It has happened that I see people in here having a conversation where I could add something, but doing so would reveal the kind of porn doujin manga I read, and turns out there is a force that can stop my pedantic need to state facts

Repose en paix, dear Marjane Satrapi (1969-2026).
You were my goal during my teenage years. Photographs by Rahi Rezvani 🖤
RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.

Reblogging in honor of Marjane Satrapi, one of THE great graphic novelists. Her comic Persepolis was a crucial text for shaping my belief that comics can deeply explore identity, culture, politics, and history.
Happy Pride Month to those two women dancing together in the foreground of the boat scene in Godzilla (1954).
I’m sorry your romantic foibles were overshadowed by a big ass atomic lizard thing.
out of the tags with you
Drew the scene from the original novel where the two of them escape from the military camp.
I would like to see more people talk about how jobs treat disabled employees.
I used to prep, wash dishes, and cook at mellow mushroom. I had chronic pain that wasn't NEARLY as bad as it is today, but it was still very debilitating. I told my employer "i cannot stand more than 4 to 6 hours. I CANNOT do shifts longer than this due to my illness." And even though i made my boundaries VERY clear, everyday i worked it was 8 hours at the least and 10 or 12 at the most. I would go up to my manager and say "look i really need to leave, my shift is over, my chronic pain is killing me." And he'd say "we really need to here, you HAVE to push through." And so i did, and after one, ONE month of that job my crps got incredibly worse to the point where i could no longer walk my dog around the block which was .5 miles. I quit, and that was FOUR years ago, and ever since that day I HAVE BEEN BEDRIDDEN AND HAVE TO USE A WHEELCHAIR. It is my biggest regret in life.
My best friend who has seen my whole journey has recently developed undiagnosed chronic pain, and she is in the EXACT same scenario i was 4 years ago. Busting her ass at a pizza place with extreme pain that hurts her so much she tells me "im in so much pain i don't even feel like a person." She doesn't feel LUCID. And her manager and coworkers are saying the same thing "if you don't help us you will let us down, we'll be in the shit."
That job thats hurting you isn't fucking worth it. I promise you no money is worth losing all your physical abilities and never getting them back. Your coworkers and boss do not give a shit about you, so don't you dare suffer for them. They will never understand your struggle and they will never try. They truly think being understaffed is worse than whatever pain you experience. They would rather you permanently damage yourself than inconvenience them. FUCK THEM. DON'T FUCKING DO IT!
I see people outing their shitty companies they worked at in the reblogs and I just want to say KEEP DOING IT
I got severe RSI trying to keep a job in my early twenties (it had taken a while to find something) and my hands are still, and probably always will be, kinda messed up. If I'm careful they get below pain threshold but it takes very little to go back over.
I barely even remember the job. I promise you it isn't worth it
get a doctor's note in writing
when you talk to your manager, record it, then send an email with the contents of the discussion. The point is to have a paper trail
take the paper trail to your labour lawyer.
Asking nicely "please treat me like a human" will never work. You have to have a paper trail with legal ramifications. It has to cost the company money to do this.
THIS IS WHY THE LABOUR MOVEMENT MATTERS. This is why we need unions and stronger labour laws.
Making you, the disabled person do this, on top of everything else is absolute bullshit. I get that you can't do it all the time or for every employer - you're trying to survive. Do what you have to to survive, don't apologize for that. Get your own oxygen mask on first, then do what you can to help others.
OP: How I created this visual magic (cr 阿梓蔗)
When the average heterosexual family man complains about his family not respecting him, it is almost always because there is absolutely nothing about him to respect and he has made no effort to connect with any of them and he considers the slightest pushback or lack of affection a sign of ‘disrespect’. When the average heterosexual family woman complains about her family not respecting her, it’s usually because her 14 year old son keeps calling her a bitch and throwing things at her while her husband laughs. The difference is so fucking stark.
I feel this emotion so hard
