Happy Sunday! Here’s a piece I made for Easter Sunday 2024! 😅🤍 I wanted to use the prompt “dawn” from this background challenge I had going at the time, in conjunction with the significance of today to bring this piece to life.—And what better than to call to mind the morning in which Christ’s tomb was found empty!
The reference I used for the location/cross is based off an actual place in my hometown. Above the city stands a simple wooden cross, held up only by a pile of stones amongst the desert sand. It’s a powerful reminder that we wouldn’t have the joy Easter Sunday brings without the cross.
The cross itself was the ultimate symbol of death and despair when Jesus died three days prior, but it suddenly shifted into a symbol of triumph. Without Jesus’ sacrifice, none of us as humans would have hope for freedom from sin and death. It’s a sobering thought, but because of the resurrection we now have the hope of new life in Christ if we call upon Him and repent of our sins! Because of this, The cross is the ultimate symbol of redemption. 🤍✝️
It’s beautifully summed up in the all too famous passage in John 3:16-17: ”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.“ if you do not know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, call to Him! Go to the cross tonight. He’s waiting for you. 🤍
