It's like. you don't get your own childhood. not "didn't get the childhood you wanted," it's "didn't get a childhood that was yours." and you're supposed to be normal about it. and people tell you Oh you didn't miss much it was bad and awful for xyz reasons you really don't Actually want to be raised as a girl. well, what if I was a girl anyway and everyone acted like I wasn't. called me a name that wasn't mine. told me I was a person I wasn't until I believed it and clung to that fake person until I saw it was cutting into my hands. it wasn't mine. that child wasn't me; wasn't allowed to be me; wasn't even allowed to know there was a me. what if, on a very real level, my childhood was not mine? what if I wanted a childhood where I was actually seen, even if it hurts? and I'm supposed to be normal about it
these are getting weird
very funny bit happening in the replies
I was confused you see.
Kinda random that somehow only trans people become Spider totems
It is somewhat remarkable how much can change in a few years: Motoko is not just an EXPLICIT lesbian in the new Ghost in the Shell adaptation, but also a BOTTOM.
They really took EXTRA EFFORT to make this scene SIGNIFICANTLY MORE lesbian as compared to the 2 pages (or rather, 3-4 panels) it had in the original manga:
Imagine having THAT depicted in an anime 20 years ago that would have been - rightfully - presumed to be the iconic flagship show of the entire season, and that purely on the whim of the studio direction without being able to hide behind the source material.
Science Saru really said "I know artists who use subtext and they are all cowards" and proceeded to devote almost two whole minutes of the episode to making sure everyone knows just how much of a lesbian Motoko is. Quite a difference to the intentionally strong asexual depiction in the 90s movie.
Acting like society has at all addressed or even contemplated transmisogyny for even a moment is a fucking joke.
Just continuing the hate train on this poor girl, which if she was talking about how misogynistic classic horror movies are against cissexual women, everyone would be lauding her for having the guts to stand up and say something.
“I’m not trying to be mean” No, but you are being transmisogynistic. Because she (op) *is* right, these conversations are not had outside of transfem spaces, and trans women everywhere have to sit in silence while y’all praise sotl, rhps, whatever the fuck. You know for a fact you are not discussing how these classic horror films harm trans women. For fucks sake, you probably don’t even know what transmisogyny is.
No one outside of trans women is ready to have a conversation about transmisogyny.
Trans women were born women, I hope this helps 👍🏾
Spider-Man isn't miserable because of "the Parker luck", Spidey is miserable because she hasn't transitioned yet.
"No you're dont understand, bad things keep happening to Spidey"
Thats just how the universe treats trans women

I just think Felicia would be really excited if her Spider transitioned and became even more subby, I think she'd be a fan of that.
"Stealing finding jewelry for my hot trans wife to wear bc she's been deprived her whole life"
@injectparkerwithestrogentoday just interracted with like a dozen of my spider-man posts and now I have transfem spidey brainrot.
xena gave us trans drag lesbianism as a treat
There are layers to this. Earlier in the episode, Xena discovers her secret while they're sharing a locker room. A woman she has got naked with turned out to be trans. It's the exact scenario terfs are always fear-mongering about, but Xena just shrugs it off.
Also, the kiss was a big deal not just because it was gay but because the trans actress was HIV positive. They wanted to show the world that you can't contract HIV just from kissing someone. Bear in mind, the AIDS crisis was still fresh on people's minds in the 90s.
Happy Pride.
I understand that people do this because it's easier to write but I honestly think we need to stop saying "amab" and "afab" and start writing them out in full more often. better yet, bring back the c. "coercively assigned male at birth" and "coercively assigned female at birth". people have gotten way too comfortable latching onto the m or f and using them as shorthand for "male" and "female" even though the point of these terms has always been to highlight that sex is something that you are assigned at birth and coerced into performing. it's not a neutral observation about a baby's genitalia, it's an active assignment that is forced upon you against your will the moment you're born, before you're even capable of understanding the words being used to make that assignment
now we just need miyazaki's egg to crack and I'll be complete
I could write off gwyndolin as simple fetishization of transfemininity but I feel like miquella kind of recontextualizes her. I'm sorry but I just do not buy that some random cis dude is this interested in including transfeminine gods as centrally important characters in his work
putting everyone in time out until they can stop responding to increasingly transmisogynistic public bathroom laws with "and this is extra bad because it will impact cis women who don't fit traditional standards of femininity too!!"
people making posts about how it's ok to be monogamous are so annoying.
what next, you gonna tell me it's ok to be straight?? to be cis???? thank god you let me know.
grow the fuck up.
it really is the normalise loving parents posting but they always throw in a dig at polyamoury somewhere as well.
I'm so sorry the way you like to have relationships is legally and violently enforced by the state, that must be real hard for you.
