a lot of Lucy as well because she is truly the people’s princess.

I however will not be taking any headcannons about Juvia Lockser. I will be posting and reposting some analyses about her in relation to Gray as a character- but she is a stalker and an abuser. Making that stance really clear really quick. I will not engage, I will just delete your comments and block you.

Duos I wish we got to see more of in Fairy Tail!

Laxus and Gray:

They’re both really similar in a lot of ways, and I think it’d be interesting to see how their magic would be used together

Bickslow and Natsu:

Honestly I just want this one for fun. They’d make it everyone else’s problem

Mirajane and Lucy:

They have a really sweet dynamic, I think it’d be cool to see them side by side in a battle scenario

Gajeel and Gray:

this has been on my mind ever since they interacted in Tartaros right after Gray got his devil slayer magic

Levy and Fried:

We see them interacting a bit on Tenrou, and we know their magic works incredibly well together

Natsu and Jellal:

I know we get a fair amount of Natsu and Jellal, but I think it’d be interesting for who they are as people

Yukino and Mirajane:

We got to see them during the Dragon King Festival and their dynamic is really personal to me. A younger sister who lost her older sister, and an older sister who lost her younger sister. They’re really sweet and I want to see more

Alzak and Bisca:

For being the first two in the guild to get married and have a baby, we don’t really get to see much of them. Which is a shame, they’re absolutely delightful

Cana and Guildarts:

Canas whole motivation for becoming an S-Class wizard was so she’d feel accomplished enough to tell Guildarts that he’s her father. Then it’s a running gag that Cana wants no relationship with him? Seems antithetical. The moments we do have with them are very sweet

Zeref and Natsu

For being foundational to Fairy Tails narrative, we only meet Zeref half way through the series? Even then we don’t really get an elaboration on him until Tartaros. I want to see more, because I like what we have

This is a really stupid headcanon that I’m incorporating into my Fairy Tail world view- Lyon Vastia is homophobic and transphobic. That’s why Lyon talks down Grays abilities as a wizard despite Gray being generally much more talented. It’s because he still sees Gray as a woman despite the fact he’s been Gray Fullbuster for as long as he’s known him

Natsu Dragneel Headcanons

Natsu is Gay- genuinely look at Natsu and find me a spot where he actually likes women

Natsu is some kind of non binary- but he was raised by a dragon and doesn’t really know what gender is. He refuses to learn.

I’ve never seen a more AuDHD boy in my life

Unlike Gray, he never really learned how to mask it and doesn’t care to

He’s better at coping with his sensory issues, but bad smells and loud noises really fuck with him

Natsu is chronically underestimated, and is always doing the most to regulate himself

He has boundless energy and needs to be walked. Like he needs someone to go and watch him while he kinda just runs around to make sure he doesn’t set a forest on fire

He has EDS- this boy is always scrambling about in several ways

He hoards shit like a dragon! He’s got too many trinkets in his and Happy’s house, I mean absolutely everywhere. The living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, his room. He finds something mildly interesting and it is going home with him

He eats Gray's cigarettes to piss him off- it’s technically fire so it counts. It’s not gonna hurt him, and it gets Gray to gradually stop smoking

This boy has a canonically crazy alcohol tolerance, but he doesn’t really like the taste of most liquor so he doesn’t drink

Natsu really likes music, but he listens to the loudest, most abhorrent(/pos) noise possible. Industrial, breakcore. It helps regulate himself

Natsu has more social awareness than people think. When he’s being stupid, he’s doing it on purpose to lighten the mood and make his friends smile

He’s a lover boy. Any time someone thinks Natsu doesn’t know anything about romance and angel gets shot and dies

He really sees Gildarts as a father figure- or at least uncle figure

He’s very cuddly with any of his friends. He’s kinda like a big dog who thinks it’s a lap dog

Natsu doesn’t realize his own strength in mundane situations

Getting heated about Grays treatment in Fairy Tail again hours!!!!

Oughhhh Mashima fuck you fuck you fuck you. You literally did one of the most terrifying things to me specifically- you took away Grays agency in the face of his death and gave it to his abuser. Literally took away every bit of agency he had left!! OHHHHHH FUCK YOU DUDE

That genuinely scares me on such a visceral level. Ooooooh my god. “Hi, I’ve stalked, harassed, and assaulted you several times over the years we’ve known each other. I made you comfort me for being too overbearing on the day your pseudo mother died. And because you’re survivors guilt McGee, I’ve decided im gonna kill myself in front of you and make you be responsible for my death! But oh no!! The guy who’s tried offing himself ten times within the past couple years is now also attempting to off himself!! I’m literally going to turn my body into blood because you need to live with a part of me inside you forever, and you’re not allowed to die because my blood isn’t just on your hands: it’s inside you. Hi my name is Juvia Lockser and I suck.”

It’s just so terrifying to me. Having his agency taken from him to the point he’s not even allowed to make his own decision to die. That’s horrific.

Alright! I’m pissed off again!!

I wanna make it clear that I do not read 100YQ for several reasons. However, the main reason is the way Mashima completely 180’d Grays character to make him in love with Juvia.

But I want to talk about these panels and how cruel they are.

Obviously these are reminiscent of when Juvia sacrificed herself for Gray during Alverez. I’ve spoken in a previous post about how terrifying that situation is for Gray, but I’ll bullet point it:

Gray is a character that has immense survivors guilt, and above all else, does not want anyone else to die for him.

Gray, in his mind, has lost nearly everyone important in his life because of him- His parents, Ur, Ultear, he almost killed Natsu, Erza almost died in the tower of heaven, and Lucy during the grand magic games.

Gray is self-loathing to a fault. He doesn’t believe he’s worth being cared for- much less worth dying for. He’s so willing to use iced shell not because he thinks there’s no other option, but because Gray is suicidal.

Juvia took away Grays agency in the face of his death on purpose. She intentionally killed herself to prey on Grays survivors guilt by telling Grays her life belongs to him. She made Gray responsible for her life. She then proceeded to turn herself into blood to ensure that Gray would be unable to die. (And he says the haunting line “my blood doesn’t feel like my own.” That’s horrific, and also means that in the canon he could physically feel Juvia inside him.)

After this is when we see Gray do a complete 180 when it comes to Juvia, because now he feels indebted to her because she died for him.

Now Gray is reliving this situation again. And Gray, like many victims of abuse, convinces himself he’s in love with Juvia so he can imagine he gave his consent. Anyone who’s had someone threaten harming themselves if you didn’t stay with them knows the guilt you feel. The only time in the main story we see Gray say he loves Juvia in any way is when she killed herself for him. Gray is not acting out of love- he’s acting out of guilt. And it happens again! Gray only says that he “Never noticed that he loves her this much” because her life is in danger. He doesn’t love her, but he believes that he has to.

The fact Hiro Mashima wrote Gray as an accurate depiction of abuse on complete accident will never fail to piss me off.

Gray Fullbuster Headcanons

Gray is generally queer, but isn’t attracted to women. He prefers to keep himself unlabeled because he doesn’t really think about it too much

He’s trans! He’s somewhat on the non binary spectrum, but isn’t really picky

Gray is one hundred percent autistic, he’s just got masking down to a science

He has a lot of sensory issues, but tends to ignore them cause if he doesn’t acknowledge them he thinks they’ll go away

This gets infinitely worse for him once he becomes a demon slayer

Speaking of which- I imagine that becoming a demon slayer was actually pretty painful for Gray. Slayers have incredibly heightened senses, but the rest of the Slayers have been taught how to cope with them since childhood. Gray was thrown into it as an adult.

Gray has chronic muscle and bone pain and uses Natsu as a living heating pad

Gray has impaired lungs due to him being crushed by debris when Deliora attacked his village

He also ignores this- he ignores a lot of the things that are wrong with him because he doesn’t want to acknowledge that he’s disabled in any way

Gray has a mean resting bitch face that he’s insecure about. He’s not trying to be scary- it’s not his fault people think he’s pissed off all the time

Gray isn’t very close with many of the guild members who aren’t his immediate friends, Loke is really the only exceptions to that

However- he one hundred percent has a friendship with Laxus. They’re bros but quietly

He speaks with a slight accent, having grown up in Isvan instead of Fiore

It really comes out when he’s pissed off or tired

Gray is the older brother supreme. He’s Wendy’s older brother, he’s Romeo’s older brother, he’s Asuka's older brother, ect.

He knows how to cook. He’s not jaw dropping, but he makes things that are good

He lives in a house instead of the male dorms because he likes his privacy

He used to dance, before his village was destroyed by Deliora

He really likes music! I’d imagine he has a lacrima speaker at his house

When it comes to subcultures in a modern AU, I don’t think he’s emo. He’s scene

He is an absolute shit who loves causing problems on purpose- he is not the rational one of team kickass when it comes to being annoying

This boy does not hold back his love for his friends- anyone who thinks he’s edgy or cagey around them doesn’t have eyes

I know we love “black cat edgy” characters… but Gray Fullbuster is a bunny. Anyone who is aware of how bunnies actually act know they’re assholish divas
