Name Standardizations

We've received quite a lot of asks requesting an update regarding the name and label standardizations until an official translation can come out, so here's where we're at:

Supernatural Disaster Management Bureau / SDMB - Hyunmu / Hyunmoo Team - Baekho Team - Jujak Team - Cheongryong Team (lost in Sekwang City)

The wiki will henceforth not be using the term "Agency" to describe the SDMB as they are an office under the Ministry Of Environment. We will not be going with English names for the internal departments.

Daydream Inc. / Daydream Corp. / Daydream - Field Exploration Team - Section Chief - Assistant Manager - Supervisor - Employee (Regular) - Security Team - Hazard Response Team - R&D Team / Research Team / Research & Development

To be completely fair this has almost no chance of becoming canon either way. It's the name of a company, "Baekilmong Co. Ltd.," and company names don't change no matter what language is spoken. However due to the combination of MTL and unofficial translations, this term has been cemented in the minds of most English-speaking readers and hence will remain in the wiki until an official translation.

Sekwang Special City - Sekwang Technical High School

A "special city" in South Korea is an administrative division with the same power as a province. In real life the status of special city only lies with the capital, Seoul.

Will be swapping out the "Industrial" portion for it in this school's name to make sense context-wise. As for the "Segwang" and "Sekwang" naming difference, we've seen the latter used more.

Moving onto characters, final standardizations are:

Braun

Go Yeongeun (excluding her character page, will be dealt later)

Kwak Jekang

And that's it. If anyone comes across a different naming convention, kindly alter it to fit the standardizations given above. Thank you!

New Namespace

For all things related to the fandom (i.e. meta and irl stuff) that are not presented on the wiki as part of the canon information of the novel, we now have a "Fanlore:" namespace~!

What's a namespace you ask?

Well, a namespace is a predefined keyword used to sort and place relations on a page. For example you have the "File:" namespace, which sorts through all files that have been uploaded on the wiki.

Only two pages exist as of now in that space, with:

Fanlore:Serialization and;

Fanlore: Controversies & Other Drama.

One detailing the serialization status of the webnovel and the webtoon and the other going into depth about the controversial events of the "Darkness Exploration Records: The Record of Survivors" pop up.

Feel free to add your own details (if researched) or an event as another heading. Please do not add an event by causing drama.

Would you consider changing Agency to Bureau on the wiki?

In english, Bureau (and in korean, -국) is used for sub-departments inside a larger ministry (like the DMB is for the Ministry of Environment).

Agency is a term for an independent government body.

And thank you so much for creating this wiki! It helps the whole fandom! :D

While I was in fact planning to make such a change, based on those points above actually, there are a lot of links that are already threaded into multiple pages and doing a mass regex edit would probably break most of those. We would need a lot of active editors to manage such broken links, and unfortunately, we're lacking in those numbers.

However, the main page for the SDMB has been moved to the link under the "Bureau" title rather than the "Agency" one due to this request, where it will remain so. If anyone would like to help out by manually altering the name wherever they find it, it'd be much appreciated!

The naming templates have also been updated.

Hi!!

I was just checking out the wiki, and it seems like the link to the DMB in the characters section is broken. Is there a page for the DMB in the wiki? If so, could I fix this on my own even without knowing CSS or wiki coding? Unfortunately, the only scripts I know are Java and python lol

Yes that's easily fixable, you just have to change the link to the correct page instead, there's a button for it on the bar above.

The page for the DMB is named as "Supernatural Disaster Management Agency" and not "Bureau" so I understand where the broken links may pop up from. I've fixed it for that page but if you notice anything similar, please don't hesitate to correct it if you can!

The little chain button stands for links and you can link different pages together using it. If you simply click on a blue or red link while in the editor, it should allow you edit the destination page.

Can anyone edit or is there a specific requirement or something (I know very little css :sob:)? And is there a place wiki editors can work together?

Yes, absolutely anyone can edit the wiki (provided they know the webnovel well) and you don't need to know CSS or even any Wikitext to start off! We've formatted the website already, so you can work freely on Visual Editor, think of it as Doc page.

As for a space for collaboration, there's always here that's available. Just search for the link to the dedicated thread, it's just a scroll up. If you do not have a Discord or do not wish to make one, you can always DM an editor or add a message on their Talk pages.

Wiki Editing

Hi, Hello ^^

Due to Fandom.com's relatively hostile policies for its userbase including horrible (malicious) ads, data mining, endless redirects, AI, closing wikis on a whim and generally just usual corporate bs; me and two other people from the fandom decided we wanted to wanted to shift away from it as fast as possible.

We decided on Miraheze to settle on for the new domain to host the wiki, the best alternative there is. It's powered by MediaWiki (the same thing that runs Wikipedia), completely open-source and will never show you an ad or ever steal your data.

Within a single day we managed to cover over 78 pages and 52 files plus general design but as you might expect, it's not a two-person job 😭.

So if you or anyone you know, who'd be up for volunteering a little bit of their effort into this fandom-focused project, we'd love to hear from you. Any and all help is appreciated, whether it's largescale design with CSS or just generally knowing how to edit & format and helping out.
