"Ya, probably the craziest it got was: this one day, where we stayed up for 4 days straight. And it was really fun, but eventually I just started crying and breaking down."

-Stories from P-Diddy's assistant.
As told by Chris Gethard on the Bullseye with Jessie Thorn podcast.
This guy hand-forged his own wedding ring. OUT OF A METEORITE.
That’s it. Game over. You will never have a wedding ring cooler than that of redditor laporkenstein. Not only did he fashion the band himself, in the formidable fires of… well… his garage — he forged the damn thing out of a chunk of meteorite. (A Gibeon meteorite, to be exact.)

You've gotta celebrate all types of geeks. This video highlights one of my favorite genres of geeks. Music geeks!

Which Ninja Turtle do you identify with?
I have been really into a podcast called The Mutant Season with 9 year old Gil. It is a podcast on the Nerdist network where a 9 year old interviews people he is interested in. Today I listened to a conversation with Kevin Eastman, co-creator of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In the chat they discussed how your favorite Turtle says a lot about your personality:
"People identify with different Turtles for different reasons, sometimes it's because they are like them, and they want to be a little goofy like Michelangelo. Or they are more of a leader and they want to be like Leonardo... which no one mentioned today. No one wants to be the responsible one, that's the one that sends you to bed on time."
Which made me think. My favorite Ninja Turtle was always Leonardo. Even when I was a little kid, I felt bad for him because he just wanted to get shit done and the other three couldn't get it together. You know, they could have saved themselves a lot of trouble if they had just listened to Leonardo more.
I feel like that says a lot about my sometimes grating personality...
Who was your favorite Turtle and why?

I got a little teary eyed.
Wednesday, Astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson and NASA head Charles Bolden presented speeches on the importance of science funding in our country to the U.S. Senate Committee of Science. Only 4 out of the 25 members of the Senate Science Committee even bothered to show up If you’re not going to be present when two of the most influential people to the STEM fields are there to present their 5 minute speeches, maybe you shouldn’t be on the damn Senate Science committee. I hope every one of those senators loses their job
TVC MOVIE CLUB PRESENTS MOON! Saturday March 3rd @ Justin's House.

From Kyle: "I like this movie. Brabender approved." From the director of Source Code aka David Bowie's son... From Rotten Tomatos: 89% ... An astronaut miner extracting the precious moon gas that promises to reverse the Earth's energy crisis nears the end of his three-year contract, and makes an ominous discovery in this psychological sci-fi film starring Sam Rockwell and Kevin Spacey. For three long years, Sam Bell has dutifully harvested Helium 3 for Lunar, a company that claims it holds the key to solving humankind's energy crisis. As Sam's contract comes to an end, the lonely astronaut looks forward to returning to his wife and daughter down on Earth, where he will retire early and attempt to make up for lost time. His work on the Selene moon base has been enlightening -- the solitude helping him to reflect on the past and overcome some serious anger issues -- but the isolation is starting to make Sam uneasy. With only two weeks to go before he begins his journey back to Earth, Sam starts feeling strange: he's having inexplicable visions, and hearing impossible sounds. Then, when a routine extraction goes horribly awry, it becomes apparent that Lunar hasn't been entirely straightforward with Sam about their plans for replacing him. The new recruit seems strangely familiar, and before Sam returns to Earth, he will grapple with the realization that the life he has created may not be entirely his own. Up there, hundreds of thousands of miles from home, it appears that Sam's contract isn't the only thing about to expire. Snacks will include: Home-made MOON pies This is a seriously good movie. A sic-fi psychological thriller.
