So gunner got reopened today but it's probably for the best bc my muse for him is shot :( That being said, I kinda want to reapply as a new male? Does anyone have any FC suggestions/connections they want? I kind of have muse for a charming bad guy, like probs ex-military like Gunner, but definitely more charismatic. Think Dan Bilzerian? Like honestly rly drawing a lot of muse from Dan rn (I love his insta don't judge me) like probably a poker champion (so rich) but ex-military demo expert and definitely good with ladies but also broody and closed off????

HELLO PEOPLE OF EARTH

I've been thinking of ways to get my muse back for Gunner and I THINK I'VE FOUND SOMETHING. Of course it's inspired by that Ed Sheeran Sam Smith mashup but I think I want Gunner to kind of realize how fucked up his relationship with Vera was and maybe try to start rebuilding shit for himself? IDK. IT'S AN IDEA. If anyone wants to plot w bby that would help mucho <3

UGH SO I'M REALLY LOSING MUSE FOR GUNNER AND IT'S K I L L I N G ME 

I think all this angst is getting to my muse, so I think when I get on tomorrow (after I finish this FUCKING PAPER) I'm going to answer some starters as maybe drunk Gunner and see if that helps?! I don't know! Does anyone have suggestions for this bc it sucks bc I love Gunner so much UGH.

As his arms locked tightly around her, all Charlie could do was continue saying that she was sorry. She had imagined he would push her away, be angry with her, but as he held her tightly she felt as if a huge weight had just been lifted off her shoulders. She hadn’t been gone from Telluride that long, but it had felt like forever since he had last held her. While she had come back for her house, she planned on staying for him. She had talked to her boss and while he wasn’t happy about her needing more time off, he seemed to understand that she needed to fix things here first before she made any serious decisions about where she was going to end up staying in the end, for now it was Telluride, but eventually it may be somewhere else. She wasn’t completely sure at the very moment. Pulling back slightly as he spoke, she could feel the lump in her throat growing as the stinging in her eyes started. She kept her eyes downcast and as she spoke, her voice seemed to shake more than it ever had before, “I-I shouldn’t have left. I shouldn’t have left you like that and I am so sorry. Please don’t tell me not to be because you know that won’t help anything, you know me.” She took a slow, deep breath before lifting her eyes to meet his, “I won’t leave like that again, I won’t run. I can’t run.”

Gunner couldn't speak, and he wasn't sure if he had anything to say anyway. It hurt him every time she said she was sorry. Every time she averted her gaze from his out of what Gunner could only recognize as guilt or pain or some other emotion he knew she didn't deserve. He hadn't been surprised when he found her gone in the morning, only a letter to warm her spot. He had been surprised when the letter confirmed all of his worst fears, spelling them out in ink that couldn't be erased. I shouldn't have left. I'm so sorry. Don't tell me not to be. I won't leave again. That was the gist of what Charlie kept saying to him, but the pit in Gunner's stomach only grew. He knew she'd never agree with him - that she'd never acknowledge that it was him who had the issue, and she was right to run away. The truth of the letter weighed on him everyday, and it wasn't something he could very easily forget about or push aside. He wanted Charlie to be happy, and even though she said she was happy with him, Gunner cared about her too much. He wasn't sure if he could continuously subject Charlie to the kind of constant self-doubting questions his past invited for her. He had fought plenty of battles, but none were as all consuming as the war going on in his head. Still, he hugged the brunette close to his chest, burying his face in her hair, breathing in her familiar scent. She was his best friend, his solace. "I missed you," he said simply, his words muffled by her hair. He knew it was lacking, but he didn't know what else to say. He had missed her, and he knew anything else he said could start a fight when all he wanted to do in the moment was relish the feeling of having his Charlie back.
