it's one of those rare times where he's traveling just to travel ; there is no job that needs to be done, and his time away from sakura at the moment, per her insistence, should be spent living life to the fullest. sasuke has no idea what that's supposed to look like.

oh   ,   he   actually   wants   to   go   into   it.   pucca   lets   the   high-energy   dissolve   into   something   calmer   and   gentler   ,   head   tilted   as   she   watches   the   visitor's   face.   she   wants   him   to   know   she's   taking   him   SERIOUSLY   ,   that   she's   not   just   spitting   out   preconceived   positivity   developed   from   a   soft   life.   she's   listening   to   him.   she's   thought   about   this.   and   no   ,   maybe   she   hasn't   come   to   universal   solutions   for   everyone   ,   but   it   works   for   her. 

she   comes   from   a   long   line   of   ninja.   good   ninja   ,   too   ,   not   unfortunate   cannon   fodder.   loving   people   who   have   checkered   pasts   is   engrained   in   her   dna.   she   doesn't   ask   her   uncles   what   they've   done.   she   never   asks   her   friends.   maybe   she   doesn't   come   from   a   clan   or   a   highly   decorated   family   ,   but   her   own   have   always   been   able   to   protect   themselves   and   those   they   care   about.   those   choices   aren't   always   easy   to   make.   those   choices   don't   save   EVERYONE.   and   it   isn't   always   a   person's   fault   that   they   were   forced   into   positions   that   made   those   choices   possible. 

“   did   you   do   those   things   because   you   wanted   to   hurt   innocent   people   or   because   you   were   hurting   ?   ”   pucca   doesn't   expect   an   answer.   she   doesn't   even   know   what   he's   DONE.   there's   no   doubt   in   her   mind   that   there   is   evil   in   his   past.   ninja   do   terrible   things.   even   when   they   haven't   gone   rogue.   “   would   you   do   them   again   now   ,   with   everything   you've   learned   ?   ” 

it's   okay   if   he   doesn't   know.   figuring   it   out   is   part   of   the   process.   sometimes   she   catches   her   uncles   crying   when   they   think   of   what   they've   done.   they   think   she   isn't   watching.   that   she   doesn't   NOTICE.   like   they   haven't   spent   their   entire   lives   teaching   her   to   pay   attention.   the   kind   of   trauma   that   comes   with   being   shinobi   probably   never   goes   away.
